Top Secret Meeting -Do Not Enter!- (Private Erebos)

The world became way too bright way too quickly. Her body was sore and she swore she could feel her head throbbing painfully with every beat of her heart. To make matters worse she could barely recollect where she was. She remembered a request, and a lot of dirty air... but she had planned on going home right after right?

She sat up slowly wincing as her body protested the movement. This was one of those times she wished she could fix herself up with her magic! Sylphid had told her that her magic was for helping others just as much as for helping yourself. But to the girl it seemed as though the scale was tipped in the scale of others and it was a pain sometimes. With a couple groggy steps she made her way to a nearby window and opened it, letting in a gust of fresh air. Smiling, she began to inhale deeply feeling the energy of the air itself flow through her. Slowly but surely the pain subsided and her energy returned.

Feeling refreshed Mir decided it was time to prepare for the day. She discarded her nightgown and hopped into a nice warm shower. If there was one thing she missed when she was out in Warth woods it was this, reliable hot water. No need to scramble around looking for a fire mage to heat it up, no need to wait an hour for your water to heat over a fire, and most importantly no need to take a cold bath.

Once she was done she threw on a fresh black dress shirt and a matching black skirt. After a short look around the room she picked up her bunny sweatshirt and put it on over it, opting to leave the hood down for now. She then stepped out of the room and headed to the lobby, if she remembered correctly she was supposed to meet Malacanth here this morning and she'd be damned if she let him go back to the guild and talk about her tardiness, or laziness.

The boy was younger than her, yet still he gave her no respect it was vexing. If it wasn't for the stupid magic miasma from last night she'd be safely back in the warth woods lazing about her home, or walking around town picking some pockets and eating some of Era's delicacies.

Malacanth woke up gasping, he had a particularly bad nightmare about his parents finding him and him being taken to jail. He had this nightmare once in a while, a nightmare where his life is ruined. He sat their for five minutes just trying to collect himself. He was sweating from the fear of it. The nightmare had this quality where everyone he knew looked monsterish. He finally got up and took a shower. He got dressed, getting his two jackets on and getting the jeans on. Putting on his two rings on he walked out of his hotel room. Malacanth walked into the lobby, the final after effects of that dream where freedom is taken away from him gone. He walked up to Mirei with a wave and said " so what do you want to do?"

'What do I want to do?' she thought to herself, she was taken aback by this sudden shift in behavior. Last night he seemed as though he could care less and here he was today asking her to plan out their activities. Her eyes narrowed a bit. Maybe he was just having a bad day yesterday...

"How about we start with some breakfast?" she muttered in his direction "I've heard quite a bit about Eran food" She paused to observe his face. He looked as though he had a rough night, maybe a bad dream or lack of sleep altogether. "Of course it'll be your treat" she smirked 'payback time'

She stood and stretched a bit "I'll even let you pick where we eat ok? Be sure the place is good senpai"

As she reached the door she pulled the bunny hood over her head, but left the jacket itself unzipped revealing the black dress shirt beneath. Maybe she was being a little harsh, but he deserved it for treating her like she was worthless last night.

Malacanth shrugged, he was just going to pick the first place he saw. He walked out of the hotel with his hands in his pocket. He looked around the hotel and saw a simple restaurant that looked like it wouldn't be crowded. He pointed to it and said " do you mind their?" He was feeling relaxed today, he had nothing to do so he decided to just go with the flow and thats why he would let Mirei decide. He didn't really think anything was wrong with the place either.

Mirei chewed on her lip. What was going on? Was it a trap? Hazing the newbie or something? She'd have to stay on her toes. She was in a dark guild after all she wagered that their practical jokes could be a bit more severe than other guilds. Her eyes drifted from Malacanth to the little family restaurant before them. It was a quaint little place promising great Eran food at not so Eran prices.

"Sure..." she said a little unsure of her guildmate's behavior "Are you feeling ok? You seem a little different than last night." He had so much as insulted her once in the 30 minutes they had been together. According to the guildmaster he wasn't exactly one to hold his tongue. The only thing that had changed between the two was his discovery of her magic. She knew it to be rather rare among dark guilds to have a dragon slayer. Was he going to start tiptoeing around her like the other guild members?

With a sigh she pushed the door of the restaurant open and immediately moved to a table, ignoring the words of the waitress at the door and a sign that clearly asked her to 'wait to be seated'. She was in a dark guild after all, at the very least she could ignore a sign or two. "I'll start with some water" she called out.

Malacanth followed Mirei into the resturaunt with a yawn. He was just out of it today, he couldn't think of anything mean to say. " yeah i'm fine, just didn't sleep well." He sat down with her, not like it was a law that made them wait at the door. " I see that you at least don't follow the petty rules like that but remember it would be embarrassing to get caught on a stupid thing like this but once in a while is fine." He may like to do what ever he wants but he still knew to be cautious. " I'll have water too, hurry up with it." For a second he thought how fun it would be to destroy this place, thats good. He was getting over the dream. " So your new, how long have you wanted to join Erebos small fry." He said the Erebos part as a whisper, he wasn't an idiot after all.

Mirei smirked, for some odd reason being insulted by the boy was reassuring this time. "Don't worry, they would never catch me, even if they tried." Very few people had ever actually tried and the people who had found that, though she looked frail, she was not at all easy to catch. She idly sipped at her glass of water while thinking about Malacanth's question. Why had she joined a dark guild? Why Erebos?


"It feels... relaxed."she said with a calm gaze out of a nearby window. "No body fusses about my magic or tries to lock me up and tell me what to do. I can steal from whoever I can outrun and still receive praise from the guild master" She grimaced as memories of her days in legal guilds floated through her head. Back when she was stuck playing doctor, barely able to go outside without them sending two mages as an escort. The disapproving stares of people she had just saved or people she had failed.

'Why weren't you out there! You could have saved him!' she sighed the inner voices away.
"Support magic is rare ya' know" she looked up into her guildmate's eyes solemnly "What about you? You seem kinda wild, I'm sure Fairy Tail would've loved to have you."

The waitress came back and she ordered a simple ham and cheese omelette and some orange juice. She had originally planned on ordering a little more since her senpai was paying, but her memories kind of sapped the mischief from her mind.

Malacanth nodded, understanding her reasoning, legal guilds had responsibility that dark guilds would never give them. Legal guilds had to take responsibility for their actions, something Malacanth loathed. The freedom of the dark guilds allow them to do what ever they want and actually get praised. He was also told he would fit well in Fairy Tail. Many people told him that but their is always that reason he can't. " I can't be part of a legal guild, i ran away from home and so i could only join a dark guild, anyway the freedom i have here can't be gained from joining Fairy Tail." He might have joined a legal guild if he could back then but now knowing the freedoms of the dark guild he couldn't now.

Mirei's entire demeanor changed. He's a runaway? He chose to... He chose to abandon his family? How? Why? Mirei wished every day of her life that she could find her family. At least something like a family! She wasn't sure what she'd do to her biological parents if she ever found them. But she desperately wanted to find Sylphid, her dragon parent. She wanted to know why she left her all alone...

All of these thoughts drifted through her head as she stared at one who had willingly given it up. The question burned within her chest before she had even begun to ask it. "Why did you run?" Her hand was quivering as she asked. If his answer was the least bit selfish she might need to leave this city right now and never talk to this boy again. The selfishness it takes to abandon somebody. To leave them all alone without so much as a reason why. Her omelette sat on the edge of the table. Mir hadn't even noticed the waitress return and place it there. Her thoughts were too clouded.

"Why...?"

Malacanth didn't know what he exactly did but she seemed to have gone in shock. Was his life that bad? Maybe it was sort of a bad reason to join a guild but guilds seemed so fun. His parents wouldn't allow him to grow as a mage so he had to leave to continue his dream. Thats what he decided anyway. She voiced what he was just thinking so he guessed he would have to answer. " My parents wouldn't allow me to grow as a mage. I needed to be stronger so i left. It may not be a good reason to leave my home but being a mage is the most important thing to me. My parents wouldn't allow me to follow the most important thing in the world to me. It was that or continue being a simple store owner." He really didn't know if his parents would force him to take over the store but he didn't stay to find out. Something finally got through his thick head. She is a dragon slayer whose dragon most likely left. She must think its impossible to leave a parent. " wait, sorry i just figured it out. I understand your dragon was nice and important to you but my parents were like that, i would have no life worth living with the path they had for me." He hoped he didn't piss her off to bad, all he could think was him and his big mouth.

...Then a loud thump against the large glass window. Loud enough to startle the people inside the restaurant. Waves of teal, zebra stripes, chains, and a stupid smile. Weird. Bentham stuck his tongue out, pressing the symbol of Erebos against the glass for everyone to see. Waving nonchalantly at the two Erebos members inside. He chuckled his stupid laugh. It seemed easy, but it had not been.

From the moment he entered Era it had been a pain in his ass. Their descriptions were easy enough to go by, but with the Tournament going on there was all kinds of cosplay freaks roaming about. Luckily there weren't too many giant fourteen year old boys roaming about with bunnies. In truth it took most of the day away from him, what a waste. Persephone is such a pain in my ass. Eventually, he located them by asking random strangers if they had seen a bunny and a giant-boy. Some old hag led him to the eatery.

He entered, running his fingers through his long teal mane. A women stepped in his path as he walked, asking if he needed a table. His hand found her face, knocking her swiftly to the ground. Then found his way to their table, gathering stares all the while.

"What're you fools doing Er'?" Smiling his winning grin.

"Perseyphonny sent me to babysit. Stupid really, I said: If Malacanth wants to take his girlfriend to Era, let him. But you know, Yer' just kids. And Persey said 'was gonna kill me if I didn't." Then another laugh.

Pulling a chair from another table, Bentham threw his legs up. His arm was fast, snatching up Malacanth's cup, then drinking it's contents. Plain water, how bold. At least it got the taste of window out of his mouth.They seemed deep in conversation, one that he wanted no part in. Bentham wasn't well acquainted enough with them to just barge in like this. Though he'd seen them around the guild hall long enough to recognize their faces. They were still young, too innocent looking to be in Erebos. Probably haven't even killed anyone yet, huh?

Fate was an odd thing to say the least. Apparently the mood had become too tense and fate had decided to intervene by sending a rather oddly dressed character. She immediately recognized him from the guild and decided to put their conversation on hold. Internal strife was the last thing the old hag Persephone would want to see, especially coming from a new recruit.

The man's words annoyed her a bit, but not as much as the man's way of saying them. she could easily ignore the girlfriend comment as playful teasing towards Malacanth, but to imply that she needed a babysitter was going too far. She sipped at her glass of water. Thanks to the man's actions plenty of eyes were on them. She could easily pick up the whispers of the many patrons.

"How horrible"

"Did you see how he treated that waitress?"

"They must be so scared"

She placed the glass of water on the table as calmly as possible before leaning over the table. "What the hell are you thinking?" she exclaimed in a hushed tone "I get the whole teasing thing, trust me it was HILARIOUS and all, but tossing around the name of a dark guild master like that is a little reckless don't you think?...Crap" Already there was an Eran guardsman at the door. She quickly pretended to be ignoring the man, and nibbled on her food. With Malacanth's usual attitude this probably wasn't going to end well, so it'd be a little helpful if she ate before needing to leave town.

Malacanth wanted to face palm. This idiot was going to get them arrested. The guy was parading around his tattoo and being noisy. That probably meant the guards would be here soon. He had so many remarks about this guy but if one guard found them already many would be coming. The guy ruined what could of been a nice relaxing day. " Time to leave, Mirei the guards will be coming in force any second now." Mirei seemed to have other ideas though, telling this guy off seemed to be a priority to her. He listened to her telling the guy off sort of amused. He got up, knowing the guards would arrest them any second now, three guards were already outside the restaurant sure we would stay here. " Ok, we have two options, three if you count a cruel one. One we jump through the windows and run, two is we fight our way through the guards, three and my personal favorite is Mirei and me crash through the windows and leave the dumbass to be a distraction."

Mirei giggled at her options and took one last bite of her omelet. She then grabbed her napkin from the tabletop and proceeded to dab at her mouth in a nonchalant manner. The guards started to dash in their direction as the waitress finished her story. Mirei gave a small smile and held up three fingers. Before taking a deep breath and destroying the nearby window. She hopped out of said window and dashed off.

The guards managed to tail her for fifteen whole minutes before she lost them. She quickly ducked into an alley and took in a deep breath. She placed her fingers to her mouth and let out a magically enhanced whistle which tore through the air in its shrill tone. The guards that had been chasing her dashed down her alleyway to find... nothing.

Mirei smiled as she peered down at the confused guards from the top of a nearby building. A small cat-like creature was resting in her hood with it's arms resting on her hair. "Nice timing Nao~" The cat blushed at her master's praise. Nao had been terrified ever since Mir left her at home while she went on this mission to find Malacanth. She had hoped to tail her master in secret and make sure she was ok, however it appeared that a dragon slayers ears and nose weren't something to be toyed with.

Mir smiled as she spotted Malacanth again. The boy seemed much more interesting than she had given him credit for. "See you back at the guild! Try not to make the old lady wait too long"

Malacanth in a burst of speed jumped out of the window behind her, she may have been fast but he had good reflexes. Sadly since he was the second person out the rune knights were their already. He didn't need magic though. He punched the first one with a quick uppercut, sending him reeling to the ground. A second punch went directly into another rune knight's stomach. Sadly their was to many so he needed to run. Going through the streets and losing them slowly he found Mirei again. She was being chased by one rune knight. Sort of sad she couldn't handle him. He turned the corner with him and jumped up and aimed a kick at his head. The kick hit with a crunch and the rune knight went down. " See you back in Erebos small fry. Remember to tell Persephone we finished the request." He ran off into the ally ways of Era, he found out later his name has been put up in the streets and his parents were notified of the siting. the last part hurt the most for him.
