| If there was one thing Eve Furey hated, it was phonies. And people who harmed others, but that was another story. You see, she could understand cheating people out of their money. Hell, she did that all the time wither her gambling habits. But this was different. How, she wasn't too sure, but it just was. So this was why Eve ended up listening to Anna Redam talk about her experience with the fake psychic. She was only half interested in the tale, and that partial interest may have been due to her past with Madame Clairvont. Sure, Eve was 8 years old when she was last with the lady, but she remembered little things. Or, at least, she thought she remembered little things. Fire, Eve thought, shivering. I remember flames engulfing her..."...so it's in a shady-looking shack down at the port. Good luck!" Eve nodded and left Anna standing there. She headed towards the port, and when she arrived, she searched for the shack. "Where is it," she muttered, stumbling across the terrain. Eventually, she found it. As she approached, it gave off an eery feel. Knocking, she called out to those inside. "I'm here for a reading." The door cracked open, and a pair of eyes examined her. "Come in," a voice said, and Eve waltzed through the doorway. Luckily, her guild tattoo wasn't completely visible due to her clothing. It resided near her left shoulder blade. It was pitch black in the room, and Eve struggled to see. Shit, she thought, squinting. At this rate, I'll be jumped... A light click sounded, and Eve suddenly found herself bathed in light. Before her stood 5 people, all of them wearing some kind of leather nonsense. "You guys all look ridiculous," Eve noted with a raised brow. "Seriously, ditch the matching armor and work on your lightness of foot." "We don't need any talking from you!" one of the men said harshly. "Now hand over all your money or we'll beat it out of you." Eve, getting annoyed, pulled out a card from her holster. "Like that'll happen," she said. "Diamond Strike!" The card in Eve's hand started to glow, and four hovering cards appeared. The five card's edges sharpened, and Eve threw the one in her hand towards the mass of thieves. The other offensive cards followed suit, and all but two of the thieves were hit. - Spoiler:
Name: Diamond Strike Rank: C Magic Cost: 20 Requirements: Have the card in hand Class: Offense Element: No element Effect: This card summon more cards (sharpened, offensive cards) to attack with. The number of cards depends on the number of the original card (IE: Card number 7 will summon 6 extra cards with sharp edges to attack with - the original card's edges are also sharpened). The cards move forward with the sweep of Eve's arm, and all but the original card disappears upon contact. The original card will remain in/on the opponent/whatever stopped it until Eve or another picks it up. A disadvantage to this spell is that if the opponent is quick enough, they can dodge the cards. And, if the opponent caches on, they can easily maneuver around her attacks, since every diamond card does the same thing (with the exception of the number of cards summoned). The cards can go about 1 inch deep into the skin. Eve only has cards numbered 3, 4, 5, 6and 7, though (out of 9 possible diamond cards). Cooldown: 2 Duration: Instant

| The two men split up, each taking opposing sides of the room. "You picked the wrong gang to mess with," one of them said. The other one looked frightened. "Serg, you know what fighting with a legal guild means..." The speaking man was silenced by a glare from his partner. "I know that, idiot." Eve replaced her previous card with another. Rushing towards one of the men, she yelled "Water Slicer!" and watched her spell take effect. A slice of water slammed into the man, and he hit the back wall and fell unconscious, dropping the daggers in his hands. Eve turned to the only member left and gave him an icy glare. "Where is the lady's necklace?" The man snickered. "Like I'd tell you." Taking a deep breath, Eve pulled out a third card and held it up. "Transfer!" A large, white faced card appeared, and Eve jumped into it, disappearing from the man's view. "What sorcery is this?!" "Hi-yah!" Eve appeared out of the card behind the man (It was floating in the air a few feet above the ground) and kicked him in the head as she fell. He hit the ground with a heave thud, and Eve was left to search for the necklace on her own. Where could that thing be hiding. . . They don't have it on them, do they? Her eyes widened. "I sooooo do not want to touch those filthy things." - Spoiler:
Name: Transfer Rank: E Magic Cost: 5 Requirements: Have card in hand Class: Supplementary/Defense Element: None Effect: When activated, the card glows and a different card that's 6ft tall, 3ft wide and paper thin appears beside the caster. One also appears in another area of the caster's choice, but it must be within 25ft of the original card. The giant card face is plain white, and Eve can use this to relocate herself to another position. By walking/jumping into the card near her, she can reappear out of the other one. (She could sneak up on an opponent from behind or escape an oncoming attack.) If an opponent noticed this, however, they can also use it to their advantage. As soon as Eve relocates, the two cards disappear. Cooldown: 2 Duration: Instant
Name: Water Slicer Rank: D Magic Cost: 10 Requirements: Hold the card in the direction you wish the water to go in. Class: Offense Element: Water Effect: This spell causes a slash of water about one inch thick to rush at the opponent. It moves horizontally and is about 3 feet long, and it uses such force that it can cut a small tree branch or make a tiny indention in a tree. It only goes about 20 feet before fizzling out (unless an objects stops it). It travels at 10 meters/second. Cooldown: 3 Duration: Instant History: Eve bought this spell from a merchant visiting Hargeon. She doesn't use it often since, living in Hargeon, water is everywhere. It's a newer spell, so she hasn't used it on a job yet. People get mad at her if she harms the nearby trees, so this card usually goes unused.

| About thirty minutes passed, and Eve had not had any luck with her search. She was left fruitless. Dirt now caked her nails, and she feared the men would wake up soon. Their clubs and daggers had been removed, and Eve was even tempted to pocket one of the pairs of daggers. The idea of cutting herself on the blade, though, kept her from acting upon such thoughts.
The necklace was supposed to be silver with a large ruby. Eve personally didn't see the allure in such accessories; her hat was all that was required. Plus it can block out loud noises and harsh sounds, she thought happily. | |

| Shuffling over to one of the men, she slapped him repeatedly until he awoke. "You," she hissed, gripping his shirt collar. "Tell me where that damned necklace is or I'll rip your throat out." A low sound escape her chest, something like a half growl, half snarl.
The man quivered and pointed to one of the corners of the room. "O-over there," he whispered, his face going pale. "In the side board. Just don't eat meeeee..."
Eve threw the man to the ground, successfully knocking him out when his head hit the boards. She hurried over to the desired location and ripped the board up (quite a feat for such an unathletic woman) and pulled the now-dirty necklace up. "Finally," she breathed, rubbing some of the dirt off the necklace with her thumb. "Now for my reward money..." She moved to the men and picked up her Diamond Strike card before exiting the shack and making her way back towards the main part of Hargeon.

| Eve found Anna easily; she was waiting for Eve just outside the port. "You found my necklace, she cried, snatching the item away from Eve. She clutched it as though she hadn't seen it in 5000 years. Eve scoffed and crossed her arms. "Of course I did, lady. Now give me my money."
Anna blinked at Eve's blunt words and reached into her pocket, pulling out the desired jewels. "Well... Here you go, I suppose..." Eve thanked her and took the money. "If anything happens, feel free to contact Lamia Scale again. We'll be sure to help." Nodding, she took her leave, ready to go take a nice, long, hot shower.
