Practice Practice Practice

Eirene woke up early this morning and for good reason. The day before Eirene had decided that she was going to create a new spell for herself. You see, up until now all of her spells had been created to help her friends but now she was apart of Fairy Tail and she would be going on missions that would sometimes require her to fight against an opponent, and for this she would need some kind of offensive spell to deal with the threat.

As Eirene entered the forest she closed her eyes and began to focus. As she did she began to glow a pale blue color and six wings grew from her back as she floated into the air. Eirene looked around, trying to find a sturdy target to practice on so that she could be sure the spell would actually work in a combat situation. Eventually she found a rather large tree a little ways into the forest. "This should be perfect." Eirene gathered magical energy into her right hand and focused it at the tree and tried releasing it but all it did was release a Flash spell, which was a useful spell but did not help her right now. "come on Eirene concentrate you can do this." Eirene focused the energy in her hand again this time concentrating more and waiting a little bit longer before releasing the energy. As she did a beam of light shot out from her hand towards the tree but it did not seem to have any effect. "Almost there Eirene keep it up!" Eirene was trying to keep herself motivated, she was close to creating her first offensive spell, she could feel it. Eirene gathered energy one more time focusing it into her hand this time she gathered more than ever, the light began to rotate rapidly in her palm and she pointed it at the tree firing a beam of light in its direction, as the light faded it seemed to be a success, she flew over to the tree and there were scorch marks where the beam had hit "Success! now to try it on something living." Eirene looked around and eventually saw a bird she didnt want to hurt it but she had to test the spell somehow. Eirene tried to gather the energy in her palm a second time but couldn't seem to do it right away. that blast had taken a lot of her energy so she waited a few moments and the tried to gather then energy again. This time it worked and she began to form another ball of light in her right palm. She aimed it at the bird carefully and released the beam at the animal but it missed as the bird flew away. Eirene looked around for something else. She was somewhat relieved that she had missed as she had not wanted to hurt the innocent animal. Just then a man jumped out from behind some trees with a knife. "Well well, what do we have here? The man began to laugh Give me all of your jewels and I'll leave you in peace. the man said as he started to walk closer. Eirene flew up higher into the air "Well this works out, now I can test my spell on you instead of one of these innocent animals." The man looked at her, a little confused, as she began to gather energy into both of her hands. She pointed them both at the man and then released the gathered energy. As she did the man started to run but he wasnt fast enough and was hit by the beam of light. As the energy beam faded the man was on the ground with clear burn marks on his exposed skin and some of his clothes burned off. Eirene flew down to where he was laying and cast a minor healing spell on him which helped with the pain but was not enough to completely heal his injuries. "You should remember this next time you try to rob someone." Eirene said as she flew away, she headed back towards the town. Eirene had more things that she had to do today like shopping and cleaning up her apartment plus she was pretty worn out from all of this training. She had also made plans to spend time with some of her friends in Fairy Tail and she wanted to see if there were any requests she could take on the request board today.
