The Rematch of the Dragons

Lance was rushing to get to the location he received from Jinchu. A letter had came for him earlier that morning saying to meet him here at three o'clock sharp, and Lance wasn't one to be tardy. The two were going to fight again today he could already tell that was the reason that Jinchu had him coming to this remote location. He could have picked somewhere not, in the middle of no where. It was supposed to be a rather large open field. The farmer who owned it died a few years ago so it had grown a bit weed infested but the wandering animals had kept most the grass well trimmed. Lance had been following the dirt path for a few hours now, he was hoping to get there soon. He hadn't seen any human life for miles and the last home he saw had to be at least 10 miles back. Lance was wearing basic khaki shorts and a light blue t-shirt. He had used Moki to get there a bit faster but he had gotten lazy and was just walking by his side now. Judging by the basic map Lance had they should be arriving there in no time.


Soon enough he good see off in the distance two figures standing. Lance couldn't fully tell if it was Jinchu from this distance but he knew that it was him. ”Let's go Moki, I know you can go a bit longer.” Moki rolled his eyes and jumped on Lance's back. ”You owe me Lance. If you are planning on making me fly you home you best realize that we are getting some fish on the way home.” Lance had expected something like this, so he wasn't too annoyed. As the two got closer he could make out Jinchu's red hair and Raza's shape. ”Hey there guys! Long time no see.” Moki landed right beside the two hopping right to the ground putting his wings behind his back. The fighting area seemed like it would be good enough it was rather vast and empty. ”So what's up Jin, how have you been?”

Jinchu was casually waiting, trying to hold up a patient appearance was hard but he had been managing because there was at least Raza there to keep him company. As they heard their guests approaching though they decided to seem as quiet as possible as to the give the effect of being sage-like. It was Raza's idea and Jinchu thought it was too cool to pass up trying. Lance had gotten close enough with Moki for recognition to be possible and Jin had to suppress an anticipating grin, 'I bet he knows why he is here. I heard he was promoted in rank class so I wanted to see what he has got.... I'll decide if it is worth it make the effort and rank up myself when I get back to Magnolia.' Lance's voice came in and Jinchu just turned, since his body wasn't facing Lance he was finally able to let his face be not so serious and give way a bit to the humorous situation.

Raza turned as well but he managed to keep himself stone-faced, "Follow me..." Jin was quite serious sounding and both Dragon Slayer and Exceed walked in unison, leading the opponents to the area where they were going to be able to let loose and get going with the fight. It was a rematch of Dragons, this battle deserved a proper setting to accommodate for such a situation. Their steps were a bit echoed as the grassy area was gradually becoming sparser and it was turning into heavier cemented areas. They were nearly at the spot that would give them the best ability to perform at their top levels.

Something was up with Jinchu, and Lance didn't know what it was. Maybe they weren't figthing after all but as the walked to the concrete area. It seemed that Lance's first hunch was correct. Lance stopped and allowed Jinchu to walk a few feet in front of him. "So time for round two huh? Well I'm not the same as I was before, though that may be one of the most clichè saying out there. Moki why don't you and Raza go a bit away so you don't get mixed up in this fight." Moki tugged at Lance's jacket to make sure that Lance was sure about this. Lance's mind had been made up the second the letter came, he was ready to fight Jinchu again. It might turn out the same way but he would learn more and more every time.

Lance clinched his fist and brought them half up his body slightly crossing them. He was getting ready for this fight to take place. Lance readied his magical power in case Jinchu had improved as well. He didn't wan to be caught off guard. He was ready physically, mentally, and magically for this fight to start. "You can have first move this time Jinchu." Moki and Raza took off to an area about 30 yards away. They both could fly to dodge if things got out of hand, which was very possible with these two.

Jinchu stood on the battle-field, he could feel the change, there was definitely something more intense about Lance than before, "Have you gotten stronger, friend?" he said still with his back facing the other Dragon Slayer. There was some tense time as Jin thought about Lance's suggestion to let him go first, 'Yes I could but I think he may be holding out on me... I took the victory last time so he might think of me just being foolish enough to take the advantage.' A wry smile came to his lips as he began walking again, increasing the distance between Lance and himself until they were roughly eight to ten meters apart. Jin turned slowly on his left heel and let his body come around to finally face his opponent. This was very curious, someone who showed disadvantage the last time was quite content in giving up the courtesy of first move, this irked Jin to some degree, there must be something he didn't know, he must be much more powerful than he was anticipating.

His eyes held a steady gaze on Lance only flicking back to see Raza's whereabouts once, knowing that he needn't worry too much about his companion for he was a fighter in his own right. He rolled his neck to make a slight crack and made a satisfied grunt, "I think I am going to enjoy this, hehe." He flexed his left forearm and he could feel the power pulsing through his veins, he was about ready to find out if Lance shared that likeness in power. The fight was starting and there was no sense in denying it. Jinchu considered graciously declining the offer and letting Lance make the first move but his lust for battle was too overwhelming to ignore for the moment. He broke into a sprint in an instant, possibly surprising Lance by the abrupt start but it wouldn't be enough to cause him any inability to react in according time. He went only a couple steps and he blasted to his right side, and made quick zig-zagging patterns in a couple more steps to be on Lance's left. With that he turned his body to rotate himself into a powerful punch aimed for rib-cage of the Light Dragon Slayer. If the blow was uncontested it could potentially cause significant damage, at most cracking a rib bone.

His footwork was sound and square and his left arm had slight elevation to it, giving him opportunity to respond to a potential counter-attack by Lance but Jin was more focused in establishing a dominance in the physical aspect. It would give him an advantage as the fight went on. There was a little bit of a smirk still present but it was more aimed towards his enjoyment of competing in battle than trying to be smug towards his opponent.

Lance could sense Jinchu's power rise since the last time they had fought. He seemed just as eager to fight this time as the last one. He took the first attack since Lance offered and was already charging at him. He must have forgot that Lance was fast if he thought that an attack so straight forward would land on him he had another thing coming. Lance watched as Jinchu came at him, he saw him dart to Lance's left trying to land a blow to his rib cage. Lance could only smirk. The second that Jinchu's arm was heading at Lance he activated his first ability. In an instant he was gone. Jinchu had grown in speed but not even an S rank could keep up with this abilities short distant speed. In an instant Lance was behind the Fire Dragon Slayer.

Lance's fist was glowing with a bright white color. His stance already had him bringing his fist back readying a punch with his full force behind it. Jinchu had bested him in the previous fight with melee force so Lance was ready to show his new physical abilities. His ability Holy Nova was his strongest close range attack dealing heavy bone shattering damage along with sever burns if it lands. Jinchu would only have seconds to block or dodge the incoming attack if he didn't want to get a sever wound. If Jinchu did dodge his punch physically the blast radius o the light energy would get him, and destroy the ground around them as well making getting a quick footed escape unlikely.

Jin, of course expected the dodge, Lance was the Light Dragon Slayer, he had an assortment of spells to do with speed. It was guaranteed that this punch wouldn't land if any magic was being used. Thus as the punch would have landed Jin activated two spells, one in succession after the other. The first one was a handy spell that was activated as soon as the sudden disappearance of Lance happened. The Dragon Sense would allow him to know where Lance was whenever he came close which would allow him to prepare for the event of a surprise attack. Fortunately for Jin he already knew where Lance was headed so he began to react even before his heightened senses came into full play. He remembered in their previous fight a similar situation where he made a zig-zagging assault and Lance worked himself around to get him in the back. Knowing this in such an advance he already jumped forward from the flow of his punch so it was fluently executed to save time, preparing his magic and even as Lance was taking a couple seconds to charge, Jin felt the magic preparation with his heightened senses. This meant he needed to move even quicker than planned or face being hit hard in the back by something of Lance's creation. He summoned forth the magic needed and the Magic circle appeared behind him, instantly bathing him in flame.

With the magic circle's pulse he got sent flying forward at a speed that would clear him from getting hit. He didn't anticipate the explosive force entailed in the blow but Jin's technique carried him far enough to be able to come out bearing no scratch. If anything the minimal concussive force he could have felt from the explosion would have only sped him along a bit to avoid the actual damaging factor. Jin spun out of the spell as soon as it was safe and rotated his body to face where Lance was as he skidded back on his landing. He was on the balls of his feet so he could react at any time. Granted Lance would likely use his magic to be faster than him anyways but he was in a position where he could be quick enough to do something about it. He smiled and spoke in a playful tone, "Haha... Impressive to say the least. Looks like this will be quite a good match!" It was clear to see his power would rival abilities, maybe be even greater due to how willing and able he was to pull that combo off to start. Jinchu's mind was plagued with possibilities on how this fight could continue but he could not know a true outcome since Lance and himself have still revealed so little.

Jin now prepared his magic as it was likely he was going to need to use it soon, this wasn't like last time. One thing he did want to still do though was to establish some true hand to hand component in the fight since he still believed he had the advantage there. He considered using a spell he had just worked on, if it were to be used as he envisioned then he could cut some of Lance's advantages down to an easier managed level. The ball was in his opponent's court for the moment but Jin was a little excited so he might consider trying to take the game over if Lance were to take too long.

Jinchu was able to slip through Lance's attack, he had used the same ability that he used against Lance in the last match. It was able to get him a good distance from Lance, 15 meters give or take was Lance's guess. Jinchu stated that the match would be a good one and Lance couldn't help but agree. "So Jinchu, what have you been doing to get so strong? I could sense your magical presences before I could even smell you."

Lance held out his hand creating ten orbs of light to appear. The orbs slowly were going through a color change across the color wheel. Their glow was a soft and twinkling. The lights floated round Lance in a dancing circular orbit. "Well Jinchu let me introduce you to the Light Dragon's strongest attack! Spectrum Blast!" The balls colors began to change at a rapid pace, becoming brighter and brighter, they began to have a stroblight effect. Lance held out his hand and the orbs shoot at Jinchu. The attack was a bluff since the orbs were translucent and wouldn't cause any harm besides temporary blinding, or if Jinchu happened to be a epileptic it could cause a seizure. The attack was mainly to see how Jinchu would react to an attack with this speed. The speed was only 20 mph nothing near his faster spells but it was about the same speed as a normal magical spell.

Lance backed up a few feet to fully clear himself of the broken ground that was created by his Nova. He didn't want to somehow get pressed into it by Jinchu and loose his footing and get hit. He made the mistake last fight to try to match Jinchu in hand to hand combat, but even with his speed Jinchu's strength was able to overwhelm him, this time he wanted to keep a nice distance from Jinchu. With his new found magical pool he could launch long range attacks at Jinchu multiple times without feeling too much of a magical drain. Last time the fought Jinchu didn't show too many range attacks so Lance assumed that he lacked in that department, something that Lance excelled at, this fight would be a whole different one than the last.

Jin was eager to continue and as soon as Lance began talking he figured he needed to keep the excitement piling, there was a quota of intensity he seemed to hunger for lately and he wasn't meeting up to it. He bolted forward as the Light Dragon Slayer was finishing up his words as he wasn't quite interested enough in his own development to comment. Lance stuck out his hand when Jin halved the distance between them and the orbs of light formed. He didn't even slow his pace at Lance's comment, 'Strongest technique my ass. It's not even registering on my Dragon sense so it can't even be of a power strong enough to slow me down!' He blistered on ahead even as they were sent towards him.

Jin ducked under them a bit as they came since he would have no real idea that the orbs weren't even solid. He let his arm lead in front of his face but he couldn't dodge all the orbs since they were coming in too fast for how close he was at this point. Luckily it was quickly discovered that the orbs would not harm him one bit and he just continued on ready to make this fight physical. Lance would then jump back and Jin thought it could be possible he wanted to stay away from the cracked ground. Jinchu on the other hand embraced the slightly rockier terrain, going back and forth between the sides of the broken area since they wouldn't be too far apart. Leaping lowly off the ending crevice he was dangerously close to Lance, within melee attack range for sure. With a stomp of his left foot he used that to let him rotate his body and dropped down to attempt a spinning back-fist with his right to just above his opponent's hip.

This blow would most definitely hurt if landed, giving a great bruise on impact but since he made the assault he assumed that he would once again miss. He wasn't disheartened by this known likelihood, it gave him all the more reason to go as hard as possible with the attack. There was a purpose behind this movement and that purpose would reveal itself at the right time.

Jinchu didn't waste any magic to dodge the incoming balls of light but that was ok. Jinchu came bolting at Lance, he was trying to force Lance in a close range fight but that wasn't going to happen. As Jinchu made it to the broken ground area Lance's magical power was ready. His body began to glow, and as Jinchu had dropped to the ground and attempted to bring a fist to Lance's hip he jumped high into the air. Lightspeed gave him a small arieal boost but nothing too major. A white circle appeared before Lance's hands. A beam of light shot out at amazing speeds that at this close of range would be almost unavoidable at least in the position he was in.

As the beam shot at Jinchu Lance readied himself for the landing. He brought his right leg up so that he could bring his full body's weight down on Jinchu's head. Light speed would allow his attack to become faster and harder as well. Having both attacks striking at the same time would make it hard for Jinchu to counter both, but if he did Lance had a plan to use the ground as a push off and jump 4 feet behind where he was originally standing, from there he would but some distance between him and Jinchu. If his attack landed Jinchu would loose his sense of sight and have to relay on his other senses. While this was doable it would be alot harder to anticipate where his attacks would come from if he couldn't see.

At Lance's dodge, even from the initial activation of the speed technique he used, Jinchu knew it was going to happen because his senses were giving him that special edge. The spell Jin cast earlier really proved to be more useful than he even originally thought. As the miss came and Jin felt the indication of another powerful spell about to be cast when Lance was nearly completely above him. A crazed look was shown on his face even though the Light Dragon Slayer couldn't see it, it still supplied the proper purpose. It was time for Jin to get into this fight. He surged his magical power to the maximum to unleash his unyielding fire. He tapped into his sacred ability, Flame of Emotion. With that surge of energy fire erupted from his body. It would shoot out way above him and would catch Lance in the crossfire. What would save the other Dragon Slayer from getting hit by the unearthly hot flames would be his own attack of rivaling power. It would be a general stalemate but the powerful force pushed Jin down to his right knee. This meant little to him, as even with Lance's melee attack, he would be burning his own knee before being redirected away from the fire's great power.

The knee burn would be enough to incinerate the clothing and skin but if he moved quick enough, Lance could get out of that with the slight flesh would without any further damage relating to his muscles or nerves. The fire was not really erupting from him any more but more coursing over him in a cloaking manner. With the waves of flame would be dancing around between one and two feet dancing around his body. Wherever Lance was sent after being redirected by the burning force Jin would have turned to look right at him getting to a standing position in a blink. Jin's body was barely discernible from all the wild, powerful fire around him but what would shine through to Lance would be his glowing red eyes. These eyes would look quite scary and ravenous, it was expected for Lance to have a little fear even if he did not show it. Either way he would speed himself over and throw a powerful smashing punch to the gut of Lance as he landed. It would be noticed that he was very fast in this state, even faster than his opponent at this point, not by too much but the difference would be enough to be noticeable as the battle continued on.

If the punch were to land, it would send Jin's target back a few feet, the strength would easily knock the wind out of Lance and the added damage of the cloak was enough to break the more vital bones if he were to aim for them. If the punch hit it without contest then it would mainly offer melee damage instead of being slowed and be given the time to burn anything. If his attack was slowed than it was guaranteed the fire would catch on something and supply dangerous burns over the next few minutes. It seemed from this point on Jinchu was really going to see what Lance was made of, "Now my rampage begins...." His voice sounded echoed with another voice of a deeper register, Lance was now tangling with someone showing a glimpse of the potential that could be achieved with the power of a Fire Dragon.

As Lance's foot and spell came crashing down to Jinchu he could feel the magical energy pulsating off of him. Soon fire roared out of Jinchu making Lance's spell and physical attack useless. The flames roaring off of Jinchu started to sear through Lance's clothing if he didn't move quick Jinchu's ability would leave him crippled. He pushed off Jinchu using light speed ability to land fifteen feet away. Jinchu seemed to be anticipating the move since his eyes were locked on Lance as he landed. Jinchu charged at him with tremendous speeds. Lance could tell right away that light speed wouldn't be much help against him like this. The flames made Jinchu look like a miniature dragon. The way that they rippled off him with such intense heat that Lance could feel even several feet away. If he didn't do something fast Jinchu would get the best of him. He called on his new power creating one of his most powerful techniques. A bright white circle appeared before Lance, out of the circle came a miniature, beautiful, white, dragon appeared. It had no limbs but was long and still rather large for being only a mock of a dragon.

The spells ability couldn't known until it started to fight. The dragon's body was at such high temperatures that it can melt right throw most material including flesh. The spell main purpose was to be used for attacking but it was also a powerful defense ability as well. Lance though was going to use it to cripple Jinchu. The dragon was his fastest attack spell next to hyper flicker the gap between them was almost non existent by the time the spell was created. As Jinchu's fist came at Lance He brought his arms as an X covering his gut, he would still receive burns and some bruising but his bones didn't seem to break, though there might be a fracture that he would need to tend to later. Lance was pushed back a few feet As the punch landed, as he was knocked back he noticed that Jinchu's fire had caught his shirt on fire. As Lance was being pushed back his dragon had wrap itself around Jinchu's arms and legs. Lance quickly remvoed his shirt before the flames could spread and took a few steps back and rubbed the area where Jinchu's attack landed. The burns were nasty but not as bad as they would have been if Lance didn't move back. "Jinchu you have gotten a lot stronger but I think that I've won this time. You truly are the son of the Fire Dragon. But this ability is the child of the Light Dragon is has the potential to fully slice off limbs if you touch its body."

As Lance was talking to Jinchu twinkling stars headed around Jinchu five of them in total. They floated within three feet of Jinchu, there was an orb by each leg, one by his gut, and the final one hovering close to his back. If Jinchu attempted to resist Lance would detonate the orbs, which would cause heavy casualties to Jinchu being as such a close range. Lance darted back a few feet never taking his eyes off Jinchu for a moment, if he did activate the bombs he didn't want to get wrapped up in their damage.

Jinchu landed his blow and he had a magical combo to continue his assault, his magic was activated and a smirk came about his lips. He barely noticed the powerful spell that wrapped around his left arm and leg since they weren't apart of his idea. He stomped down with his right foot the was hiked up and shot his right arm to the side, seemingly for no good reason. Just as his limbs were halfway to complete extension the magic circles appeared. One for each of his moving limbs to strike through. Meanwhile, over at Lance there were two other magic circles that appeared at the exact same time as the two used by Jin. This caused the very instant of their creation there was already flaming body parts passing through them. The one with a flaming leg was placed around the waist area but angled upward towards the chest. The one with the arm was at mid-torso level but put off to the left and angled slightly in so the punch would land on Lance's lower-right ribs. Both the arm and leg were much bigger than the average body part which would make the situation very hard to dodge.

These two hits would cause great damage due to the positioning and the hits being landed at the same time. The powerful kick would instantly break the bones at the top of the rib-cage. Since the punch's damage would help overload the pressure limits the kick would continue to shatter those bones. The punch's damage, with the help of the kick's contribution to caving in the pressure, would shatter the complete bottom-right region of Lance's rib-cage. The part that made this combination so perfect is the fact that it was executed right at the point of Lance ripping off the fiery shirt. He would be caught by surprise by the very rare range attack from Jinchu and his skin would be completely exposed to all the fire damage at first touch.

If the blows were landed, the Light Dragon Slayer would be sent back four to seven full meters before making a dead thud on the ground. After landing Lance would have an accumulation of shattered ribs, bare skin being continuously subjected to second degree burns as the fire would be freely attacking and whipping around its torso, possibly planning to go and burn more of his body, and a possible head issue from the landing. There would be no doubt of his wheezing for air and his inability to really move, unless he were to use a spell to heal this fight was over. Jin expected that he would be able to recover though, he had used a healing magic in their last fight. The only true fact was that it would definitely take a few minutes before he could be completely restored. Even with this it wasn't as if he could celebrate his potential advantage quite yet. There was still this light Dragon sprite that was wrapped around and constricted any movement from his left arm and leg. He tried hard to fight it but even with a bit of resistance he could feel his flesh ripping. He immediately stopped with that and really thought about what he could do next, this powerful technique passed through his Fiery Cloak without so much as being slowed down. At this point he had little options besides to wait and see what happens. The lights that he ran through earlier came back, glowing ominously all around him. He just thought of it as weird but looked on to Lance, very interested in his next move.

Lance was expecting Jinhcu to bow out gracefully but the Fire Dragon Slayer was going to try to keep this fight going as long as possible. He summoned two magical circles around his right arm and right leg, oddly two magical circles also appeared before Lance. He had little time to dodge whatever may be coming out of the circles. Lance flickered behind Jinchu seeing the flaming limbs striking where he once was. He dismissed his stars and turned off light speed. Lance was starting to run low on magic and didn't want to have to end the fight due to him running out.

The dragon around Jinchu's leg began to burn its way through to Jinchu's muscles on his leg and arm destroying them completely and making them now useless. Jinchu wouldn't be able to keep up with Lance even if they both stopped using magic. Plus the loss of his leg and arm would make physical fighting no longer an option leaving the rest of the fight to magical power alone, a category that Lance felt he was stronger than his friend. The dragon wasn't about to let go of Jinchu either, if he decided that he still wanted to fight it wouldn't be a trouble at all to have it slide to Jinchu's right side and do the same there along with causing sever burns along his body as it would slide. Lance would heal him up at the end of the fight so he wasn't too worried about inflicting damage to Jinchu. "Jinchu if you don't give in my dragon will cut right through you." Lance had no clue how Jinchu would react. His dragon could take some heavy damage so unless Jinchu had a few abilities that he was keeping secret Lance couldn't see him getting out of this trap.

Lance had positioned himself after the flicker to be a few feet behind from Jinchu so he could dodge attacks that Jinchu might still up his sleeve. Plus at this angel Jinchu wouldn't be able to see what Lance was doing giving him an edge in striking back if he did try to resist. Lance gathered his magical energy just as a precaution, never knew what Jinchu could be planning. Whatever it is though Lance would be ready. He would make the dragon dig tighter if Jinchu showed any signs of attacking. It would probably come close to slicing the limbs half off if it did but Lance was ready to show Jinchu the full extent of the Light Dragon Slayer.

Lance used his own magic to dodge Jin's attack, an impossible feat except for the fact that there was a very specific spell in Lance's arsenal that could do the trick. It was something Jinchu had overlooked, this made his situation quite problematic. The light sprite began constricting, digging deep in his muscles. The burn he barely felt since he was fueled by his own high temperature fire but there was no doubt that it was cutting into him. Jinchu was quite feral-looking. He would indeed be wanting to take Lance out but just as he was about to raise his magic to another level something clicked within him, 'WAIT!! You don't have full control over this yet, you could seriously harm your friend!.... But if I concede defeat he will think himself stronger than me!... There is always the chance to face him again, what if you go past a point you can't return, you MUST wait until you can master your power, until then he may as well be stronger than you... BUT I CAN WIN THIS!!!!! WHY WOULD I BOW OUT WHEN THIS VICTORY IS WAITING FOR ME TO GRAB IT!?.... Because you don't want to hurt Lance to do it, you are better than that.... AAAAAGH I WON'T FORGIVE MYSELF FOR THIS!!!' The internal struggle that raged on within him subsided in the face of an undeniable truth, Jinchu couldn't beat Lance without the chance of causing substantial damage physically and emotionally.

With this he begrudgingly dispelled his magic, not even mentally acknowledging the damage to his limbs. Naturally a body would drop down in a collapsing fashion from the loss of ability in one leg. It was a couple of silent minutes before Jin's supporting leg started to tremble, getting weak from taking all of the body weight. He was more stubborn than an ox though, he would refuse to look weak at a time like this, "Lance.... Do not believe this ends this. You have yet to see the strength of a Fire Dragon.... I am the man to be the strongest of all mages, when we fight again.... I will not lose." Jin didn't even look back. There was a resentment within him, even disappointment within himself, 'I could've done it..... I'm glad I didn't..... This still sucks.....' He looked on to where the Exceeds went, "Hey!.... Raza, we are leaving, I need one hell of a training session to rectify this!"

Magic: 105/200

Lance is rewarded! Good job you two ^^
