Character sheet Character Name: Eve Furey Magic of character: Card Magic Mana Bar: (100/100)
| Subject: Eve Furey's Magic~ Tue May 29, 2012 7:09 pm | |
| Primary Magic: Card Magic Secondary Magic: Caster or Holder: Holder Description: Eve's magic is mostly offensive, and when attacking she uses more of nature's elements (such as fire, water, earth). When defending, she uses plants, wind, etc. So there are the elemental cards that can come in handy. She also has various gambling cards, but the effects of the cards vary depending on their suit. Diamonds, for example, summon more cards (sharpened, offensive cards) to attack with. The number of cards depends on the number of the original card (IE: Card number 7 will summon 6 extra cards with sharp edges to attack with - the original card's edges are also sharpened). The cards move forward with the sweep of Eve's arm. Other cards, when activated, will either burst into flame, become electrically charged, emit a smoke cloud, etc. Heart cards are more rare and they can heal Eve or her allies of fatigue, status problems, minor injuries, etc. The other suits have varying abilities as well. Various cards can act as "trick" cards by summoning items - such as the trip wire card. This card will only work if there are two structures of a certain distance apart that cold hold the wire, but when combined with, say, a wind knockback card, the opponent can be sent tumbling to the ground. Then, Eve could attack with a lightning strike or anything of the like.
Strengths: Elemental cards greatly boost her offense, but she mainly carries gambling cards that vary in strength and ability. Her diamond cards are her main offense besides elemental cards, and seeing as there are 9 number cards per suit, they're a great asset. She has the cards "trained", so to speak, so she always knows where in her deck a certain card is. Upon contact with her hand, the cards give a mental flash of which one it is. Combining cards with multiple effects can give her an edge in battle if it is done correctly. After diamond cards are thrown and make contact, the copy cards disappear and the original stays in the same spot it stopped (whether it be in an opponent or lying on the ground or something). The damage left remains, though, and all cards in the deck are able to wound an opponent if thrown
Weaknesses: If she loses her cards, she will be practically defenseless. Because there are so many gambling cards in her deck, her opponent can easily catch onto her abilities. There are only a few variations from suit to suit. Once a card has been used in battle, it cannot be used again for the duration of that battle. So if Eve uses all of her cards, she's done for. If a card is burned or torn it cannot be used, and if a card gets wet it can be more difficult to use (it could simply be harder to throw, or it could require more concentration to cast the spell).
Combat/Technique: She would prefer to defend (when not feeling sadistic), so she likes to try and disorient her enemies or trick them into allowing her escape (if they start the fight.) But if she's in the mood, she can be viscous by disarming her enemies or trapping them, then slowly inflicting pain and possibly gaining information. If her opponent doesn't know what to expect, she can catch them off guard by tripping them (if it works) and hitting them with a rough blow. She is best at long-ranged combat and uses the environment to her advantage. She's not the quickest in movement and agility, so she compensates by building barricades of stone/earth with her card magic/surroundings. When working with others, she's a good person to have for defending others, but she can inflict a lot of pain when necessary. Since she's better at defensive moves, it can take a long time to wear down her opponent. She is not good at close-combat fights since her physical strength and speed are not too great. She is also clumsy, so keeping her distance allows her time to recover from blunders. If in close range, she can be more likely to land a hit (with things such as lightning and water), but that's if her target isn't moving. That's why she likes to trap her enemy.
~~
Magic Circle: (Which is the same for every spell) Eve's magic circle is silver, and inside the outer circle are three more circles of equal distance apart (Like a target), and there's a giant X with each of its corners touching the outer circle. Inside the outer circle, overlapping everything else, are four more circles (like if you make a block formation with a few nickels), and inside each circle are repeating, colored in suit symbols (Diamond, spade, club, and heart). In the very middle of the seal (inside the tiny gap made by the four inner suit circles) is an outline of a Triforce (no reference to Zelda, but I didn't know what else to call the symbol xD).
Name: Diamond Strike Rank: D Magic Cost: 10 Requirements: Have the card in hand Class: Offense Element: No element Effect: This card summon more cards (sharpened, offensive cards) to attack with. The number of cards depends on the number of the original card (IE: Card number 7 will summon 6 extra cards with sharp edges to attack with - the original card's edges are also sharpened). The cards move forward with the sweep of Eve's arm, and all but the original card disappears upon contact. The original card will remain in/on the opponent/whatever stopped it until Eve or another picks it up. A disadvantage to this spell is that if the opponent is quick enough, they can dodge the cards. And, if the opponent caches on, they can easily maneuver around her attacks, since every diamond card does the same thing (with the exception of the number of cards summoned). The cards can only go about 1/2 inch deep into the skin, so unless it slices the opponent, it won't do much damage. Eve only has cards numbered 3, 5, and 7, though (out of 9 possible diamond cards). Cooldown: 2 Duration: Instant History: This spell came with the deck Eve took from Madame Clairvont (see character history for more information). So far she hasn't done much with this spell besides scare wild animals. She's only used it in battle twice while out on jobs, and each time only a few of the cards actually hit the opponent.
Name: Trip Up Rank: E Magic Cost: 5 Requirements: There needs to be two objects within a certain distance of each other that can hold a tiny, yet strong, metal wire Class: Supplementary Element: None Effect: This card activates in the user's hand, and when activated, it glows and summons a tiny, metal wire that is barely visible to the eye. It must be held up by two objects of about 20 or less feet apart. Cooldown: 3 Duration: 2 posts (including the one it's summoned in) History: Eve found it in a magic shop in Magnolia a few years ago. If used with her Wind Breaker spell, Eve can trip her opponent and flee the battle (since she doesn't like unnecessary fighting). She has used it while having a dispute with fellow gamblers, as she can trip them and run off with the money. (Or when the gambler tries to flee with her money, she uses it to trip them and take it back with some interest.)
Name: Wind Breaker Rank: E Magic Cost: 5 Requirements: Hold the card in the direction you wish the wind to go in. Class: Offense Element: Wind Effect: Once activated, a spurt of air shoots out from a magic seal in front of the card in the direction it's being held. The gust only goes about 15 feet at 5 meters/second, so Eve has to scoot close to her enemy to use it. It is not strong enough to do more than push someone back a few steps. What a pity. Cooldown: 2 Duration: Instant History: Came with the deck Madame Clairvont used. So far, Eve has used it to blow dry her hair or push children/townspeople out of her way. On the rare occasion she is in a one-person boat, she uses this to propel herself forward so she won't have to use a paddle.
Name: Water Slicer Rank: D Magic Cost: 10 Requirements: Hold the card in the direction you wish the water to go in. Class: Offense Element: Water Effect: This spell causes a slash of water about one inch thick to rush at the opponent. It moves horizontally and is about 3 feet long, and it uses such force that it can cut a small tree branch or make a tiny indention in a tree. It only goes about 20 feet before fizzling out (unless an objects stops it). It travels at 10 meters/second. Cooldown: 3 Duration: Instant History: Eve bought this spell from a merchant visiting Hargeon. She doesn't use it often since, living in Hargeon, water is everywhere. It's a newer spell, so she hasn't used it on a job yet. People get mad at her if she harms the nearby trees, so this card usually goes unused.
Name: Earth Wall Rank: D Magic Cost: 10 Requirements: Have at least a 5ft radius of soil around the character Class: Defense Element: Earth Effect: When activated, the card glows and a wall of earth about 1ft deep rises in front of the character. The height depends on how much Magic Power Eve has left, but it is usually only 6ft tall. If attacked, Eve can use this card to create a barrier. It takes 1.5 seconds to form, though, so if she isn't fast enough in casting, she could be in trouble. It is strong against physical, fire and lightning attacks but weak against wind, water, and ice attacks. It can take 1 spell of equal rank. Cooldown: 2 Duration: 3 turns (Unless eliminated with an opponent's spell.) History: It came with Madame Clairvont's deck. Eve has used this on multiple occasions to avoid being hit by a harmful attack, but sometimes she hasn't reacted quickly enough and has been hit.

| Hmm... This reminds me of Cana's magic, so I see no reason why it shouldn't be okay. Approved 2/2 | |
