Special Characteristics: Jay has two scars. The first of which is a double stitch scar below the left eye. While second is much large, and is located upon the torso, taking up most of this area of the body.

Personality: Jay's two dominant traits are his lack of intelligence and his utter fearlessness. Jay can easily be amazed by the simplest things, such as hermit crabs, and can be confused by concepts such as that by digging a hole right next to another hole she may be unintentionally filling the other hole. He also has absolutely no knowledge of any kind about medicine. When attempting to think up a plan to get off of Galuna Island, while she managed to make some logical sense of where to look, she is seen to strain herself and notes that she is going to feel sick from too much thinking. His simple mind has actually saved from numerous dangerous situations. If Jay finds something she doesn't understand, even if someone explained in detail, she calls it a "mystery thing". One of his few traits that often serves as good comic relief is Jay's slow reaction time, especially to freezing temperatures. A close second trait of the same regard is, Jay's rather extreme narcolepsy. She tends to randomly fall asleep while eating and conversing, leaving strangers around her wondering if she had died. Another trait he is shown to possess that fits within this regard is, he does a "dine and dash" routine wherever he goes.

Jay has a tendency to never back down from a fight, proclaiming that she would never run once facing an enemy. Because of this, some people believe that Jay has a death wish, but in truth he wants to prevent people he cares for from getting hurt. It has been stated on multiple occasions that Jay's instinct and behavior are similar to that of a wild animal's, like when she knows she has to fight before she even gets to the battle. Even how he fights shows this, when he relies on his instincts and countering attacks. This compliments the way she views the world. He views the world in a straightforward and simple manner. At times she can fall into the simplest of traps. He does have a habit of holding a grudge even in dire situations and even refusing to accept the help of a former enemy even when there is no other alternative. While she is goofy and reckless, she gets quite serious when fighting against a strong opponents, who she doesn't think can be beaten at her current level. In many cases, the opponents fail to understand whether Jay is serious or just playing during fights due to his bizarre actions. Jay, however, has maintained that she is always serious during fights.

Jay is also easily provoked by and becomes violent towards anyone who insults or harms people close to him. She is the kind of person who loves big, flashy things which is believed to be another reason for which she wants to become one of the Ten Wizard Saints. Jay does not seem to mind what happens to himself; he will take others throwing food and drink or spitting on him without fighting back and laugh at his own misfortune. However she will never forgive anyone for attacking her friends.

Jay's personality is like that of a child's, in the sense he tends to go to the extremes. She can either be extremely greedy, especially in cases of food and adventure; or extraordinarily selfless, going so far as virtually sacrificing herself to avenge a fallen comrade. This childish mentality of his allows him to get to the root of the problems, and allows him to figure out the most simplistic way of solving it. Something that goes hand-in-hand with her simple and naive nature.

Likes:
Food- Jay has an unnatural love of food, it is one of the few things that will cause his greedy nature to be shown. She is not one to share food under any circumstances. Jay's favorite for as a male has been shown to be meat. While Jay's favorite food as a female has been shown to be salad. This would suggest that the two sides of Jay may be slight opposites, despite sharing the same personality.

Adventure- Jay loves to go on adventures, it is one of the few things that cause her greedy nature to be shown. He is the type up person who likes to constantly be going on adventures and dislikes being the same place for to long. It is believed that Jay's strong desire for adventure, is due to the disappearance of her entire family, with the exception of her Grandfather at separate intervals during her youth. It is also shown to be rebellion against his Grandfather hopes of him joining the Rune Knights.

Parties- Jay is a very fun loving individual who is able to bring any kind of atmosphere into a party like state. This may be due to his carefree and easy going nature. Or it may be due to the abnormality of his presence. She has a tendency to want others to enjoy themselves and will go out of her way to create a party like atmosphere by means of idiotic gags. The reason for this is rebellion against the strict upbringing of his Grandfather.

Dislikes:
Hunger- Jay strongly dislikes being hungry, he has been shown to be rather impatient when waiting for food. She has also been shown to nag the chef about when her food will be done. This may also be due to Jay's capability to eat excessively large portions of food as if it were perfectly normal. As such, Jay is for the most part unable to deal with being hungry for a long period of time.

Authority- Jay has a rebellious dislike of authority, she will intentionally pick fights with those in positions of authority despite the obvious dangers of doing so. He has been shown to cause trouble where ever he goes. Though, it is unclear if she does this on purpose or if it is unintentionally done. The reason for this rebellious stance against authority, especially the Rune Knights and Magic Council, is that his Grandfather is a member of the Magic Council, and strongly wished for him to join the Rune Knights.

Dull Gatherings- Jay hates events which are dull in all aspects, this is due to her carefree and fun loving nature. She prefers more openly festive and wild gathers, which she sees as being real meaning of a party. This may be due to the fact that his Grandfather would make him attend more stuck-up and conservative events, such as galas. This may also be because, she often associates such events with dressing in a formal gown, which appears to be something she hates to do, as she finds them to be hard to move in.

Motivations:
Fighting- Jay loves to fight and he will fight others simply for the fun of it. However, she will not pick fights at random. One thing that he absolutely hates, is when others try to interfere with someone fight. When someone or something outside of the strife interferes, she will become enraged and begin to rampage. These rampages will often result in large-scale destruction being done to the surrounding are. The reason Jay loves to fight is that he wishes to become one of the Ten Wizard Saints, and prove to his Grandfather that if he had joined the Rune Knights he would have been weak for his entire life.

Strength- Jay wishes to be much stronger than she is at the moment. He knows that there are a lot of people who are much stronger than he is. Therefore, she tends to spend a lot of times training and seeking strong opponents to fight. Despite this desire, he refuses to use foul means in order to become stronger. The main reason she desires strength is in order to become one of the Ten Wizard Saints.

Freedom- Jay because of the restricted lifestyle he lead during his childhood desires freedom. As such, she has become very rebellious towards anything that may restrict her freedom. He tends to do whatever he wants and however he wants to do it. This has lead to her causing trouble a lot. The reason for this desire of freedom is because he doesn't want to become a Rune Knight like his Grandfather had wished he would. This is the reason why Jay spends most of her time traveling and going on wild adventures, as well as partying a lot.

Fears:
Becoming Rune Knight- Jay fears that he will one day be forced to become a Rune Knight. She has this fear, because she knows her Grandfather would go to any lengths to have her become a Rune Knight. This is why he ran away from home in order to attain the freedom to do as he wants.

Starving- Jay is frightened by the idea of starving. She has this fear because of her excessive love of food. He is often afraid that all the food in the world will one day disappear. This would seem like a stupid fear to most but, to Jay it is a very logical fear. But then again, she is an idiot of an unbelievable caliber.

Imprisonment- Jay is afraid of being imprisoned, this is because he loves his current freedom. She believes that freedom is something that does not come easily, this is because of her upbringings. The reason for this fear is the restricting childhood he lead.

General Appearance

Height: Jay as a male is 5'8½". While as a female Jay is 5'8".
Weight: Jay as a male is 130 pounds. While as a female Jay is 125 pounds.
Hair: Jay as a male has a short black hair that lays flat at all times, with his bangs reaching about two inches into his forehead. Jay, however, as a female has long black hair that reaches down to just above her buttocks.
Eyes: Jay has small, solid black pupils, with the whites of the eyes being rather expansive in size.
Skin Tone: Jay has well tanned caucasian skin that has a multitude of scars upon it.
Appearance: Jay's physical appearance varies depending on the gender that is being assumed. As a male Jay is five foot eight and half inches tall. He has short black hair, his bangs scooping towards the left side of his face. His hair always lays more in flat manner as opposed to its unruly manner when he was a child. He has small, solid black pupils that seem to be drastically undersized when compared to the whites of his eyes. As a female Jay is exactly five foot eight inches, making her shorter than when she is a male. She has long black hair, her hair being a mixture between straight and wavy, her bangs yet again being scooped more towards the left side of her face. Her hair is rather long, the bangs that frame her face reaching just beyond her shoulder, while the rest of her hair reaches down to just above her buttocks. Her solid black pupils do appear to be slightly larger in size than when she is a male, however, they are still undersized when compared to the whites of her eyes.
Jay is renowned for his or her trademark straw hat (from which the nicknames Mugiwara-kun and Mugiwara-chan are derived), it was a the last gift received from Jay's mother Nico Blackwell, before the latter disappeared from Jay's life. Jay wears an open, long-sleeved red cardigan with four golden buttons (which shows the X-shaped scar covering most of his/her chest he received from her/his Grandfather Akainu for defying him), with a blood red sash tied around his/her waist. When presenting his male form he is shown to possess a well-defined muscular structure which is proudly displayed. When presenting her female form she is still shown to possess a well-defined muscular structure, however, it does appears to be much less prominent. When presenting his male form, the lower half of his outfit is a pair of knee-length black trousers, which actually reach a few inches beyond his knees, due to the white fur that resulted from the shorts being frayed. However, when presenting her female form, the lower half of her outfit is pair of black booty shorts, which possess the same white fur as a result of the shorts having been frayed. Jay has a small scar below her/his left eye, which is the result of stabbing a knife under said eye to prove his/her determination to live life whoever she/he chooses. This was one of the final in-person acts of rebellion made against Akainu Blackwell.

Description: Rudder Magic, unlike most forms of magic is one that is actually always in a state of activation. It is unknown if Jay is able to remove it from this state. As the name implies, Jay's body can stretch like rubber and makes them almost entirely immune to blunt attacks, including hand-to-hand combat. And thanks to Jay's creativity at both in and out of combat, this magic has consistently proven itself to be among the most formidable and versatile Melee class Magics in existence. The user's rubber body also allows the user to survive falls from heights that would kill a normal person. The user's ability to stretch and twist like rubber to extreme lengths not only makes them immune to injuries that originate from such, but it also allows them moves that can give them a great advantage in battle or otherwise. Stretching also allows the user to drastically increase the range of what would otherwise be considered a powerful close-range attack, turning it into a devastating mid-range or long-range attack. A stretched limb can also be used to store potential energy like a stretched spring, increasing the power of an attack. Owing to rubber's natural insulating properties, the user is also immune to electrical attacks and is also able to hit lightning and electricity based mages without sustaining damage. This magic turns all parts of the consumer's body into rubber, including organs. As such, Jay has a bigger appetite than the average human, eating more than anyone else and always digesting it at an unusually fast rate.

Strengths: Rubber Magic has many strengths. The most note able strengths being; the users ability to transcend the boundaries separating close, mid, and long range melee attacks, as well as the users immunity to most blunt attack. Additionally, the user has an obvious immunity to electricity and lightning based attacks.
Weaknesses: Despite all the great advantages the user gets by using this magic, they can however still be hurt by cutting or stabbing attacks, as well as non-physical attacks such as fire or ice. This shows that Jay is at great disadvantage against practitioners of fire and ice based forms of magic. One major risk of Rubber Magic is that the user is vulnerable to attacks in the moments when their limbs are stretched to their limit. Additionally, while some may not view it as a weakness, the users inability to deactivate Rubber Magic comes with the unexpected disadvantage of being unable to swim. The specific reason behind this weakness in unknown, but it has been shown that users of this magic while easily drown. Furthermore, their magic is nullified by contact with water. This implies that, in addition to being disadvantaged against fire and ice magic, they are also disadvantaged against water based magic. Additionally, the inability to deactivate their magic, means the user must always eat exceptionally large portions of food, as their stamina is burnt up quicker than that of a normal person.

Extra

History: The Blackwell Family is a family with a very long and rich history, their root can be traced back to age in which Dragons ruled the world. It is unknown how the Blackwell's have managed to survive for such a long period of time. Despite having such a rich and culturally diverse past, the Blackwell families history also has an incident of great shame. This incident happened two hundred years after the age in which Dragons ruled the world. This incident involved a man known as Higuma Blackwell. Higuma was very lecherous man, this trait would eventually prove to be his greatest weakness. Higuma while traveling with his family met a woman by the name of Alvida Portgas. Higuma due to his lecherous nature grew to desire this woman and despite his already being married, would begin an affair with Alvida. Little did Higuma know that Alvida was a very powerful mage, one who specialized in a very unique form of Curse Magic, known as Eternal Hex. When Alvida learned that Higuma was a married man she became enraged, she had the power to easily kill the man. However, she choose to instead put of her eternal curses upon him, this curse would forever be passed down through his bloodline. The curse she placed upon the Blackwell blood, was a curse called Zeroplexus. Zeroplexus, is a curse that turns the affected by it into a gender-less being, they are neither strictly male nor female. Instead, they will forever possess both genders. Those affected by Zeroplexus are usually unable to change the gender shifts, quite often they will commit suicide, rather than live within an unstable body. However, if one truly focuses themselves towards learning to coexist with the curse upon their body, they are apparently able to fully control the shifts. If the affected party was born a male, but becomes pregnant while in their female form they will forever be stuck as a female, and vice verse, for one naturally born as a female who impregnates a woman while in their male form. Hagumi after impregnating his wife would end up committing suicide, it is unknown if she was aware of the cursed twins developing within her womb. The Blackwell bloodline has carried this curse into the current generation......

....... Jay Blackwell was born in Era, the second child born to Nico and Shanks Blackwell. Jay is the Grandchild of former Magic Council Member Akainu Blackwell. Jay lead a somewhat normal childhood, with the exception of sometimes living as boy and at other times living as a girl. Unlike most Blackwell's Jay didn't seem bothered by this abnormal aspect of life. Furthermore, Jay from early childhood was noted to be the first Blackwell born to be able to naturally balance out the shifts between gender. Jay's parents believed this meant that Jay may be the one to find a solution to breaking the curse. When Jay was six years old his father would leave their luxurious mansion in Era to travel the world. Unknown to Nico or Akainu, Shanks Blackwell for many years now, even before the birth of his children had been planning to start a Revolutionary Army to overthrow the current government. Two years later shortly after Jay had turned eight years old her mother Nico Blackwell would leave in search of her husband Shanks Blackwell. Not long after this, Akainu Blackwell would take Jay and Robin Blackwell into his care. Akainu wishing for his grandchildren to become Rune Knights would begin training them. Akainu's training methods being very unorthodox (thrown into a seemingly bottomless ravine in the morning with six hours to climb back up, hand-to-hand combat until night fall, and then being thrown into the forest at night.) This had become their daily lives for about three years straight. During the fourth year Robin Blackwell would finally run away in search of freedom.

Jay now being twelve years old would begin to rebel against Akainu, of course, this only worsened the pre-teens training. However, Jay would not be stopped in his/her pursuit of freedom. Jay at the age of fourteen would begin learning Rubber Magic in preparation for her/his eventual departure from Akainu's care. Over the next three years Jay would continue to practice Rubber Magic, however, Jay was unaware of the fact the his/her body had permanently taken on the properties of rubber. When Akainu Blackwell discovered that Jay had learned Rubber Magic, the latter would become enraged. Akainu using his Magma Fist Magic would rip a massive wound into Jay's chest. Oddly enough, this wound should have killed Jay, but due to the immediate care he received her/his life was spared. However a large X-shaped scar now covers most of Jay's chest. Jay would spend six months recovering from this wound. Jay after making a full recovery would return to the Blackwell Estate, this would be the end of the involvement between Jay Blackwell and Akainu Blackwell.

Jay stood there a fierce look of determination held within her eyes, a knife in hand, her grandfather Akainu standing right before her. "Have you finally accepted the destiny I have given you, shitty brat?" The muscular balding breaded man would ask as he stared blankly down upon his grandchild. "Nope. I'm leaving Grandfather. But you won't let me leave unless I prove my resolve to you, will you?" The seventeen year old female proclaimed coldly. The tone she had used brimming with hatred for the man before her. Jay before anymore words would be spoken, flung the knife up into the air. She would then fling her right arm backwards about ten feet in distance, following this she would launch her arm upwards. She would grasp the knife in the reverse of how she had originally be holding it, as her arm can sailing back towards her body, she would direct to just below her left eye. "Are you insane Jay? Think about what you're doing!" The man before her yelled angrily, watching in horror as the knife sank into her face an inch below her left eye. The female grinned at the look of horror upon the males face. She would give a slight yelp as she ripped the knife from her flesh, she would turn her back to the man who had for the most part raised her. "Do you get it now? I want nothing more to do with you. I think, I finally understand why all of them abandoned me! They couldn't take living by your desires. We aren't pawns for you to control, we're people, we need to be free to live however we want!" She screamed at the man as she turned back around to face him. With these words being spoken she would throw the knife at his feet. After doing this, she would turn her back and walk away for good this time.

A year and a half have passed since that day, Jay now having a scar below his left eye traveling throughout Fiore. The young mages goal in life, to become one of the Ten Wizard Saints; but in order to do this the mage would need to become much stronger. This is where the tale of Jay Blackwell truly begins.......
