A spar between dragons (Lance vs Jinchu)

Lance walked the streets of Era alone tonight. Moki had decided to stay home and sleep instead of coming with him to watch his spar with Jinchu. He was excited to see the flames that Jinchu could create and he wondered how powerful they must be. There were still a decent amount of people out at this time at night. Mostly the younger generation it looked like though. They seemed to be out partying, he wondered if Ardere was going out tonight and he also wondered if he would see Nix walking the streets. He almost wanted to skip the fight and go out it looked like it was a blast. There were me drunk women and men that were beautiful. He wanted to hang out with them all. But as he continued on his walk to the wooded area that was about half a mile from Era. Lance had sent Moki before he went to bed to give Jinchu the directions so he would know how to get here.

As he reached the area where the two were going to have their duel he took in the landscape well. It was a cloudless night with a large full moon illuminating the battlefield just as well as the sun. He saw that there was a break from the woods into a small clearing. The clearing was surrounded by woods from three sides but from the direction opposite direction from where Lance had entered was a small cliff area with a few large trees growing on top of it and a small plateau of grass. It seemed like a good place to wait for Jinchu. He climbed up the small cliff and sat down by a tree. He hoped that Jinchu would be a good fighter.

It was quite interesting as Jinchu sat in a tree waiting for his new friend, he bolted to the location that Moki told him but Raza chose not to come along. He figured this first battle should be Jin alone, whoever wins he would be around to catch the inevitable rematch anyways. Jin was a little sad his buddy wouldn't be able to watch him face another Dragon Slayer but it was true that he needed to do some more training of his own, 'I guess it's good that he gets some benefit from this too, sometimes you gotta just train alone, I know that more than most, haha.' He thought to himself as he saw a hand appear, grabbing the top of the cliff just ahead. With a pull the hand proved to belong to someone Jin knew, the exact person he wanted to see.

The man made his way and sat down right next to the tree Jin was in, 'Haha! I can't believe he didn't notice me, I could start this fight off with a bang!' He was obviously kidding, that would be untrustworthy and spineless. Instead he decided he would just simply surprise Lance. He bent his knees, not making a sound. The moment of suspense piled up and once it couldn't get any higher Jin lunged through the branches, and once he made his way through it would look like he was flying from the tree, "YAHOOOOOOOOO!" he yelled with great force, most likely even carrying over to Era, which was a typical thing Jin would do. He landed with a roll, diagonally over his back to absorb all the force without issue.

He popped up and turned, nearly at the edge of the plateau, "I was waiting for you, HAHA!" A wide goofy smile plastered his face and his hands were on his hips. His body was angled to the side but he turned with his torso looking directly at the Light Dragon Slayer, "You ready!?" he spoke almost as in a taunt, "Cuz I'm about to bring the heat, hehe!" His gaze got a little fierce, and the same with his smile, they had an edge to them that just instilled fear in most, maybe it was how unexpected the look was from someone previously thought to be so goofy, "I'll give you the first move, hehe.." As his voice got a little excited a little natural flame came off from his leading left arm around the tricep region and he flexed the forearm.

Lance was enjoying the nice night waiting for Jinchu to finally appear. He starred off into the stars thinking of his mother and where ever she may be. He almost didn't notic breaking of branches above him alone with Jinchu's battle cry. It caught him off guard but as Jinchu touched ground Lance was already darting to the opposite edge of where Jinchu landed. He seemed ready and willing to go. He even offered Lance the first attack, something that he may regret later. "Well that was interesting entrance Jinchu, and thanks for giving me first shot. Well I have a new ability that I'd think you would enjoy." Lance held out his had creating a magic circle while at the same time hopping off the edge to avoid any counter attacks Jinchu might have. He slid down the small slope with relative easy and took a few steps back his spell had already been casted he saw the small circles appearing all around Jinchu right before he disappeared.

There were six circles in total three appeared in a diagonal angle to his front while the other three from his back. When he summoned them he wanted to make sure that it would be hard to dodge them, he wanted to see what Jinchu would do. He had never before fought a Dragon Slayer, but he had seen a bit of Ard's power. If Jin was anything like that then it would be pretty interesting. The daggers appeared each set 2 feet from Jinchu. They shimmered in the air giving off warm soothing glows masking their true power. They could only do alittle damage but it was mostly minor injuries. The daggers flew at Jinchu as the fully materialized hoping to find his skin as their resting place.

Jinchu was initially seeing if he could get a good warm-up, he wanted to really be able to move and such. Lance spoke about a new ability which caused Jinchu to raise an eyebrow out of amusement. Since the attack was specifically aimed at him and it was the plan to get a good spar going, Jin assumed that the attack was going to be offensive. As soon as Lance's hand was pointed to him he already ducked down, seeing the lights form a little above him now and he was glad he made the instinctual movement to do so. He didn't even look at the attack, diving over the edge as soon as possible, he only looked back to see the slow-moving light daggers collide, 'Interesting but too slow for a light-attack, is he trying to trip me up?'

Jinchu wasn't really sliding down the cliff wall as much as flying down alongside it only saving himself from a painful landing on his head because he kicked the wall hard, making a deep thudding noise, flipping himself over to just barely land in a crouch with his feet and one hand in-between them for extra stability while his right hand was out to the side for balance. He smirk came to Jin's face as his hair and the flaps of his jacket went a little wild around him the force of his drop. He quickly scanned left and right, he was on Lance's heels so he couldn't have hidden himself before Jin got a glimpse. He saw him in the corner of his left eye and acknowledged it with a smile, "How about we get a little more serious than that...." He purposefully stood up slowly and closed his eyes as if meditating on something, expecting Lance to make a move as quickly as possible, 'Alright it's your move, what will you force me to do?' Jinchu knew that after a couple more moves he would begin some attacks of his own but he chose to wait until the time was right to reveal the destructive power of a Fire Dragon Slayer.

Lance stood at the base waiting to hear Jinchu's reaction he expected him to dodge it, since the spell wasn't too fast yet but when he saw Jinchu toppling down the hill he couldn't help but laugh a bit. He seemed to hit hit head when landing, probably nothing for a dragon slayer though. Jinchu seemed to want Lance to attack again, he figured he was trying to wear Lance down, well that wasn't going to happen. "Ok Jinchu, nice job dodging my new spell, but thats just the start of the party." Lance charged at Jinchu he didn't activate any magic but his physical speed and strength were higher than a normal human due to being a dragon slayer, but Jinchu would be the same.

He covered the ground rather quickly and brought up his right knee attempting to deliver a fast jab to Jinchu's midsection. He was hoping to knock the wind out of him and temporary. He wan't too concern about receiving damage from any counter attack that Jinchu might have planned on using. It would waste some magic but he could patch up the wound easy.

Jin's eyes snapped open at the sound of his sparring partner's voice, he was going to wait and use his senses to respond to the inevitable attack but it seemed he was too excited to play passive. His fierce smile came about when Lance attacked him, he was expecting to face an attack with a little more intensity but it was good to know the Light Dragon Slayer didn't senselessly use his magic. The attack was very direct though, giving him many options at this point. Once the attack was sent for his gut, Jin put a little response into motion. He rotated his body so the fist would pass by to miss by an inch and used that momentum to barrel his left fist into the side of Lance's head.

Jin knew that his partner, being a Dragon Slayer would not be beaten by something that little even though the blow would send a jarring message to his brain if it landed. The blow would also cause a bruise and some swelling over time. Preparing for a counter to his attack, Jinchu readied a specific spell but didn't choose to let it loose until the situation called for it. He also had his right arm cocked and ready to begin a barrage of blows if Lance initiated for the fight to go that way. If the blow hit then Jin would stay stationary, seeing what his opponent's response would be. If the attack missed Jin would follow up with a crushing knee to the gut with his right leg as he moved forward, easily knocking the wind out of Lance if it landed.

Jinchu avoided his attack with such ease and even planned a counter one in the process. Lance had to act fast. He brought his foot down on the ground and put as much force as he could in it allowing him to jump a few inches away dodging his fist. The distance wasn't too far from Jin but enough for neither f them to be in the other's arm reach. Jinchu had proven to be good at melee fighting and his reaction speed to his spell was impressive too. Lance wasn't going to win in a fight based on just melee. He had already used one spell so he wanted to keep his magic reserve as full as possible, he needed to conserve.

Jinchu had not even shown his yet. He didn't know just how strong the fire dragon slayer was. Both of them stood there in the field with the large full moon above them, illuminating the whole battle for the gods to watch. He wanted to see what Jinchu could do. He wanted Jinchu to come to him this time. He shifted his body to a more defensive stance If Jinchu planned on coming at him he wasn't going to be caught off guard. Lance prepared his magic in case Jinchu surprised him with a powerful magical attack, he wanted to be able to throw up a shield at any given moment.

The sudden halt from Lance was a pleasant surprise for Jin, he was able to fight with someone who understood his skill at least a little before diving in. This was not saying he considered the other Dragon Slayer inferior but he was glad to have put some sense of caution in him this early, it could be useful. His miss was not a total loss, he could make use of it in a way. He continued the punch way past the initial mark aiming it down at the ground. As he did this he whipped his legs and body around to follow through with the momentum, spinning momentarily airborne. His punching fist opened into a flat palm to land and hold himself while the full force of his body was behind the kick that would extend to smash into an unsuspecting Lance, it would hit him hard slamming his right side and would send him about a meter to the left.

This attack would most likely catch Jin's opponent unawares because he probably expected him to recover before beginning to attack. If the blow landed then he would drop his other arm and push himself with the kick so when Lance was knocked to the side Jin would be standing upright, only skidding an inch. If the attack missed then Jinchu was going to let the kick follow through, using the time Lance would need to dodge to allow his body to come back and pop back up to his standing position. Being in amazing shape physically from his Dragon Slayer training along with his specific fighting style, Jinchu was a very acrobatic combatant which only attributed his ability with melee combat. He was beginning to really get pumped, "Hehe... Not bad. DEFINITELY a Dragon Slayer, HAH!" Jin had meant that to be a compliment but whether Lance it that way or not made no difference to him, "But it's time to get more serious, don't ya think!?" His eyes were fierce and focused on whatever Lance was going to do next, his excited smile present as always.

Jinchu seemed to want to turn his miss punch into a counter attack, a pretty smart plan and one that if Lance wasn't ready for would have caught him off guard. A bright white circle appeared beneath Lance just as Jin's legs were being brought up. He darted 10 feet away from Jinchu quickly avoiding the attack. His skin shimmered in the moonlight. His mind and body already were speeding up he could feel his muscles acking to run. He didn't want to use magic but Jinchu was a better physical fighter than himself, he had to hope that he wasn't as good with magic. Lance's physical skills overall increase to unmatched amounts with this skill but it was a constant drain on his magic. He needed to end this battle before he ran out. "Sorry Jin I just can't keep up with you in a physical battle, not my fighting style. But I came up with this ability, I'm hoping to improve it even further but I hope you find it quite a challenge. Makes the tempo of the battle a bit, oh quicker."

Lance darted at Jinchu as fast as he could the 10 feet was a blink at this speed. He outstretched his arm to make a cloths liner. "Don't worry Jinchu I'll patch us right up after this battle we can go all out." He wanted to knock Jinchu off his feet, maybe that would give him enough time to launch another attack or maybe it would knock the wind out of him. At this speed it was bound to leave a nasty bruise and make their throats hurt pretty bad. Any faster and it could crush the wind pipe. He was going to heal them both up at the end of the match so he didn't mind going all out.

The sudden blast back was to be expected, it was the only sure way Lance would have avoided the attack. The only problem was, even as it stood, Lance’s spell clearly made him much faster than Jinchu at this point. He was a good distance away in what seemed like a blurred motion and already got in a ready intent on speeding back. A smirk appeared slyly on his face as his prepared spell from earlier before was going to get some use. He could only keep up with Lance with his eyes at this moment so letting him come at him was the best plan. He crossed his arms, palms facing his opponent as a form of defense to protect his upper-half. The light Dragon Slayer sped in, his arm stretched out and attempted to take him out from the neck. The blow came in contact with Jin’s crossed forearms which did little damage based on the nature of the blow versus his defending arms, ‘Hmmm. Minor bruises in a few minutes but that’s ok, not enough to interfere.’

The genius within it all was Jin was in the perfect spot to counter the attack. As soon as Lance’s attack made contact he released his own magic, the flaming claws immediately shot out, six inches long coming out the top of his hands. He decided to be quick about it and skipped the usual wind-up and slashed diagonally with both hands. This movement was happening just as he was being pushed back by the attempted clothesline, his six claws shooting out a meter long each with his attack, nearly guaranteeing a hit. The damage would slice into his opponent’s arm and all down from his shoulder, cutting through skin and a little into the muscle due to the direct access. The burn would definitely cause more intense issues due to it being applied to the open wounds causing a constant pain. He stood at his spot after the attack, whether the blow landed or missed, Lance would’ve been forced to back off. He clenched his left fist, “You might want to worry about getting patched, yourself haha!” His voice was still coursing with anticipation. It was getting to be a rather engaging fight, “C’mon! I WANNA SEE YOU GO ALL OUT!”

He waited, knowing he would be attacked quite soon, most likely due to Lance’s speed but if the slash did land he would need a second to deal with it. Some fire naturally began to reignite on from his arms again and some also spouted from his left shoulder. It would cause no damage to Lance since it wasn’t an actual smile but it was a symbol that Jinchu was slowly getting more and more serious, eventually he was going to get wild and that was going to be a sight to behold.

As hit arm made contact with Jin he could feel the flames digging into his skin. Jinchu was finally starting to get serious. Lance needed to get the wounds taken care of or they could hurt him later down the road. He sprinted away from Jinchu getting at least 30 feet in between them. The wound to his arm wasn't too bad Jinchu was able to cut kinda of deep but nothing that a quick touch up wouldn't fix. Lance brought his left hand and griped his right arm near the wound and let off a soft glow in his hand. Already the cuts where closing. The pain had already been relieved, and in no time his arm was back to being in tip top shape.

"Dang Jin thats some reaction timing you have there. glad you could keep up a bit. Your defiantly a strong enemy that is for sure." Lance kept his distance from Jinchu, he still kept lightspeed activated in case Jinchu had some range moves. From this distance any move thrown at him he could dodge with relative ease. He would wait to see what Jinchu would do next.

As before his brain is able to process at higher speeds allowing him to also become more aware and heightens his reflexes even more.

It was a little bit of a surprise that Lance actually got hit by his move, finally he actually landed a blow on his opponent. He was about to move as the Light Dragon Slayer was tending to his wounds but was stopped by his voice. He just grunted at the compliment with a softer smile on his face, "Thanks... In case you didn't notice, you are quite fast yourself!" The fact is that Lance was a good deal faster than Jinchu, he just didn't want to let him know why he was able to seem faster than he was, 'Haha! As long as he's the one that comes at me, I can move my arms to block since the distance of the movement is so much shorter. I'm going to be next to useless if I am forced to chase him.' Even with that thought he got into a more aggressive stance, it was clear Lance was going to stay on the defensive, at least for the moment, 'I'm gonna chase him down anyways, hehe!'

He had a scary-determined look on his face. He thought of announcing his attack but that idea faded as he was more a man of action. This was going to be a slaughter if he went in blind so he had a plan to use a spell as soon as he was faced with a situation where he might loose track of his sparring partner's movements. With this plan in mind he blasted forward, angling to the left then after going ten feet forward then sharply turned the other way to do the same on the other side, kicking up dust as he made his turn. He did the same thing again so he made a bolt pattern on his way to Lance. He was moving quite fast considering there was no enhancement but it was at best half of his opponent's speed. If he was uninterrupted then he would continue at Lance with an attack, leaping in the air and raising his arms then bringing them down with force to attempt landing a two-handed hammer-fist right on the Light Dragon Slayer's head. He knew he had virtually no chance of making the move land but he wanted to see what Lance would do.

Magic 90/100

Lance's arm was all healed up by the time Jinchu started his attack. It was simple enough a zig zag approach to confuse Lance but he saw right through it. His mind was racing with counters, he could use a spell, run away, charge in head on at Jinchu, but none of them sounded right. Well he did have a spell that was pretty usefull in combat and he hadn't ever used it. He got the magical power in his hand ready. It could be seen as a cheap shot but it was a good strategy. The dust that Jinchu was causing to stir up in the air made it harder for him to see Jinchu but there was no doubt in where he was, he could see the shadow inside the small dust cloud, though it could hardly be called a cloud. When Jinchu had narrowed the gap between the two Lance held out his hand causing a blinding light to illumiate the night. The beams intensity was at its fullest with Jinchu so close. While the lights after effects would distract Jinchu Lance took off as fast as he can to circle Jin and come from his back side.

He was able to get to Jinchu rather quickly with his speed. With all his might he attempted to deliver a blow that if successful would knock Jinchu square in the back and with the added speed and force should force Jinchu's body to topple to the ground giving Lance the proper time to get distance between the two. Jinchu was fast but there was no way he was close to Lance's speed.

It was a little inconvenient but to be expected that a Light Dragon Slayer would be able to pull out a blinding spell at some point. He just closed his eyes and let his body continue with the motion of his body to smash down and activated his magic like he planned. Upon invoking his magic his skin altered a bit, hardening and in certain areas there were crisscrossing eyes revealing a lizard-like skin. His skin also looked shiny, reflecting a little more light like scales. When he dropped his back was bent forward because his fists smashed the ground, landing in a crouched position. When Lance came back around to punch him in the back his bent-back and descent caused the blow to be glancing instead of a full blow. It still would have been enough to offer a bruise and some pain but Jin's spell took care of that, taking enough of the force that he didn't feel it too much besides the initial sting.

He smiled even as he was hit, thrusting himself forward and away from Lance. It looked like he was going to get far away from the speedy opponent but he was actually doing the opposite. He only went a meter's length, still in the air and shot his hand to the ground, halting his motion and swung around like he was going hard for Lance but he let his lower right leg drop and caught himself before trying to attack, maintaining the distance. After that he pushed with his arm on the ground so he was straight-up again. With that motion he jumped skyward with all his might, still unable to see where Lance was but he knew that he was somewhere in front of him about a meter or two away in distance. His feet were a few inches above Lance's head but he was still just as far away, "You are good..."



Magic 80/100

As his attack landed he could feel the toughness of Jin's skin, it was similar to a dragon. The punch didn't seem to phase him too much but, Lance was running out of options. He had canceled lightspeed to conserve magic, he was going to try to take Jinchu out in the next attack, he didn't know how strong it would be since it was the first time he would use it but it was now or never. Last he saw Jinchu had jumped into the air. It was hard to tell where he was at first but Lance was able to locate him easily. He was in the air, perfect. No where to run now. Lance formed a circle around his mouth. "Well Jinchu you've got me in a corner now I'm having to use this move in its test stages still. Heavenly Breath"The last part sounded more similar to a roar than Lance's own voice.

The light blasted out of his mouth at high speeds. This move was his most destructive in his arsnal and made him a real dragon slayer. It was able to encompass a 15 foot by 15 foot radius and was a fast acting attack. Jinchu wasn't far away enough to escape the blast's radius and this spell was especially nasty to fire and lightning mages since it is able to rip through their defenses easier than other magics. He didn't know how Jinchu would react or if Jinchu could react. He realized the burns that it normally caused would probably not harm Jinchu since he was the fire dragon but this was Lance's last shot and he knew it.

As he reached the height of his jump, Jin arched his back far enough so it was towards the ground, leaving him facing the sky, completely taking his eyes off of his opponent. He was preparing his magic, hoping his plan would work as he envisioned. He heard the sound of Lance’s voice and slyly smirked even though it wouldn’t be seen by his opponent, ‘He has taken the bait, now to reel him in.’ He spoke about a specific move he was going to use and it was a last resort, Jinchu knew exactly what to expect, usually the ultimate attack in a Dragon Slayer’s arsenal was the roar of the slayer’s respective style. Seeing as he did not want to reveal the full power of his roar and using his supreme defensive spell would give away too much info for when they fought again, he had something else in mind and used it right before Lance uttered the “H” in “Heavenly Breath”.

A magic circle appeared under him and he was enveloped in a spontaneous flame. Not even a second after that he was shot forward, in this that would mean he was sent to the sky at a speed to easily get out of the attack’s range. The brilliance of the timing was Jin’s initiation of the technique soon enough he needn’t worry about the blast and late enough that Lance couldn’t recollect himself and aim. His spiralling flame attack was used as a perfect defense in this case. The Light Dragon Slayer’s roar shot out a little under Jinchu as he dispelled the move early and he began dropping down, accumulating speed and leaning into the opportunity to double hammer-fist his opponent. He would have come down to attack just after the roar finished because of the timing, giving Lance a second to get out of the way but it was unlikely he would dodge because of the height advantage. If the blow landed then the added force from the rapid decent would be added in the powerful strike and with it being aimed at Lance’s head, it would slam him and send him to the ground.

Jin also thought about what would happen after that and if his offensive move landed he would continue with letting his right knee to slam hard into his back from being put to the ground by the hammer-fist. The knee would not do any sort of crippling damage, just enough to heavily bruise the mid-back area and slow down his movements a little but only if the knee landed. If the hammer-fist were to miss, Jinchu would continue by landing powerfully on the ground, smashing against the earth and bound off to make a strong diving in Lance’s dodging direction, to hit hard in his stomach region which would knock the wind out of him and possibly topple him over if he was caught off-balance.

Lance was sure Jinchu had been caught up in the blast but the fire in the sky proved otherwise. Jinchu was coming at lance fast he brought his arms as an X above his hand. He was almost put of magic and this was a physical battle now. Lance know that he had lost. As Jinchu slammed into him he began to sucking in the flames coming off Jinchu. They were hotter than normal flames but they gave birth to light so Lance was able to eat them. It took down a bit of the damage that the impact would have had and allowed lance to keep his footing but was pushed back a few feet. As Jinchu tried to knee him it the back Lance grabbed his left leg throwing Jinchu to the ground. He might not have light speed activated but he had pretty high reflexes just not the muscles to back them up. He threw Jinchu slightly away from him but tried to be as gentle as possible. "You've beat me Jinchu, I'm out of magical power and your alot stronger physically than me. But it was a fun battle, can't wait to fight beside somebody like you."

Jin was smiling as his leg was grabbed, he could have protested and followed up with something else but it looked like his point was being made. Lance seemed to be put to the edge of his ability at this point so it was better to just get tossed aside. He landed with relative ease, it seemed Lance either was quite weak at the moment or was conceding defeat. Jinchu figured it might be a little bit of both because he was put to the point of needing to eat flame and get partial energy just to handle the attack. His heal as he landed dug into the ground as he made ready to get another dashing shot in but was halted on the spot because the Light Dragon Slayer began to speak. He nodded but was slightly sad. He wanted to be able to go all out, not that his opponent didn't challenge him at every step, he just wanted to go like a brawl, it was in his nature to try and be the last man standing.

Jin smiled, it looked a little strange for him to smile as his scales were still active for the moment. He felt a bit of the strain of battle and made an innocent laugh, "Yeah I think we could make an elite task force if we went for it! I have to say you are one of the best I have faced in the past while." With that he began to walk away, his scales slowly reverting as he went, "I gotta go let Raza know what happened. Maybe I'll get in another few fights before the night is over, HAHA!" His voice got less fierce as he went on, "By the way whenever you want to fight or train or even vent anger LET ME KNOW! Lance knew that he had to become alot stronger if he ever wanted to face Jinchu. Jinchu had left the area before they could talk any further. Lance didn't mind though he needed to go rest. It was a fun battle and he learned his mistakes in battle, things that leave him open, he wouldn't forget them and try to correct them the best he can. For one he wasn't so much magic keeping lightspeed up for so long he would have to work out a strategy to counter Jinchu's overall brute strength. He had alot to do.
