| Character Template Persona - Spoiler:
Name: UlrichGender: Male Age: 23 Birthdate: 09/20 Sexuality: Pansexual Personality:Ulrich is typically gregarious. Making him fond of others company, preferably in groups. He often likes to let conversations flow, though. Enjoying being part of a group, rather than the focus. Being an avid fisher, he's quite patient when needed. Although knowing how impatient many others are, he often does try to nudge a group that seems to be becoming agitated in idleness some direction or another. His patience is matched by an odd enjoyment of almost anything. As long as he is doing something with someone, he generally appears to have a good time. As he often can find said good times in any activity, he is rather reluctant to irked when a decision lands on his shoulders. He'd much rather just follow someone else's lead, knowing then he would not need to somehow "entertain" others while doing an activity he chose. Likes:- Spoiler:
Water - Born in wetlands, Ulrich has an excessive enjoyment to water in almost all forms. Baths commonly consist of high temperatures and long durations. Trips to a pool could take all day, or perhaps even cause him to become irritable if interrupted or cut short.
Cooking (Fish) - Stores or restaurants and the like weren't right around the corner for Ulrich growing up. He learned to prepare easy and good tasting meals from his folks, and grew to enjoy the act. His favorite thing among anything to prepare has always been Fish, perhaps simply from the frequency of such growing up in swamps.
Relaxing - If water and cooking were his primary loves in life, some basic R&R was his close second. If he could, he'd eat home cooked food 'till he couldn't, get into a hot bath, and pass right out. Maybe even just eat in the bath if he was feeling up to it.
Violin - Both his parents were Violin players of all things, although by Hobby rather than Profession. His father skillful in some good fiddling, while his mother enjoyed to string some more classical styles. He learned fiddling well from his pa'. Good for putting on a show or livening up a party, but whenever he gets some quiet time alone, he does enjoy something more melodious to remind him of his ma'.
Dislikes: - Spoiler:
Dry heat - Swamps are usually hot, at least how he's used to them. So it being hot and muggy never really bothers him. What really gets him is just a continuous dry heat. Something that parches you fierce. His hide gets coarse, his underside and palms get flaky. Eyes burn like you'd sweated into them, throat and nose drying right up. It's a disgusting feeling he quickly tries to fix.
Food, Specific - Most people don't like this, or don't like that, when it comes to food. Ulrich for some reason has an extensive list of likes and dislikes when it comes to culinary cuisine. It always seems less about what it is, and more some aspect of the food. Texture being one of the highest rated things, sometimes even out-rating the taste of something. Overall he seems to just have some sort of OCD when it comes to food, and every so often he'll mutter a disgusted whine when he had to eat something.
Being alone - While not the most social individual in the world, he enjoys the comfort of people area him. Or at the very least, within earshot. It's a very calming notion knowing that if you're in trouble, someone can hear you scream.
Irksome Personalities - The definition of such is rather vague, but Ulrich has been known to state he dislikes people by a certain criteria very quickly. If he finds their personality, their way of interacting with others, and dealing with issues; 'Irksome', he quickly attempts to sever ties with them through avoidance. Sometimes even being outright rude back to them, if they persist in some manner. He does not seem to be afraid of being thought of poorly in the eyes of someone he's deemed too much effort.
Motivations: - Spoiler:
Ulrich is actually perhaps the most unmotivated individual one could ever meet, before someone could be called lazy or even slothful. It isn't quite like he doesn't want to do anything, but his dream life is really doing the bare minimums to in turn do whatever he wants. Too much commitment would eat into his free time.
When his parents passed away though, Ulrich felt he didn't quite want to just continue a simple life of backwater fishing and trade among a (possibly) inbred swamp. He didn't feel a grandeur for great things, but at the very least felt the need to do something new. Something he could claim was his doing, not just what his parents had done, and his parent's parents.
Packing up some bare necessities and a few mementos felt like the best thing he'd done in years. Of course, a wetlands fisherman isn't a paying gig in the middle of a city. After some failed attempts at some possibly respectable ways to upkeep himself, he learned more of the magic guilds.
He isn't some masterful artisan of magic. Just some dirty swamp magic passed down from his mother's side, but maybe it's enough to deal with some of the low rank tasks he hears magic users handle. For sure, even the more menial tasks they do are easily worth a week's room and board. Plus, hey, as long as he doesn't fight some psycho-super-powered freaks, he can always just punch someone's face in. It sounds like a way to make some good living, while keeping things interesting at the same time.
Fears:- Spoiler:
Heights - Not the rarest of fears, but still something. He isn't quite 'scared' of heights, rather extremely uncomfortable when noticing them. He doesn't mind being on a higher level, or looking out a window, or even being on a roof. Catching a glimpse down a ledge though could easily make him flinch, though.
Darkness/The Unseen - Not the best dislike/phobia to have when your living space probably has the shoddiest lighting systems in existence. It just appears to be some sort of irrational fear, which he completely conceptualizes even himself as being irrational. Best he usually can explain is his imagination kicking into overdrive when he can't fully see something, and his senses just spaz out to the point he needs to remove himself or suffer growing psychological disorientation.
Isolation - Another irrational fear, but thankfully one that doesn't manifest unless coupled by another phobia or irrationality. Usually others act as a grounding for his senses. He can call out to someone, or simply know if something ever did happen someone is in ear-shot. Being alone or isolated in of itself doesn't drive him over and ridges, but intensifies any other stress by magnitudes. What could be just 'heebie jeebies' at passing a door who's room is completely devoid of light can turn into a near outright freakout all of its own. Including, but not limited to, girlish scurrying - frightened flinches - screaming inside - and general being a pansy.
General Appearance Height: 6' 9'' Weight: 320+ Overweight, but heavy and tight rather than flabby Hair: N/A Eyes: Brown Skin Tone: Hunter Green hide, Olive underside Appearance:- Spoiler:
Ulrich stands rather tall to the average human. Some sort of reptilian humanoid, born from the swamplands. Something between an alligator and a crocodile. He himself isn't really sure, often rehashing the fact he only rarely met non-kin before journeying. The concept of a racial name apparently never struck him to be asked, and he has no idea what he's supposed to be called. His leathery hide is a dark green hue, while his underside is something of a lighter tan/green. People tell him it's Olive. He's seen an olive, and has no idea why they'd say he's the same as those black things. Black talons, thick tail almost coming down to the ground.
His build is rather heavy. Well developed muscles, but not quite looking on the side of dedicated body building. His midsection swollen some, and stiff to the touch. Almost looking like his abdomen was just continually inflated from something. The rest of him looked rather thick as well, a layer of weight across everything making his musculature appear even larger than it was in a mild illusion.
His clothing often only includes some sort of bottom apparel, explaining the feeling of fabric across his hide was similar to someone fingering silk with dry hands, as most cotton-like cloth catches awkwardly on his body. Generally seeming to prefer fabrics such as jean, and if the possibility in some sort of short method. Elaborating he's just used to it, as long leggings were bothersome if they became wet.
Guild Guild: N/A Tattoo: N/A :: Would accept it on his Palm Rank: D Magic Primary Magic: Slime Make Secondary Magic: N/A Caster or Holder: Caster Description: - Spoiler:
Slime Make is a dirty old magic, rare only in the fact not a lot of people would even think of such an odd creation magic. It usually only crops up in wetlands, though some cultists or rare odd folk might practice it. Slime Make is the magic of producing and shaping Slime and Ooze of varying properties.
The most common Slime produced is of a dark green hue and translucent. Its density is near that of water, about one and a half ounces in weight being one ounce in volume. It is a very basic biological material, and could be considered 'alive' if the magic didn't seem to always create inert forms of it. Edible, should the need arise, though producing about as much nutrients as a loaf of bread. Good filler, but one would become malnourished over time, regardless of how much was eaten. Beyond what a moist, semi-solid biological material might possess, this basic form of the Slime has no properties. Slime Make producing Slime of any other properties usually requires high degrees of skill.
Slime or Ooze is highly soluble, a dollop mixed into a cup of water almost appearing to just be a glass of water (besides perhaps a strange taste, or the faintest green hue). The substance as a whole has no ability to retain it's shape, cut and smushed with ease, though it exhibits properties of non-Newtonian fluids, solidifying in reaction to force. It seems to be a very poor conductor of both thermal and electrical energy though, making it useful of all things as a strange way to keep frozen goods as such. Slime is also handy, in that just coating a target in such does make them rather awkward to move. Not quite sticky, but definitely not like being splashed with water.
Slime Make is usually practiced in two forms. Each trained in unison, but usually a practitioner finds a preference for one or the other. Conjured and Created. The average Slime Make spell is Conjured, any Slime or Ooze created fades after a certain amount of time, usually depending on the spell. If the spell has no special duration, the Slime usually lasts for a few seconds per Spell Rank (1 Post per). Instead, the Slime can be Created. The spell is cast with a magic cost of one Rank higher, without changing the Spell's effective rank. (Ex. A C Rank Slime Make that is Created costs 30 Magic, rather than 20. It remains a C Rank spell in Effectiveness.)
As Slime has no actual way to retain it's form beyond the magic imbued into it, slime will quickly lose its form as the magic runs out. Slime Make made by Conjuring retains it's rigidity of form (barring outside influence) until it fizzles away. Slime Make made by Creating retains its shape (again, barring outside influence) for as long as the same Slime Make would have lasted being Conjured. After such point, it no longer can function beyond being its basic properties, unless the Spell states otherwise.
Strengths: Basic Slime is a poor conductor for thermal and electrical energy. As such, Slime Make acts at a Rank higher against Fire and Electric type effects. Eventually it will start to broil, smolder, scald, bubble, and generally react as any organic substance enduring the effect would - But at a highly resistant fashion. As well, in sufficient quantities, slime acts as an amazing inertial dampener. Exhibiting qualities of non-Newtonian fluids. This makes Slime highly resistant to Bashing effects, stiffening and subduing most impacts. Slime Make acts as a Rank Higher against Blunt type effects. Weaknesses: Basic slime is highly soluble, and easily manipulated when it's non-Newtonian properties are not reacting. This makes Slime Make react a Rank Lower against any effect which can be categorized as being able to dilute the Slime, ruin it's shape without triggering it's blunt resistance, or physical effects of Piercing or Cutting qualities. This can be quite a number of influences, the simplest more 'Magical' weaknesses thus being things like Water or Wind diluting or whipping a Slime Make production apart. Barriers easily stabbed or sliced through if the force is cautioned. So on and So forth. Extra History: - Spoiler:
Ulrich has a rather quiet back-story. Born to Bil Mayton and Anna Day, who took on her husband's family name of Mayton on their wedding day. Bil, full name William Lee Mayton, was a down to earth swamp-man. Fishing his suppers, and trading extra with neighbors a quick boat ride away. Anna Marie Day lived closer to the more civilized parts of the wetlands, interacting with more 'normal' folk quite often. Enjoying book learning the average swamp go-er never got. They met one happen's chance, when Bil brought a load of fish out to the edges of the swamps for trade. The lilting tunes of her violin catching Bil's ears while she sat playing for the fun of it. They started meeting during his market outings, which grew more and more frequent with his fondness for her.
Eventually Anna trades Day for Mayton, and settles down in the deeper segments of the swamp with Bil. A downgrade from her old life, but she came to enjoy the simplicity of it all. Not more than a year later came Ulrich, named by his mother after some fancy musician who's details flew right over Bil's head. He learned fishing and general how-to's from his Pa', and all that Book Learning his Ma' could give him. He played with other kids on trips and outings sometimes, but usually spent all his time either helping his Pa' or learning from his Ma'.
His parents were well built, but generally Sleek folk. Erring the question of how Ulrich grew to be such a paunchy reptile. Bil' held no ties to whatever family he had, and Anna seemed to not keep much contact with her father back on the outskirts (most likely from her Father thinking Bil was such a Downgrade). As such, they doted their every affections on the poor kid. It didn't help that once he learned to cook himself, he realized being literally in the middle of a body of water, he had infinite access to all the fish he could eat. Except for when his Pa' needed help catching a good quota, every catch he got he made sure not to waste.
Something happened around the age of twenty-one, in which Ulrich's parents passed away. Sadly, this knowledge is kept secret by Ulrich himself. Anyone who asks about his parents get the stories he can remember, good folk and all. Anyone asking about them now usually gets something along the lines of him not keeping contact with them much. 'It's not like I can send a letter to the middle of a Swamp, now can I?'
Rp Sample:- Spoiler:
The hefty reptile yawned heavily as he stretched, stirring from his mid-afternoon nap. With squinting eyes he peered about, confused to his current surroundings. The lingering taste of cheap liquors hung in his mouth, hinting to himself where the lost memories of the late-morning/early-afternoon went. With a sigh he hefted himself up, brushing off his stiff gut before the rest of himself. Gathering his disheveled supplies, he heckled a quiet laugh when he found he somehow had more money than he remembered waking up with. "Hope whoe'er this is from ain't lookin' for it no time soon.." he muttered, snorting a bit of a chuckle once again as he tugged at his denim shorts.
With all his belongings either in his pockets or at the end of his fishing pole, he sauntered his way through the town streets again. "Might as well put this 'lil extra to good use" he uttered, letting out a raspy cackle as he made his way to a pub - Hoping to try and win a bit more brokering his cash on cards. Too bad his missing segment of memory was him already doing this once today, and hopefully he just doesn't swing by the same tavern and get roughed up by some sore losers.

Edit List- Spoiler:
Edit 1: Fixed some spelling mistakes. Patients into Patience, and Shushed into Smushed.
Edit 2: Added addendum to spell description, elaborating Slime's inability to hold its shape after Conjuring Duration. Making it so Slime Makers cannot just create a Slime Wall and hide behind it infinitely. - Added Edit List.
Edit 3: Added the weight/volume of Slime. In Ounces, it is 3:2 Weight to Volume, being 1.5x Dense to Water.
Edit 4: Added the fact Slime is pretty debilitating to be coated in. Not like being submerged in rubber or quick drying glue, but it isn't like just being splashed with water. Assumed that would be something obvious, but wrote it out for emphasis.
Edit 5: Added where his Guild Tattoo would be, if/when he joined a guild. As per Eve_Furey's request to.
