Taking shaky breaths, Eve waited inside the door that opened into the arena. She had her eyes closed so she wouldn't be overcome by any fears she normally kept under lock and key. Beside those fears was another emotion - something that was warring with the fear in a constant turmoil in her heart. Pride. With pride came confidence, and with confidence came determination. Her pride came from her home - Lamia Scale - and she intended to bring her home its due justice in the arena. Their just rewards.
The doors before her slid apart, slowly letting a crack of light seep in. It grew, and Eve heard a soft click signaling that the doors had been opened.
Eve's eyes snapped open to find a mass of people before her - the largest crowd she had ever seen before. The onslaught of noise caught her off guard, and she flinched, taking a step back. Damn... Why must it be so noisy? She squinted in the bright, afternoon light and took mechanical steps forward, as there was no turning back.
Despite her distaste for such things as noise and intense light, after a while she could feel the cheers reverberating in her chest, her heart and soul feeling more alive than ever before. She took a few more steps forward into the light, and it was then that, over the roar of the crowd, she heard the announcer speak.
"Ladies and gents of all ages, sizes, blood types, and magics! Entering the arena now, we have Miss Eve Furey, the renowned Lamia Scale beauty! Across Fiore she is known for her short fuse, so watch out for that temper! It's been known to give way to more merciless actions, such sadistic tendencies giving her the name of the one and only 'Merciless Furey!'"
Scoffing, Eve's previous anxiety dissipated, as she was now slightly infuriated by the announcer. What the hell does he know? Short fuse?! Yeah, short fuse my ASS! Glaring up at the crowd now, she marched onwards, gaining even louder cheers from the audience. "If you all don't shut up I'm going to slaughter your children!" she yelled, hoping to quiet the masses. Such words would normally make mothers scurry off, but this time it seemed to make the noise grow even louder. Her head throbbed with pain, and it took everything she had not to attack the idiots screeching their heads off. My damned opponent better get here soon... She cracked her neck, yearning to release some of the tension in her muscles with a good ass kicking.

Akua waited at the foot of the massive doors leading to the tournament grounds, eager for his battle to begin. His first sound was of doors opening far away and a voice introducing Eve Furey, a Lamia Scale mage. She was said to have a short temper and then the announcer, for who else could it be, called her by a nickname that seemed to be intimidating but didn't bother Akua: Merciless Furey. Akua smirked, calling someone by their nickname, no matter how threatening it was meant to sound, sounded quite pathetic in Akua's eyes. But then his turn came.
The doors creaked open, letting the first beams of light into Akua's midst. He smiled, as his fight was about to begin. The announcer then spoke for him,"And now, facing Eve, is a man who appeared out of nowhere and instantly became strong. He came from the heavens, and his power is proof. It is my pleasure to welcome Raven Tail's very own God... Akua Pura."
With his name spoken, Akua walked into the stadium and approached the centre, his eyes fixed on his opponent. He wasn't looking at her as such, just watching her movements, waiting to see what her magic was and what she could do.

"Finally!" Eve cried, watching her opponent approach. "It's about time, Mr. Slowpoke." The announcer said something about a god, but surely he wasn't talking about Akua. A god? How the hell could he be a god? Scowling, she eyed her opponent, taking in his odd appearance. It slightly unnerved her that he was doing the same. He looks kind of ill... Oh well. Not my problem. Brushing her fingertips across the card holster attached to her right thigh, she whipped out one of her cards and held it before her. "Diamond Strike," she said softly, licking her lips. The card in her hand glowed and her magic circle appeared, summoning four other cards. All of their edged grew sharper, causing them all to change into offensive weapons. Let's see what this guy can do, she thought. I've waited long enough.
Sweeping her arm forward, she threw the original card at Akua, and the other cards flew at him, following the original. Eve watched the five projectiles make their way towards the Raven Tail mage, hoping at least one would leave a scratch. And that he'll reveal his magic, she added mentally.
The crowd's cheering had seemed to tone down, and Eve was grateful. Easier for me to concentrate.

Name: Diamond Strike Rank: D Magic Cost: 10 Requirements: Have the card in hand Class: Offense Element: No element Effect: This card summon more cards (sharpened, offensive cards) to attack with. The number of cards depends on the number of the original card (IE: Card number 7 will summon 6 extra cards with sharp edges to attack with - the original card's edges are also sharpened). The cards move forward with the sweep of Eve's arm, and all but the original card disappears upon contact. The original card will remain in/on the opponent/whatever stopped it until Eve or another picks it up. A disadvantage to this spell is that if the opponent is quick enough, they can dodge the cards. And, if the opponent caches on, they can easily maneuver around her attacks, since every diamond card does the same thing (with the exception of the number of cards summoned). The cards can only go about 1/2 inch deep into the skin, so unless it slices the opponent, it won't do much damage. Eve only has cards numbered 3, 5, and 7, though (out of 9 possible diamond cards). Eve seemed to be happy that her match was about to begin, as eager as Akua by the looks of things. She then revealed her magic. She took out a card from a holster strapped to her thigh and murmured something, obviously the name of a spell she had. Four identical cards then appeared with the other card and then the woman threw the first card which made the other 4 cards move as well. Akua knew the best way to begin, the crowd was silent, waiting for Akua to react. He took in a deep breath and shouted, for all to hear, "Bellow of the Water God." He then shot out his spell at blazing speeds. The crowd gasped at his magic, obviously unaware of a God Slayer. The Water Torrent easily stopped the cards and went straight on threw to the woman, Eve. Akua wanted this to end quickly and he felt sorry for the woman as water and paper cards did not mix well.

Well shit, Eve thought, her face paling. A water god. A legit god magic user. She mentally cursed herself (and whomever set up the matches) for this twist of fate. Guess I'll just have to try a little harder.
"Bellow of the Water God!"
Eve scowled as she saw her opponent begin an attack. Good thing my cards are more durable than he may think... Sucking in a quick breath, she slid another card out of her holster and dropped to the ground. "Earth Shake!" she cried, slamming her magic card onto the ground. As her spell took affect, she covered her card holster with her body and braced herself. Akua's bellow didn't hit her directly, but she was still given a light shower. Before his spell was over, hers took affect. The ground began to quake, and the rock-hard arena floor cracked and chunks of it flew up at Akua, some razor sharp, others heavier with more power to them. Since the arena was made of much harder material than your average dirt mound, being hit by this would hurt more than usual.
Eve rose slowly, enjoying the cool water on her backside. It was a hot day, after all. Returning her attention to her opponent, she steadied her breathing and waiting to see how he handled her spell. Alright, water god. Show me what you can do.

Name: Earth Shake Rank: C Magic Cost: 20 Requirements: Place card on ground in front of Eve. Class: Offense/Supplementary Element: Earth Effect: Once activated, the card glows and causes the earth up to 50 feet in front of Eve to shake (50ft forward and 9.5ft to her left and right - so it's 50ft long and 20ft wide). (Like a mini earthquake). The ground gains large cracks, and the force is enough to where sharp and blunt pieces of earth jump up and hit the opponent (the blunt pieces are larger and hit with more force). It has the force to knock over an opponent and cause them to gain more damage (they only gain more damage if they fall). This card cannot be used on water, but it can be used on cement or any earth-based type floor. If used on wood, the floor only cracks and leaves large, splintered pieces standing upright. The spell can still knock an opponent over, so they'll need to try and not fall onto a wood shard. This spell works up to a 50ft distance. CD: 2 Dur: Instant

Akua saw his bellow fail and not do as much damage as he would had hoped. Before his spell was fully finished. Eve's began. A miniature earthquake occurred, sending rocks towards Akua. Some of the rocks were sharp, and could pierce his skin, others were more for blunt force and were slower than the sharper ones, but only just. The thing in common: they were all coming towards Akua. He had a spell which he could use but he wasn't sure if it would work. He silently prayed to Aquanis and then jumped into the air, avoiding the rocks but being open to attack. When he landed, he whispered, "Blades of the Water Goddess" In his hands came two blades made out of water which were stronger than steel. Akua ran towards the woman, swords in hand, ready to jump out of the way in case the woman used another attack, which she obviously would.

A scowl marred Eve's features as she watched Akua dodge every single piece of earth aimed at him. Looks like I'll have to try a little harder... She pulled out another spell and held it in front of her, but before she could use it, Akua had landed and was charging towards her.
Water blades? Licking her lips, Eve watched her opponent approach, returning her card to her holster and grabbing another one. "Earth Wall," she muttered, holding it before her. It glowed, and her magic circle appeared. In the blink of an eye, a thick wall of earth appeared before her, sheltering her from Akua's blades. She hoped to hear the thud of his blades against it, but she wasn't going to waste her one moment for attack by listening for a hit. Reacting quickly, Eve slid out from behind the wall and held out another card. It glowed as it took affect. "Lightning Shot!"
A bolt of lightning burst forth from the card and her magic circle, aimed for a direct hit on the water god.

Name: Earth Wall Rank: C Magic Cost: 20 Requirements: Have at least a 5ft radius of soil around the character Class: Defense Element: Earth Effect: When activated, the card glows and a wall of earth about 1ft deep rises in front of the character. The height depends on how much Magic Power Eve has left, but it is usually only 6ft tall. It forms a straight, vertical wall that spans 6 ft in length. If attacked, Eve can use this card to create a barrier. It takes 1 second to form, though, so if she isn't fast enough in casting, she could be in trouble. It is strong against physical, fire and lightning attacks but weak against wind, water, and ice attacks. It can take 2 spells of equal rank. As Akua was running towards the woman, she used another card, this time creating a wall of Earth in front of her. Awaiting a surprise attack, Akua put his weapons into his mouth and then whispered, "Water God's Choke" It came out as a splutter, barely audible, but the feeling was there, so a hand appeared out of Akua's right hand. The attack was meant for offence but this time he wouldn't be attacking with it, not yet at least. He pushed the hand into the ground to propel himself into the air and over the rock wall. Thus, when Eve used her lightning spell, much to Akua's dislike, he was already over it. He would then try to use his Water hand once more, since it was still there, and try to grab Even Furey, stopping her hand movements and thus her magic. The grip, being as strong as stone, would be hard to break out of. And so, if it worked, Akua would take one of his Water blades and press it against Eve's neck, saying, "Do you give in?"

Eve, not believing her eyes when the man jumped over her earth wall and evaded her lightning attack, hastily ran in the direction Akua had just come from. He had seemed to propel himself over her earth wall, so now they were divided by it. She pulled out another card and used it, her magic circle appearing as the spell took affect. "Spade Storm," she muttered, facing the general area she believed Akua to be in.
The seconds ticked by, but suddenly black spades came whizzing by from all directions, all of them bent of slicing Akua. Eve watched from a distance and put her card back in its holster. Think of another attack, Eve, she told herself, biting her lip. Piercing the skin on her lip, she frowned as she felt a tiny pearl of blood pool up. Now you're hurting yourself. Her shoulders shook as a low chuckle reverberated through her, and she cracked her neck. This is taking too long.

Name: Spade Storm Rank: C Magic Cost: 20 Requirements: Have the card in hand Class: Offense Element: No element Effect: Once activated, 50 spades come in from the sky - but not from straight above the opponent. They seem to fly in like birds and come at an angle, swooping down and cutting the desired object. The spades are about the size of a normal person's fist, and they come in at different intervals - just not in waves. They come from all directions. The cuts they make are about 1/2 inch deep and do little more than irritate the skin, but after a moment, the spade's effect kicks in. The cuts will begin to burn, causing intense pain that lasts for 3 turns after they disappear. Cooldown: 2 Duration: 1 post after summoned

Akua landed, hoping for the woman to be there, but she was not. She had run around the Earth wall, to safety, and was obviously about to use another spell. Before her spell was finished, Akua knew he would have to get to her. His blades were going to leave him in the next few minutes so he had to hurry and get to her. He ran at her, blade held high, when multiple spades came down to the sky, all aimed for Akua. He knew that he wouldn't be able to dodge any of them so he ignored them for the time being. They made minor cuts, but still were painful. If Akua reached Eve, he would grab her and the stick some of his own spades into her. Firstly, the spades started to burn which made Akua smile. She was trying to burn the God of Water. Akua used a simple spell, muttering, "Rain of the Water God." A light shower appeared above Akua, potentially healing the cuts, as he caught up with Eve.

This had come to my notice that there has been "God Modding" in this thread. This includes "Auto Hitting."
The sentence that has caught my attention for this is: "He used his Water hand once more, since it was still there, and grabbed Even Furey, stopping her hand movements and thus her magic."
In that sentence, the mage, Akua, attacks the other mage, Eve. The use of Auto Hitting in this sentence was when Akua, grabbed Eve. Instead of that, it should've said "Akua then attempted to grab Eve...".
Due to this, the member/user Akua must edit his post. After that is done, Eve can edit her post and the fight can continue.

As Akua ran towards Eve, she couldn't help but marvel his speed. And he has those blades. Scowling, she pulled out another magic card. I can't let him hit me... As he got closer, however, her mind blanked. Only the slice of her spades, as with Akua closing the distance between them, the spades couldn't miss their caster, caused her to move. Digging her heel into the arena, she pulled out another card, holding it in front of her as it took affect. "Transfer!"
A large, white-faced card appeared before her, and Eve jumped through it. Immediately after Eve's entrance, it disappeared with a pop. Moments later, Eve reappeared from another giant card behind Akua. It was hovering about one foot above the ground, so she hit the ground with a thud. "Earth Shake!" she cried, dropping to the ground and slamming her palm to it. Chunks of the stage broke loose once more, and Eve really hoped that the "water god" didn't have eyes in the back of his head. Even if he did, the attack had a range of 50 feet in front of her. Hard to dodge, right? Eve's thoughts were cut off my a sudden burning pain in her left arm - where she had been scratched by her spade.

The giant card face is plain white, and Eve can use this to relocate herself to another position. By walking/jumping into the card near her, she can reappear out of the other one. (She could sneak up on an opponent from behind or escape an oncoming attack.) If an opponent noticed this, however, they can also use it to their advantage. As soon as Eve relocates, the two cards disappear. Cooldown: 2 Duration: Instant

Akua got to Eve, well, he would've if she hadn't disappeared. She had stepped into a white card and had disappeared. Not knowing exactly where she was, Akua stepped backwards... and saw Eve right above him. She dropped onto the ground, slamming a card onto the ground no doubt. She spoke, her words inaudible to Akua, but then, once again, the ground started to rumble which meant the same spell was being used. Rocks, sharp and small as well as blunt and large, came flying at Akua from all over. On one side, Eve would get hit by some of her own rocks but so would Akua. Then he used a spell of his. "Slices of the Water Goddess." Seven slices of water shot out from all over Akua, some heading for Eve, others for the rocks. Eve was trapped, rocks on one side and Akua's spell on the other. This was going to hurt.

Eve was pretty sure that she would come out of this battle with a new enemy. So far he had managed to piss her off beyond belief, and she was about ready to slaughter his entire family, if not his entire country. If only I weren't too nice for such things.
The rocks began to fly; Eve was not affected by them since the quake happened around her, not right under her body, as that was the spell effect. But that didn't seem to help her much - Akua had sent some water nonsense at her, and she was pretty sure that she couldn't dodge. Shit shit shit! She whipped out two other cards and got onto her knees, holding them towards Akua. "Lightning shot!" she cried, her anger causing her heat to race. "Flash!" Both cards activated at the same time. A bolt of lightning shot out of her magic circle, heading for Akua, and immediately after, an intense flash of light covered everything in sight. Good luck dodging what you can't see.
This did not stop Akua's water attack, however, so Eve was left unguarded. Luckily, a rock shard jumped up at the exact moment one came towards her (unknown to Eve since she was momentarily left with double-vision). The water hit the rock, causing it to shatter and its pieces smash into Eve. One nasty piece hit her head and caused a trail of blood to slide down the edge of her forehead.

Akua saw Eve pull out two more cards and silently cursed, knowing that anything could happen. Eve said Lightning Shot so Akua, annoyed at the element shouted, quickly jumped up, using some of the broken rocks to jump even higher than he normally could. The other card had been used and Akua had heard "Flash" as he was jumping. He looked up, hoping not to get affected by the light that he assumed was appearing below him. After a few more seconds, Akua reached the top of the rocks. He jumped as high as he could and, now about level with the crowd of spectators around him, he screamed. "Blades of the Water Goddess." The two blades once again appeared in his hands and Akua, using gravity and momentum to his advantage, he dived, face first, down to Eve.
At the last second, he twisted his body, righting himself. But, while he was spinning, he held out his blades, cutting Eve in the chest. His blades did not go deep, for he did not wish to injure her too badly. She fell to the floor and Akua smiled, relieved that his battle was finished. He looked up and thought to himself, That combo needs a name. Hmm... I know. He raised the blades into the air and screamed, "Drill of the Water Goddess!" Then the announcer spoke, "It seems that, after a long and tiring battle between two insanely strong mages, the winner is the divine. Raven Tail's Akua Pura ascends, not only to the next match, but to the title of legend." Smiling at his new aliases, Akua began to walk back to his hotel room, hoping to pray to his mistress and await further instructions.
