| This girl better appear before I lose what little patience I have...
Cracking her knuckles, Eve stood in front of a large tree and glared at the dark recesses of the forest. She had been there for about 30 minutes now, and her impatience was growing with each second that ticked by. Every few minutes she'd either tap her foot or kick the dirt beneath her feet. And if she doesn't... A vein pulsed in her forehead, and she fought to keep her cool. "She'll be here," she muttered, leaning back against the tree.
The area around her was your average dense forest; trees about 5 or 10 feet apart, a lot of dirt on the ground, some grass peeking out in certain spots, underbrush ready to tear people's clothing... And the sunlight was blocked by the canopy above, so the place seemed to glow with daylight. There weren't any shadows, but if one were looking into the distance, all they would see were trees. Lots of trees.
I wouldn't even be here if the woman knew when she'd lost a simple game. It was easy to tell, really. The game was your average little card trick - no need to get too worked up over it or spend too much money betting. But nooo, this person had to come along and screw Eve over.
"It was a tie!"
"Like hell is was! I clearly won the bet, so back off!" Eve reached for the tiny pile of jewels on the wooden box, but the woman mirrored her movements. Their hands touched the money at the exact same moment, and each gave the other a look. Eve's was full of disgust, but she didn't care to note what the other's was full of. "Give me my jewels," she demanded, holding her steady gaze.
The woman refused, of course, stating that the money was hers since she won the bet and beat the game fair and square. Eve, knowing for a fact that she actually won, refuted her claims and tried to take the money again. But the woman was persistent; to settle the argument, she suggested they each take half of the jewels and sort things out through a battle. Eve, not wanting to stay in the dimmed alley any longer, reluctantly agreed and set the time and place.
"And now she's late," she hissed, slamming her fist into the tree's rough bark. She quickly pulled back, however, as she really wasn't that physically strong and didn't have a high pain tolerance. "Bloody hell!" Biting her lip, she resisted crying out and simply held her throbbing hand, praying to the heavens that the wasn't near enough to see that. She took a deep breath and forced herself to look collected. Stay calm. Don't attack in anger. Play nicely.
Eve scoffed, ruling out that last idea. Play nicely, my ass. This fool is going down. She gritted her teeth. The fact that it was another woman was even stranger; Eve rarely found herself playing sketchy gambling games in alleys with women. All the more reason to beat her quickly and get my money!

| A hooded figure stepped forward at a snails pace attempting to navigate some god-forsaken forest in the middle of nowhere. For a moment she wondered if she'd spend her entire life exploring the forests of the world at the request of random people she happened to meet. She shook that thought from her head and looked up to find... That she was going in a circle. Why did all of the trees here look the same! She took a deep breath and tried cutting through the center of the circle. She side stepped a few tree branches but the last one caught her off guard and pulled the hood off of her head before swinging back and knocking her off of her feet. She got back on her feet with a flushed face, opting to leave the hood down for the duration of this trek. Why had the girl reacted like this anyways? Why fight over a little game. In fact, she paused to think. Aila had definitely been the winner so why was she even going along with this? As she stepped forward she ran face first into a tree. "The last straw" she whispered to herself "Requip: Angel Shroud". Her usual black cloak let out a white glow and split down the middle before taking on a wing-like design. She felt the effects of the cloak immediately. Her body felt incredibly light. She bounced on her heels waiting her body to get used to the enchantment. With a quick kick off of the ground she landed on a tree branch and looked around. "Ah!" she spotted the sore loser and leaped down, landing in front of her with only the light crunch of the leaves. She looked... angry to say the least. It was a shame because her happy face ,from when she believed she had won, was pretty cute. Aila stood awkwardly for a moment before deciding to apologize. "Sorry! I got lost" she said with a small bow "But you did pick the middle of the forest so..." 95/100 - Spoiler:

| ((You need to post the spell's information in a spoiler tag and say how much MP you have left now~ )) At the sound of leaves crunching, Eve almost jumped out of her skin. Almost. "Why does it matter that we're in a forest?" Her tone was a little harsh, but she wasn't in the mood for being playful. "I don't have all day. Let's get this over with..." Keeping her eyes on the girl, she reached down to her card holder and brushed her fingers across it, deciding what spell to use. Ah, she thought. That one. With a quick hand, she pulled out a card and held it in front of her. "Water Slicer!" The card glowed an aqua color, and a slice of water 3 feet long shot out at Aila. "Let's start this simple," Eve muttered, her eyes beginning to sparkle. This should be fun.- Spoiler:
Name: Water Slicer Rank: D Magic Cost: 10 Requirements: Hold the card in the direction you wish the water to go in. Class: Offense Element: Water Effect: This spell causes a slash of water about one inch thick to rush at the opponent. It moves horizontally and is about 3 feet long, and it uses such force that it can cut a small tree branch or make a tiny indention in a tree. It only goes about 20 feet before fizzling out (unless an objects stops it). It travels at 10 meters/second. Cooldown: 3 Duration: Instant History: Eve bought this spell from a merchant visiting Hargeon. She doesn't use it often since, living in Hargeon, water is everywhere. It's a newer spell, so she hasn't used it on a job yet. People get mad at her if she harms the nearby trees, so this card usually goes unused.

| (Sorry! I edited it in) Aila smiled with a slight red hue on her face "There's nothing wrong with it... I'm just kinda bad with directions" The woman appeared to be rather angry at her and Aila wasn't too sure why. Was losing really so bad? She started to offer a draw when... she pulled out a card. Was she challenging her to another game? Why'd they have to meet in the forest for that? "Water Slicer" Eh? Aila felt the force of the spell hit her head on and kick her back into a tree trunk. She fell to her hands and knees and gasped for breath. Attacking an unarmed opponent!? That was rather rude. She coughed a few times as air came back into her lungs. "Fine" she muttered as she stood. She tapped the toes of her shoes on the ground a few times and reached her hand out in front of her, index finger out and directed at Eve. "Fine!" she repeated rather lamely. She crouched slightly and kicked off of the ground followed by another jump off of the tree she had hit. With a soft thud she landed on the tree behind Eve. She wobbled slightly on top of the tree branch, but caught herself and held her hand out. "Requip: Midnight" she muttered focusing on the image of her oldest weapon. The familiar circle appeared and she pulled the scythe from within it. Before the circle could disappear she swung the scythe to meet it. "Wind Cutter!" she shouted as a blade of wind 1 foot long burst free and traveled toward Eve. - Spoiler:

| Eve watched the girl get nailed by her spell. "Well that's kind of underwhelming," she muttered, putting her card back in its holster. Aila coughed a few times, and Eve actually felt a little sorry for her; she hadn't expected the spell to actually hit dead on. Well, she thought, watching Aila stand back up. Maybe this one isn't going to be too tough to beat... When her opponent seemed to take flight, however, Eve began to worry just a bit. "Requip: Midnight." A scythe appeared, and Eve's eyes widened. A ReQuip mage, Eve? Really? You had to pick a fight with one of them? Gritting her teeth, she contemplated what to do. Before she came up with a plan, Aila had launched a wind attack at her. "Wind! What the hell am I supposed to do against wind!" Eve, at this moment, really wished she were athletic enough to jump and do one of those little roll things on the ground, but she would have probably broken a bone with such an attempt. Instead, she settled for turning and running towards Aila's perch, narrowly dodging the wind blade. "My hat!" she cried. Apparently she wasn't as fast as she thought she was, because the wind gust was still able to send the woman's hat flying. Ohh, you've done it now, punk. Eve glared up at her opponent. "Why don't you come down here and face me like a real woman?" she taunted, cracking her knuckles as she did so. What to do, what to do... Reaching down to her holster, she pulled out another card and slammed it onto the ground with her palm. "Earth Shake!" The ground before Eve, all the way up to Aila's tree, began to violently tremble. Let the Angel fall from Heaven, Eve thought. Maybe she'll lose a tooth on her way down.- Spoiler:
Name: Earth Shake Rank: D Magic Cost: 10 Requirements: Place card on ground in front of Eve. Class: Offense/Supplementary Element: Earth Effect: Once activated, the card glows and causes the earth around Eve to shake. (Like a mini earthquake). The ground does not, however, break apart or gain cracks (tiny rocks may slightly move). This may be used to divert an opponent's attention or shake something out of a tree, for example. This card cannot be used on water, but it can be used on cement or any earth-based type floor. Cannot be used on wood. CD: 2 Dur: Instant

| Aila smiled triumphantly as she watched the hat fly off of Eve's head. It was her first time being remotely on target with that spell. So she couldn't bee too mad that it had only managed to remove her hat. She watched Eve's facial expressions as they changed from confident to surprised and then to anger. She also pulled out another of those trading card looking things at some point. This time Aila was ready though! The woman wasn't attacking an unprepared target and at this distance she had plenty of time to dodge. She was a little caught off guard when Eve caused an earthquake! There really were all kinds of different mages in the world huh? She relaxed and allowed herself to fall forward towards Eve. After a small flip she focused on another spell. The split pieces of her cloak let out a bright glow and a magic circle appeared behind her. "Angel's Descent" she whispered pulsing a bit of magic through the cloak. Suddenly her free fall stopped and she drifted over Eve's head and into a tree. The glow died off as quickly as it had started. She kicked off of the tree towards Eve and swung the back end of the scythe at her. She honestly didn't want to kill the girl, maybe just teach her a lesson about honoring your bets! - Spoiler:

| Whack!Eve had been unprepared for Aila's flying trick and was caught off guard by a blow to the back. The wind was knocked out of her, and she went toppling to the ground. "Ughh!" She got grass in her mouth after falling, and she breathed a piece in as she tried to catch her breath. After doing so, she spit out the grass and glared up at Aila. "You'll pay", she hissed, pulling out another card. "Spade Storm," she breathed, holding the card above her. She remained on the ground as the card took effect. 50 spades flew in from varying angles, but they all focused on Aila, aiming to slice her up. - Spoiler:
Name: Spade Storm Rank: C Magic Cost: 20 Requirements: Have the card in hand Class: Offense Element: No element Effect: Once activated, 50 spades come in from the sky - but not from straight above the opponent. They seem to fly in like birds and come at an angle, swooping down and cutting the desired object. The spades are about the size of a normal person's fist, and they come in at different intervals - just not in waves. They come from all directions. The cuts they make are about 1/2 inch deep and do little more than irritate the skin, but after a moment, the spade's effect kicks in. The cuts will begin to burn, causing intense pain that lasts for 3 turns after they disappear. Cooldown: 2 Duration: 1 post after summoned

| Aila was ecstatic! Was battling another mage always this exhilarating? The hit had landed as planned and sent her into a toppled over mess. Sure she seemed even angrier now, but Aila felt amazing! She bounced a few times on her feet feeling both light and extremely energetic. When Eve managed to stand and pull another card Aila was prepared for the worst she held her scythe before her, ready to defend or even dodge. She crouched slightly and prepared to lunge for another attack when... A bunch of shadows surrounded her. Eh? She spun in a small circle eyeing the many spades speeding towards her. W-was she always this strong!? Her mind snapped into action. She wasn't naive enough to believe she was leaving this unscathed, however she could at least minimize it. "Requip" she muttered as the weapon in her hand let out a bright glow "Cerberus!" The familiar red blade appeared first, followed by a chain and a dagger which landed safely in her other hand. But it didn't stop there. With the spades fast approaching she turned and bit her lip preparing for a a little bit of pain. She kicked off of the ground and into a series of spades. With a small spin she allowed the spades to cut into her back. Meanwhile she tossed the chain at Eve hoping to snare her and and pull her into her own attack. - Spoiler:

| "Whaaa!" Eve cried, having been caught by Aila's chain. She was being pulled towards her own attack, and she really didn't like it. Using my own spell against me?! Since when is that allowed in these kinds of fights! Grumbling under her breath, she quickly tried to think of a spell to use. "Aha!" Whipping out another card, she held it in the air towards Aila. As she was now partially in range of her own spell, her leg began to be cut by the spades. "Lightning Shot!" she screamed, almost frantic at that point. A blast of lightning shot out of her magic circle, and Eve hoped to the skies above that it would hit or at least have her release Eve. She really wasn't fond of the idea of the side affects from her spades. - Spoiler:
Name: Lightning Shot Rank: D Magic Cost: 10 Requirements: Have card in hand Class: Offense Element: Lightning Effect: When activated, the card glows and a single lightning strike shoots from the card. It goes about 15ft. When someone is hit, it singes whichever spot is his (if it only nicks their hair, it singes their hair. If the body is hit, they feel an unpleasant tingle and may get a slight burn. (Nothing life-threatening.)

| 'That was... kind of disappointing' Aila thought feeling only tiny cuts across her back 'I guess it was all for show?' She landed safely on the ground still facing Eve. She tugged at the chain as hard as she could hoping to share the annoyance of being scratched so many times. However, Eve didn't seem to enjoy her idea. Another card let out a glow before her. "Lightning-" That was all Aila needed to here to prepare her defense "Requip: Twili" She shouted feeling her weight shift as the usual glow took over her cloak. What once was white fused and grew dark, the ends tattered. Finally a shadowy hood wrapped around her head. Keeping her grip on the chain Aila pulled the cloak before her. It still caused a bit of pain, but it at least cushioned the blow. She attempted to give the chain a final tug but found that being shocked at left her feeling a bit weaker than usual. Not wanting to miss this chance she forced a burst of magic through her cloak. It formed a hand that quickly wrapped it's way around the chain and pulled. The scratches on her back began to burn and caused her to wince, but she caught herself, managing to grit her teeth and bear with it for the moment. - Spoiler:

| "Shit, shit, shittttt!" Eve's cuts on her left leg began to burn, and she clenched her fists, unable to do anything about it. "Damn you," she cried, her gaze throwing daggers at Aila. "You're not supposed to use my spells against me! Who the hell does that?!" She felt a vein pulse in her forehead, and as she was given a sharp tug towards Aila, she took solace in the fact that her spades and effectively disappeared. Whipping out another card (after retuning Spade Storm), she held it in the air above her since she was on her back on the ground. "Diamond Strike!" The card in her hand sharpened into an offensive weapon, and with a sweep of Eve's hand, the newly summoned offensive cards went zooming towards Aila. - Spoiler:
Name: Diamond Strike Rank: C Magic Cost: 20 Requirements: Have the card in hand Class: Offense Element: No element Effect: This card summon more cards (sharpened, offensive cards) to attack with. The number of cards depends on the number of the original card (IE: Card number 7 will summon 6 extra cards with sharp edges to attack with - the original card's edges are also sharpened). The cards move forward with the sweep of Eve's arm, and all but the original card disappears upon contact. The original card will remain in/on the opponent/whatever stopped it until Eve or another picks it up. A disadvantage to this spell is that if the opponent is quick enough, they can dodge the cards. And, if the opponent caches on, they can easily maneuver around her attacks, since every diamond card does the same thing (with the exception of the number of cards summoned). The cards can go about 1 inch deep into the skin. Eve only has cards numbered 3, 4, 5, 6and 7, though (out of 9 possible diamond cards). Cooldown: 2 Duration: Instant

| Aila felt the tears begin to wedll in her eyes. What kind of underhanded spell was this! It looked so harmless! She pulled her chain free and twirled it in her hand for a moment. The plus side was that Eve's spell did seem to effect her.
"You're not supposed to use my spells against me! Who the hell does that?!"
"Who creates a spell that starts off annoying and moves on to being pain!" Aila replied "Do you have another spell that gives you a paper cut under your fingernail!?"
"Diamond Strike"
The bad side was... she threw more cards! Aila hadn't been serious about the paper cut thing! She started to attempt jumping again only to remember that she had swapped her cloak out. She canceled her reaper's hand spell, pulled the neck of her cloak up to cover her faceand tossed the chain scythe at Eve. As she did its enchantment kicked in and it blazed a bright red successfully burning through three of the cards on its way towards Eve. Aila on the other hand clenched her teeth as she attempted to cut 3 more of the cards with the dagger edge. She hissed slightly when the rest cut her, but for the moment she was fine.
Meanwhile, her back still felt like it was burning in pain, and she hoped it would end soon.

| Eve hissed as the scarlet scythe that was slicing through the air towards her. "This girl just won't give up!" Grumbling under her breath, she hastily rose to her feet. Her leg protested every move she made, but there wasn't anything Eve could do about it. Damned girl! Isn't there some kind of code against using one's spells against them! Pshh! She pulled out a new card and held it in front of her, allowing it to glow and her magic circle to appear. "Earth Wall!" A 6 foot tall wall rose in front of Eve just as the scythe came crashing towards her. It hit the wall with a thunk, and Eve let out a breath of relief. She leaned her back against the dirt, despite her distaste for getting soil on her clothes or in her hair. Reaching up, she realized her hat was missing, and she noticed it a few feet away from her on the ground. A stab of pain hit her leg again, and she tapped her fingers against the wall to stop from doing anything else more damaging. I'll get the hat later, she told herself, wincing at the flaming pain in her leg. I'm going to slaughter this girl!- Spoiler:
Name: Earth Wall Rank: C Magic Cost: 20 Requirements: Have at least a 5ft radius of soil around the character Class: Defense Element: Earth Effect: When activated, the card glows and a wall of earth about 1ft deep rises in front of the character. The height depends on how much Magic Power Eve has left, but it is usually only 6ft tall. It forms a straight, vertical wall that spans 6 ft in length. If attacked, Eve can use this card to create a barrier. It takes 1 second to form, though, so if she isn't fast enough in casting, she could be in trouble. It is strong against physical, fire and lightning attacks but weak against wind, water, and ice attacks. It can take 2 spells of equal rank. (It will hold for 2 D rank spells and 1 E rank spell - 2 E rank = 1 D rank & 2 D rank = 1 C rank) Cooldown: 2 Duration: 3 turns (Unless eliminated with an opponent's spell.)

| Victory! Aila smiled and touched a new scratch on her face tenderly. Eve had been the first to take a break by hiding behind that wall. Her faced twisted into a pain expression when the wind blew her cloak into her back, quickly irritating the scratches from earlier. 'That spell was really painful' she thought as she brushed a few stray tears out of her eyes 'and if I give her a break she might pull something like that again'. Taking a deep breath helped calm her mind but did nothing for the pain. It seemed to have reached its apex at this point, it could only get better from here right?. With a short yank she pulled the scythe to her hand. Her clothing let out a familiar glow "Requip: Angel" She did her usual ritual of bouncing to get used to it again, noting that she was getting used to it faster each time. She then took one last deep breath before running at a nearby tree and kicking off of it flipping over Eve's wall, after a small spin she swung the chain causing the blade to come down vertically towards Eve. The blade let out its glow once more as its temperature increased rapidly. - Spoiler:
