Hotel Lobby (open)

Lance and Moki were walking the streets of Era, bored. They needed something to do. Lance was itching to something fun. There was a ton of people in Era and he wanted to meet the strong mages of his guild or another he just wanted to see the best of the best. He figured the best place was the market but none really appeared so he went with Moki's plan of the hotel.

"Lance I told you so. You can be so dumb sometimes."

Moki could get on lances nerves every now and then. He wanted to look at cloths but Moki runnined that plan quick, he only got to go to one store. The hotel wasn't too far from the market but Lance was going slow on porurpose. Moki was riding on his back again so he was at Lance's will. The street was preet crowed so many people, so many fat people. It made Lance sick, ugh how come the uglies of Fiore came out to the tournament. They should have somewhat of a social class restriction. Lance and Moki were able to get through the crowd pretty easy since Lance was able to easily slide past everybody.

As the hotel appeared in the horizon the traffic in the narrow streets became near impossible to get through at all. Lance was starting to loose his pateniece. It didn't help that the couple in front of him appeared to be rather large, low class, poor hygiene, and from the country from the smell of them. He was about to loose his temper. Moki get to the skys now or I might hit these people". He made sure to keep his voice down not waiting to offend these people but not caring if they did over here. Moki's wings popped out and they were zooming over the crowd straight to the hotel. Wasn't long for people to notice him flying over them but there was alot of flying magic it wasn't something so new to some people. Though some people gawked at him making his ego momentarily jump. They landed in front of the hotels steps. Moki climbed down from his shoulders and they both walked in. Lance headed straight for the counter.

"Hey there miss, i love your frickles they match your hair style so well Is there any way I can get a room.". Lance tried to suck up to the front desk lady. He knew only participants could stay at the hotel. if he couldn't get a room he would just have to hang outside.

"Well sorry sir you can't get a room but I can let you hang out in the lobby."

Well lance took that bit of depressing but yet decent outcome. He got to stay inside and meet the tourney mages. He just would still have to find a place to stay the night he was kinda sick of sleeping outdoors. He sat down on a rather large golden plush chair. It was rather comfy. Lance read one of the sorcerers magazine on the table.

A tangled ball of blankets and sheets wiggled ever so slightly on the bed of a certain tournament mage. The morning sun had disturbed her sleep a bit earlier than usual it seemed and thus she was trying to free herself from her wild sleeping habits. After a few minutes of wiggling about she managed to free her arm and used it to quickly untangle herself. That was when the full brunt of the noise outside hit her. With a curious look spreading across her still sleepy looking face, she stumbled over to her window and peered down at the ocean of people below.

Her sleep-addled mind took a moment to process just how many people were out there, some were holding signs marked with different guilds some seemed to simply have the names of various participants on them and others were wearing full wardrobes inspired by their favorite tournament participant. Aila noted, with a small feeling of pride, that she had quite a few supporters in the crowd. Sure they were easily buried by the Nix and Ardere supporters, but it was still rather touching. With a smile she turned on her heels and went through her morning routine.

She approached the lobby dressed in her Angel's Shroud and prepared to leave to explore the city, however, as soon as she reached the door she knew that would be impossible. The entrance was blocked by a wall of people, and as she approached the door the people got rowdy and she could hear cheering. If she went out there she'd be torn to shreds. It was even to far for her to attempt to glide over.

Just as she was pondering whether to return to her room or not, she witnessed a rather odd sight. Rather it seemed to only be odd to her, since nobody else seemed to pay it any mind. A man dressed in white was being carried by a cat, while flying over a crowd of people... The man looked rather luxurious, was this how rich people traveled? The man entered and immediately tried to get a room at the hotel despite it being all over the news that the hotel was booked.

Aila watched as the receptionist began blushing and offered to allow him to stay in the lobby. Most people weren't even allowed in the courtyard! Just who was this guy? Better yet, what kind of cat was that? Its wings had disappeared and now it was walking on two legs like a human, and still nobody seemed to mind.

Aila casually walked over and sat on one of the seats opposite of the mysterious person. She grabbed a copy of some magazine, and pretended to read it while continuing to observe the fluffy creature. Despite being one of the weirder things she had seen since leaving home, it was still pretty adorable.

It didn't take long for another person to enter the lobby, though this time they came from the actual hotel and were not just some stranger sitting in the lobby like Lance was. Part of him felt like he was a creep and semi immature but the other part of him was thrilled and excited, so it obviously countered whatever the other side was saying. Moki seemed to be enjoying himself. There was a rather large fish take out in the lobby, it was filled with all sorts of fish some exotic, some looked like plain ol' gold fish. The new comer sat not too far from Lance, she grabbed a magazine and started to flip through it.

The girl seemed cute, she was rather short but still had some what of a dominating presence. She was probably another mage, but if she was participating in the tournament Lance couldn't tell. She kept glancing from her magazine to Lance or to Moki, it was mainly Moki that she looked at. It didn't take long for Lance to start to notice her more and more. She looked harmless enough wearing a white cap and sinking into the chair similar to himself. Her hair caught his eyes though. It was a light purple color, similar to his but her was all of hair not just the tips like Lance's. After a few more minuets of watching her sneak looks at him and Moki Lance decided that maybe he should introduce himself to her and break the ice. Both parties were obviously checking the other out. He knew he wasn't hiding his glances too well.

He folded the magazine up and stood up in his chair. He sank down so far in it that it gave him a slight wedgie. After readjusting himself he walked over to the young lady. Up close he noticed a few more things about her, she also had purple eyes similar to his. If people didn't know any better they could have easily thought the two were related, though at a closer inspection could find out other wise. Lance towered over the girl almost, plus their facial structure was just too different. When he got to the girls chair he bent down semi squatting so he was at eye level to the girl.

"Hi there. Are you a participant in the tournament?" Lance kept his voice in the higher pitched upbeat tone that it normally was. He had his usual smile on. He tried to sound has happy and upbeat as possible. He hoped that the girl was a mage in the tournament, he wanted to meet some strong people.

Aila's spying skills left a lot to be desired it seemed... Not only had the man noticed her, but he was coming over! In hindsight wearing a complete white outfit probably wasn't the best idea. She stuffed her face behind the magazine and pretended to be enraptured in this month's "mustache of the month" award ceremony coverage. After a few seconds Aila attempted to peer over the top of the magazine and there he was, crouched down at eye level in front of her. She jumped slightly in her seat.

"Hi there. Are you a participant in the tournament?"

Aila peered at him for a moment trying to piece this together. Was he one of those reporter people? That would explain why he was allowed to stay in the lobby. "Yeah, I guess you could say that..." Taking in the man's appearance, smile and all he reminded her of her older brother. If her brother was a tall rich looking person that flies around with a cat that is. "I'm Aila" she continued still rather cautiously "I actually just won my first match the other day"

She paused for a moment with her eyes darting towards the cat once more. Asking outright 'why do you have a flying cat' seemed kind of rude. So she'd have to start with pleasantries "A-are you new in town?" The people in this area seemed enraptured with this tournament, it seemed like they would have known she was a part of it. Ah, or did she blend in better than she thought. A smile crossed her face at the thought of her possible spying and camouflaging ability.

Nix sat on the railing of her hotel room balcony, her legs crossed as she looked down at the crowd below. One of her hands was rested on her knee, while the other was on the railing, her fingers drumming patiently along it. A thin layer of ice gathered and broke away with each tap of her finger on the railing. She it had been a few days since her first match, and she was currently idling about until the announcement of the next round of fights. Quite frankly, she was growing bored with sitting about or aimlessly roaming the city. She had rarely mingled with the spectators of the tournament, but now she saw that they had made their way to the hotel where they were staying. She raised an eyebrow at the various costumed fans, a majority of the women being dressed like herself and most of the men being dressed in Ardere's likeness. A small scoff escaped her lips as she pushed forward, dropping down from the balcony. There was a surprised shriek as someone noticed Nix, apparently mistaking her for someone who was attempting suicide. However, as more people took notice, they saw that she was in fact one of the very mages many of them had cheered for a few days prior. Their frantic yells soon changed into loud cheers. Just before she was about to hit the ground, Nix invoked her magic, creating a swirling vortex of icy mist and ice shards around her. She then pointed her hands towards the ground, forcing the vortex to expand down towards the ground. As the crowd shied away from the point of impact, a large structure of ice deep violet ice barbs formed up into the shape of two outstretched hands with a throne of ice at the center. Then, shifting her body, she landed in the throne and sat cross-legged, adopting her usual expression of boredom: one arm across her abdomen just beneath her breasts while the other hand rested against her cheek.

"Well then....it would seem....your Ice Queen has arrived." She said in an uninterested tone. The crowd went absolutely wild after Nix' theatrical entrance, many of them rushing the ice structure and attempting to get an autograph or even a picture with her. "Now, now, my dears, you'll all get your chance." She chuckled, actually deciding to indulge her fans. After a few minutes of signing autographs and taking pictures, Nix made her way into the hotel lobby. She even left the throne in place for other fans who had missed her to take pictures in it. As she stepped into the lobby, she noticed two people in particular. One of them she recognized right away as Aila, the young Requip mage participating in the tournament. The other was a stranger to her, though she recognized the small cat nearby as an Exceed, which led her to assume that the young man was a Dragon Slayer. She made her way over to Aila and the other young man. "Well now, this is interesting...I assume since you are still here, my dear, that you've won your first match? If that is indeed true, then it seems congratulations are in order." She greeted before turning her attention to the young man with her. "And who might you be, my dear? I assume by your little companion there by the fish tank that you are a Dragon Slayer?" She asks curiously, once again taking on her usual gesture of disinterest.

Lance was about to answer the girl that he was crouched by. She seemed a bit startled but when talking about how she won her match Lance could see the little shine in her eyes. She had some confidence in her skill, and why shouldn't she? She was already a round 1 winner of the torunmant. There was sure to be strong enemies ahead of her but Lance felt like there was more to this small girl then what the eye saw.

Before either of the two could continue with their conversation Lance heard the crowd outside going crazy. They were screaming and chanting or going crazy all seemed possible, and none concerned Lance, that is until he heard the doors to the hotel opening up. With the doors open the crowd's noise was able to echo throughout lobby. Then Lance noticed it. There was a smell that entered the lobby, being a Dragon Slayer his sense of smell was far superior than normal humans. It seemed as if death came to the hotel, and was walking right to the two young mages. His back was facing the door so Lance couldn't see the person that walked in. The air in the hotel seemed get colder and colder as the footsteps got closer to the two.

As a young female approched the two Lance's hair stood up on its end. "This might get alot more fun than I anticipated." The young female was stunning. She took the breath out of Lance, the girl beside him was cute but this was a woman. She had eyes that were a dark red color similar to blood while having a orange hint around the edges. Her arm had tattoos running down them but he could see little scars underneath the ink. There was no doubt in Lance's mind this was the Nix, the ice god slayer of Sabertooth that Ardere warned him about. It didn't take long for her to question Lance. He was semi shocked that she realized he was a dragon slayer before he told her, but she seemed to know more about them than Lance expected. "Well, I think this might get a bit more interesting. Nix is not supposed to be one to mess with, but lets just see how this girl really is." Lance stood up and turned to the girl that he assumed was Nix.

"Well, well, well if it isn't the Ice Godslayer herself, Ms. Nix I presume? It didn't take you long at all to uncover my little secret did it. My name is Lance Lightfang and if you can't tell by the name I'm a light elemental based dragon slayer" Lance held out his hand. He had his finger nails painted a dark purple color to match his tattoo today. Ardere had warned him about this girl, saying how she killed people in Magnolia for no reason. Lance had no reason to not believe Ardere but he wanted to make his own decision on her.

Ah well that settled it, Aila was definitely the blending in type. All it took was the arrival of a rather... Intimidating woman, and her question was completely forgotten. She bit her lip as she peered up at the woman and jumped once more in surprise. This was Nix! The ice goddess, the one she may be fighting soon, the one that may be turning her into a reapercicle soon. Despite all of that Aila couldn't help but be taken aback by her appearance, she was rather beautiful at first glance but the more you looked at her the more danger you sensed and that just made her all the more alluring.

Her question snapped her from her trance and she answered a bit more abruptly than she would have liked to, "Yeah, I managed to beat some time mage from Fairy Tail, Ren Shimizu" she thought back on the match as she spoke "it was a pretty close match, her magic was unpredictable" She paused and thought back on her broken equipment "Not to mention the magic didn't agree too well with my equipment"

The man in white seemed to recognize Nix as well. There was a certain air of unease around the two and he seemed to be trying to get an idea about the girl. It was at that time that Aila realized that Nix hadn't been surprised about the abnormal cat either. Was it really so normal? She had never seen such an adorable creature back in Hargeon. Perhaps she needed to get out more...

Nix bit down on the nail of her index finger as she gave Lance a cursory glance-over, perhaps gazing a bit too long. She gave a light chuckle then nodded, folding her arms again.

"It seems my reputation has preceded me...or perhaps you were present during my match? In any case, I am indeed Nix. It would seem my initial presumption of you was correct, but your element is unexpected. So you are the Light Dragon Slayer....how interesting. I would be interested in seeing just what your magic is capable of....though perhaps at another time." She smirked then turned her attention on Aila, She seemed intimidated to be in her presence. Laughing slightly, she leaned down to her, supporting her weight by placing her hands on her knees. "Well then, congratulations are indeed in order. Though it seems....your opponent was from Fairy Tail...so your victory may not have been much of an accomplishment. Perhaps if you were to challenge and defeat me, that would be something to brag about. Although..." She paused as she gave a sinister grin, her eyes giving off a violet glow. "I'll wish you the best of luck with that task, sweetheart." She added then stood upright, the glow fading from her eyes as she folded her arms again. "So then, what do you two have planned for today? Anything of interest?" She questioned curiously.

Lance took in everything that Nix did watching her careful picking out her characteristics and habits. He noticed how she leaned on her foot, the way she carried herself, he saw it all. It was something that was a bit of a habit for him to do this. Though he was no longer facing the girl in the chair he could see out of the corner of his eye. She seemed to not be too phased by Nix's appearance. She seemed to be a type of holder magic user and defeated one of his fellow guildmates.

"Well, mine and Moki's plan for today was to meet some powerful mages that are in the tourney, really."

Lance couldn't help but laugh. His plans must seem sad and pathetic to them, but he just wanted to meet some strong people. Oh well he didn't care too much about their opinion. He still wanted to know more about Nix, and this other girl whom he hadn't introduced himself to yet. "Shit I forgot to tell this other girl my name, she probably thinks I'm some crazy guy just asking people who they are." Lance turned around, now having his back to girl in the chair.

"Sorry, that was rude of me. I don't believe I introduced myself to you, Lance Lightfang, nice to meet you."

Aila smiled at the congratulations from the woman. Although they were flavored a bit more menacing than usual, it was still a nice gesture. Not to mention the woman hadn't exactly lied, she had simply passed the first round the rounds to come would be progressively harder and she needed to steel herself and prepare.

It seemed as though Nix wasn't as ruthlessly cold as the media had tried to portray. She even wished Aila luck, which she took as sincere despite the devious tone.

With a simple smile she addressed Nix's comment "I look forward to it, and I'll try not to disappoint you"

"So then, what do you two have planned for today? Anything of interest?"

Aila placed a hand to her lip as though in deep thought, she hadn't really planned anything for today. Not to mention, with a crowd the size of the one outside she didn't know if she'd be able to travel freely anyways. She peered up at Nix and then back towards the window. It seems like Nix had more to worry about than she did, she already had cosplayers!

She watched as a rather large cosplayer attempted to sashay up to the hotel door only to be stopped by security. She attempted to break through them only to be removed by force.

Realizing that she had gotten distracted again, Aila snapped her gaze back to the two in front of her and replied with a simple "Not really". However she felt a little lame ending it with that so she decided to elaborate "it seems like walking around might be a little troublesome right now since the fans are really happy to see us today" She pointed a finger towards the window.

The crowd, still hyped up due to Nix's display, had become rather unruly. The sight of one of their fellow fans being stopped by security had caused a bit of unrest, leading to more of the fans attempting to burst into the hotel. Security was doing their best but they were a little understaffed for such a large gathering. At this rate they could end up bursting into the hotel.

Nix glanced back towards the hotel entrance, narrowing her eyes and letting out a scoff of annoyance. Turning back towards Aila and Lance, she gestured for them to wait a moment as she turned and headed towards the doors. As she walked towards the doors, the temperature in the lobby began to drop and violet frost gathered in various places around the room. She paused just in front of the doors and turned back towards the two of them halfway.

"You wish you go out and explore the town, correct my dear?" She questioned Aila before looking at Lance. "And you wish to meet powerful mages...I believe I can assist you both. Take witness, this will be the only other time my magic will be invoked outside of the arena." She said then pushed open the doors, soon after activating her Frozen Tempest spell. As the fans began to rush in, Nix pointed her hands towards the approaching crowd. The vortex of ice pulsed then rushed outward. Several barbs of ice split the ground in a forward cone from Nix' position. The stampeding fans quickly jumped aside to avoid the barbs. As they sat disoriented and confused from the sudden attack, Nix turned towards Aila and Lance once again. "If you still want to leave, now would be the perfect opportunity." She informed then continued on through the crowd, as if nothing had happened.

Lance and the other girl didn't even have the time to respond to Nix's question she was walking to the door. She held out her hand as the crowd came to the door. She sent out a storm of ice keeping them at bay and opening up a path. Wow, what a women, pretty bold to be using a spell like that so close to civilians. He let out a bit of a chuckle, today was turning out alot more different than he imagined.

"Moki come on we are going out."

Moki's face unglued itself from the tank and headed over to Lance. He climbed up Lance's back and the two headed out following Nix. Lance wanted to see what Nix had planned, being in the tourney she can't get into fights really or she could be kicked out so everything should be ok. He couldn't wait to see how this would all turn out. He had nothing better to do today so why not. As they walked through the crowed there were tons of people just looking at them in aw. There were people dressed like Nix that it almost made it hard to tell which one was real.

"Nix where do you plan on going?"

Aila could do nothing but stare at the scene. Were all guild people this crazy after all? If even one of those citizens had been injured it could've been very bad for Nix's standing in the tournament, and yet she didn't give it a second thought. Without so much as a warning she unleasehed a spell on them. If they hadn't managed to get out of the way-

Aila shivered slightly. No that wasn't it. Nix didn't worry because she knew they would get away. They hadn't avoided her magic she had allowed them to get out of the way. This was a guild mage. They weren't like the people Aila knew, they had control from years and years of experience with using their magic. The young requip mage smiled, these were the kind of people she would face if she continued her travels. Heck, she may even face this woman in the next round of this very tournament.

Realizing that she was being left behind the girl quickly kicked off of the ground, landing on her left hand next to an Ardere impersonator. With a small push she landed upright beside Lance and attempted to match his pace despite their difference in size. Her face was a little more animated than before as she spun around to take one last look at the crowd, walking backwards in order to keep up. Surprisingly, most of them had quickly recovered from the shock and were now elatedly taking souvenir photos next to the violet ice barbs.

"So!" Aila started while simultaneously spinning back and walking forward "That's Ice Godslayer magic? I mean I saw it a bit during your match but you mostly used hand to hand" Realizing she was almost rambling Aila attempted to cut to the chase "Have you actually killed a god? Ah! or would you only be able to slay an ice god?"

Aila's focus drifted back to the cat. Now that she thought about it Nix had called this man a "Dragon Slayer". "and Lance how many dragons have you killed" Her eyes practically sparkled as she finished asking. She was also rather curious as to how Nix had known he was a dragon slayer just by his ownership of a talking cat. Were they special dragon killing pets? All of these types of magic and people were truly fascinating.

Nix looked at Aila curiously then chuckled.

"You are quite the curious one, aren't you dear? Well...in any case, I will answer your question. No, I did not kill a God to receive my magic, though yes, I am capable of killing any God. However...I am more suited to slay an ice God than any other. To return to your previous question, I received my magic through implantation of the God's DNA into my body. My mentor was most likely responsible for the death of the ice God that my magic is from. If it would sate your curiosity, I suppose I could tell you that I killed my mentor." Nix informed then glanced over her shoulder at the fans as they took pictures with the ice she had created during their exit of the hotel. "Hmm...it looks like no one was injured....disappointing." She gave a low sigh then looked at Lance. "Little Aila poses an interesting question, how many dragons' deaths are you responsible for?" She asked curiously.

Lance laughed at the question. He was used to getting it whenever he said he was a Dragon Slayer but he found it kinda of funny still. "Well I was raised by a dragon who was my adopted mother. She taught me dragon magic. That magic is just called dragon slayer magic. So I have not slayed a dragon, nor could I see myself waiting to. Most dragons are highly intelligent creatures that mean people no harm if they are left unprovoked." As they made their way through the crowd Lance was getting quiet bored. He wanted to know what Nix had planned for them to do today. Most thing cost jewels and he didn't feel like spending money if he didnt have too.

"So Nix you never did say where we are going or doing."

"Shut up Lance we are on an adventure." How could Moki be so blunt and mean to Lance, ever since coming to Era all Lance did was try to give Moki a good time. He let him get a new toy, eat new food, and go walk around town but here he was backing up a total stranger! He could barley keep his composer. Moki would pay in some way for this, may not be today may not be tomorrow but one day.

Lance couldn't tell anything from Nix, she seemed to find pleasure in seeing people bask in her presence, but so did Lance so nothing new there to him. But she also seemed to not care too much for the people who got in her way too much. She had an icy stare and an almost intimidating presence about her. So far he liked her, he found her fun to be around, she seemed exciting. He knew that she held a dark side she had killed several helpless people not too long ago and had yet answer her crimes for it, but the tournament was not the time nor was it necessarily his place. He wanted more time with her to learn more about her he wanted to make his own mind on her to see if she was truly as sadistic as he had heard. The other girl seemed nice though she was kinda of quiet and tried to keep up with Lance. It was funny to see her having to walk at a fast speed to keep up with his longer strides. She seemed like a nice kinda of person that would help anybody. Maybe Lance could talk to her about joining Fairy Tail, though he hardly even knew a thing about this girl.

L-little!? I mean she knew that she wasn't the tallest person around, but she wasn't exactly a little kid either... Thinking back a lot of people believed she was younger than she was due to her height. It didn't help that Lance looked so similar to her and was so much taller.

"I-I'm not that little you know- no wait I'm not little at all!" she stumbled over her words a bit before simply biting her tongue and changing the subject.

She cleared her throat and addressed the answers to her questions. "What's your mentor like? He sounds amazing to have been able to kill a god." Aila didn't even want to think about Nix's claim of being able to kill a god herself, that would only frighten her and hinder her in the coming battles.

Her next surprise came in the answers given to her by Lance. His mother was a dragon! For a moment she wondered if the man could transform or anything but she didn't dare voice the question. She was already being treated like a child after all.

"Ehhh, you were actually raised by a dragon? What was it like? Were you scared?" Aila paused to regain her composure "Umm, did she come to the city with you? Ah! or did she fly you here?"

The small cat that was accompanying Lance seemed to be rather rude towards his master. Despite them being adorable Aila had never been a fan of cats, they always seemed kinda snooty and indifferent.

Of course there was another problem, the magic these two used had such amazing origins! Aila just happened to pull a weapon from the air as a child. There was no grand training from a dragon or placement of godly dna. Just a scared little girl accidentally calling a scythe. From there it was simply learning to form a pocket dimension through studying and lots of training.

Nix looked at Aila curiously then shook her head, looking forward once again as they walked.

"No, no, my dear, you seem to have misunderstood me. My mentor is no longer among the living, I myself was responsible for that. In any case, to answer your question, my mentor was a disciple to a certain infamous mage. I'm sure everyone has heard of him....his name was Zeref." She replied, her voice taking on a slightly ominous tone. Nix raised her head and looked at the sky as they walked, her face completely void of any emotion. "When I initially met his acquaintance, I was a regular human, no magic prowess whatsoever. He offered to teach me Ice magic in exchange for being his servant. The thought of learning magic convinced me to give my obedience to him. It was months afterwards that he revealed his true identity as one of Zeref's disciples and offered to give me God Slayer magic. Of course I agreed, and therefore I was granted this power. He afterwards asked that I take his life because the current state of the world didn't suit his tastes. Admittedly there was a moment's hesitation, but in the end I complied and ended his life with the very magic he had recently gifted me with." Nix explained.

Lance couldn't help his face from changing when the mention of Zeref came up. Nix had a link to Zeref through her master. Who was this man and how did he study under the most evil mage known in history. Her magic came from the dark parts of the magical world while his was the complete opposite being derived to initially slay dragons but later used to protect and heal. This helped shine a light on why she was said to be pretty evil and may have done what she did in Magnolia. So far Nix seemed ok, a bit vain and reckless but she didn't seem evil, but he had to know why she did what she did. He could not associate himself with somebody who has such little regard with others lives.

"So Nix, Ive heard that you can be a bit, oh whats the word destructive. I heard you went to Magnolia town recently and you left a bit of a mess with you."

Depending on her response to his question depended on how he would act. He hoped that Aila would be ok if the two decided that they needed to settle this with a fight. He didn't know who she would side with or if she would pick a side at all. Neither one were allowed to really fight outside the arena and Lance could get himself and Fairy Tail in major trouble if he started a fight. He couldn't allow his emotions to get the best of him no matter how she answered.

"Ahh, so you were born with no magic Nix" Aila was genuinely surprised, "I always heard that Zeref hated non-mages though". Nix's mastery over her own magic was awe inspiring. To even imagine her as someone without any magic at all was next to impossible.

However the requip mage was a little taken aback by Nix's next confession. To take the life of someone who gave her so much... Aila couldn't even imagine the inner turmoil that accompanied that moment. Apparently this mentor of hers was incredibly important to her, as this was the most sullen expression she had had ever seen the woman wear. "I-I'm sorry... Asking about your past was a little thoughtless of me" she bowed slightly in apology.

Lance wasn't quite so sullen...

'Eh?' the young requip mage looked over her two companions. Had she said something she shouldn't have? After Nix's correction the mood had gotten rather tense, and now Lance was speaking as though Nix had led a massacre. An awkward silence followed Lance's question.

Aila's genius mind kicked into over drive and lucky she had just noticed the perfect mood fixer. "Umm how about some ice cream!" She exclaimed with a smile, as she attempted to direct their attention towards a small ice cream stand. Perfect, everybody loves ice cream right?

Nix stopped mid-step and turned to face Lance, eyeing him curiously. She seemed to have disregarded Aila's response for the time being, focusing completely on Lance. She then folded her arms and chuckled lightly, closing her eyes.

"Oh I see....you're a friend of poison boy. Did he tell you to avoid me at all costs? Are you here to bring me to justice, boy? Well, since you seem to be so curious, I will answer your question. I assume it is in regards to poison boy and I's encounter at Kardia Cathedral. What you heard was indeed correct. Everyone in that church..." She paused as she opened her eyes and looked at him, the temperature around them dropping considerably and a sinister air surrounded them. Nix' face remained calm, but deep down he could probably sense a dark and insatiable evil. "I killed them all. Stricken down in their final prayers as I chilled their bodies down to the bone. Priests....choirboys and girls....the elderly....they all fell before me. Now that your information has been confirmed, what will you do, boy? Will you attempt to fight me and make me pay? I can tell you now....it won't end well for you." She warned in a chillingly calm voice. Lance had both heard and seen what Nix was capable of, and he must have realized that attempting to attack Nix would be akin to suicide. If he made the wrong move towards her, Nix was prepared to strike him down without a second thought.

"Why don't you go get ice cream with Aila Moki."

"Yayyyy!!! Lets get 4 scoops! I want chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, and ummm do you think they have fish flavor? If not I'll get some more strawberry."

Lance knew he struck a never right when Nix froze in her steps. Her gaze at him looked alike she wanted to turn him into a popsicle right there on the spot. When she closed her eyes and started talking how she murdered all those people without any regards to their lives is when he knew the true Nix. He didn't expect anything else maybe a lie from her but he knew the truth already Ardere was right. She seemed to be radiating a icy aura not magically but in her body language and ton of voice Lance knew right away that this could get ugly quick. He couldn't let this get too carried away there were too many bystanders that could get injured, plus he wasn't so sure how the fight would turn out. He needed to get Nix's murderous side to go back in and calm her down a bi. They had both stopped while Aila went to go get ice cream. He didn't want Moki wrapped up in this fight if it did break out. He be good to have but he had little fighting skills and Nix could take advantage over that, he was safer with the neutral party of Alia.

"Ardere didn't say anything of the sorts to me, and if he had it's not like I would have obeyed anyways, I enjoy my freedom too much to take commands." He tried to sound as calm and rational as possible he didnt want to piss off Nix anymore than he already had. "And Ms. Nix I couldn't bring myself to hurt anything as beautiful as either yuo or Ms. Alia. Plus who knows how that battle would play out. I dont get frost bite as easy as Ardere does so looking down on me wouldn't be wise either. A fight now could get you disqualified and me arrested, and neither of those sounds too fun do they?" He couldn't help himself from poking Nix one last time before ending that conversation. A fight between the two now could lead in both them getting in serious trouble, but he wasn't so sure if that would stop her. He didn't plan on fighting today but if its to save his life he would go all out.

A frown quickly spread across the face of the young girl. Her ice cream plan was foiled and things seemed to have gotten worse. A chill danced down her spine at the thought of those poor church-goers, but she reserved her judgement choosing to believe Nix had her reasons. After all, people didn't simply waltz into a town and murder people for no reason whatsoever right?

No Nix was more calculating than that. Aila just couldn't see the woman giving into such a savage instinct. Every move the woman made seemed to have some kind of meaning.

"L-lance" Aila felt herself shaking slightly as she spoke "Perhaps we haven't heard the whole story ne? Nix hasn't exactly been acting like a crazed murderer this entire morning right?"

Her hands drifted up as she stepped between the two. Before she knew it she was standing directly in-between the two, blocking them both from hurting each other. Well, as much as the small girl could that is."How about we calm down and talk this over without any guards getting involved ok?"

Her eyes darted to the nervous looking figures around them. The guards were getting restless, and Aila could see why. The temperature in the area seemed to keep dropping. In fact Aila could vaguely see a wispy vapor trail accompanying her every breath. All around people were gathering to see the outcome, even several of the Nix fans from before were there.

Nix chuckled is amusement as Aila stepped in between Lance and herself. A crowd had begun to gather around them as well as a fair amount of guards. No doubt if they began fighting here, a majority of these peoples' last breaths would be taken today. The main focus of the guards' attention was Nix herself, as they had heard was she was capable of and even seen a portion of it in the arena and at the hotel. Nix seemed to pay the gathering crowd little mind, instead focused entirely Aila and Lance. After engaging in a stare down that lasted a few more seconds, Nix suddenly dropped the temperature in the area to near freezing.

"You seem not to be fully aware of God Slayer magic's capabilities, so I will disregard your statement. But know this, boy...." She paused as the temperature dropped to below freezing, the ground beginning to frost over and crack due to the sheer cold. "I am the wrong Ice mage to make an enemy of. Should I encounter Ardere in the next round, I will not stop short of reducing him to a frozen, half dead husk. If you attempt to get in my way, you will not be so lucky." She warned as the change in temperature faded almost instantly. She then let out a patronizing grunt then flipped her hair back over her shoulder before looking at Aila. "I believe you were asking about ice cream, correct? I do believe that I am in the mood for such a treat. Shall we?" She asked calmly while gesturing towards the nearby concession booths, as if the brief outburst not even happened.

Lance couldn't help but shiver as Nix turned to get ice cream. The crowd around them was whispering. Nix had threaten to take Ardere down in the next round if it came to that but Lance hoped to see another scene. Nix had done something horrible but Lance couldn't help but feel interested in her. She was dangerous but seemed like she could be fun. He let out a little chuckle as her and Alia headed to the ice cream stand. He didn't know how a fight between the two would turn out but he didn't want to find out here at least. Maybe the two would cross paths another time. Nix looked down on him and Ardere he could already tell that, think that her God Slayer magic would be able to over come their dragon slayer, but dragons were not creatures to take lightly.

He didn't want to make an enemy out of Nix but if she tried to hurt any of his friends he couldn't sit by. She seemed to be annoyed with him now but he wasn't too concerned. He felt bad for poor Alia being stuck in the middle of his and Nix's little spat. He hoped that she didn't think less of either. He didn't want to call out Nix in front of her like that but he wanted the truth. Hopefully Alia wouldn't be scared off. He walked over to the ice cream stand. "I would like a double scoop of vanilla, and I believe Moki wanted a quadruple scoop of strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla, and if you have fish that flavor too if not another thing of strawberry." He took his ice cream and headed for a park bench a few feet over. He sat down and went to town. He halfway finished the first scoop in two bites. He slowed down a bit so that he wouldn't be done while the others are still eating theres.

Malacanth was exploring Era ever since he arrived here. The city was so fascinating that he walked around aimlessly. So aimlessly that he got lost. He went through quiet an adventure from getting lost. Three muggers tried to get him. They didn't find him an easy target though. After the muggers were knocked out he found his way here. Now this is what he wants to see. Powerful mages going at it. That mage is so powerful she was freezing him! Should he talk to them or just watch? His curiosity got the better of them though. He charged through the guards, knocking two guards down without meaning to and walked up to the three of them, deciding at this point the ice girl is not the best option at first. He ended up standing in front of the guy their and he said " hello, you three must be mages aren't you, nice to finally meet you. My name is Malacanth." He looked between them gettin a good look. One girl was scary, the other girl seemed nice and the youngest of the group, and the guy seemed nice too. Hopefully they would talk back and not act like he didn't exist. That would suck to be ignored by the first mages he knew outside of Erebos or the weak travelers that passed by. He studied them more closely and it seemed they were having some sort of confrontation, or at least the scary girl and guy did. The other girl didn't seem to exactly know whats going on like himself.
