Personality: Personality wise, Shadow is usually quiet and obedient towards most. He rarely shows emotion and is usually seen with a blank expression on his face. Whenever he does show emotion, his expression still remains a blank stare unless its something that really gets a reaction from him. It's strange, but Shadow doesn't usually find joy out of most things. What is there for him to smile for is usually the logic for this. It's incredibly difficult to get him to smile.
Coincidentally, Shadow shows a gentler side with Shiro. With him he seems kinder, mostly because he doesn't want to scare him.
Likes: Shiro- Being his exceed, it's only natural for Shadow to take a liking to him. As far as he's concerned, Shiro is his son. He raised him ever since he was an egg so he of course feels closest to him. Maybe its because of this that Shadow has more of a guardian role in Shiro's life. He usually reigns over Shiro the protective father he should be. It's for this reason that Shadow doesn't usually want Shiro to come on his more dangerous adventures.
Plants- Strangely, Shadow has a thing for plants. He doesn't know why, but he always feels more at ease when around trees and other plants. It's no wonder considering plants are always so peaceful and quiet...just like him. They don't argue, they aren't loud, they don't try to control you...they're just perfect. If he had to choose between being stuck alone on an island paradise or being with large group on a barren wasteland, he'd choose the island paradise.
Darkness- Like his name implies, Shadow prefers the night life over the morning life. It's for this reason that he rarely comes out in the morning. Like a bat he sleeps in the morning and wakes up at night. This sometimes leads to him waking up nightime sleepers, but Shadow and Shiro are both mostly quiet. They don't socialize at night anyway, since everyone's sleeping, so they don't have to worry about anything.
Dislikes: Sunlight- The number one thing Shadow can't tolerate is too much sunlight. Being a Shadow Dragon Slayer, it's natural for him to hate the light. However, he has learned to come out in the sun when he has to, but he mostly sticks to the shadows in these situations. Light is like water to shadow. He can only stay in it for so long before he has to get out.
Dogs- With dogs he can't help but hate them. In his opinion, all they do is bark until everyone else is awake, eat up all the food, and finally fall asleep in their own feces. He can't help but hate them for this. On rare occasions, his hate gets to the point that he kicks dogs, though he doesn't do this in front of Shiro.
Motivations: Protection- The most important factors that drives Shadow's decision is the protection of Shiro. He doesn't do things like kill his opponents because he wants to set a good example for Shiro. It's for protection that Shadow joined a dark guild in the first place. In order to protect Shiro, he needed strength.
The Truth- Shadow is desperate to find the truths of his past. He wants to know why he was born blind, where did his dragon father go, why he can't remember anything before his 6th birthday, ect. It's the search for the truth that leads him to fight for a guild of dark wizards along with Shiro's protection. As the saying goes, "the truth will set you free."
Honor- Unlike most dark mages, Shadow acts actually has a sense of honor. The way he sees it, there's no reason for living if you don't act out of honor. Even though he's in a dark guild, he still manages to act out of a sense of honor. If Shadow is ever asked to act any other way, he refuses no matter the consequences, unless of course it is greatly required. Loyalty & honor go hand and hand.
Fears: Disappearing- Shadow fears nothing more than disappearing from existence and being forgotten forever. It's no surprise considering he can't remember his own memories. He's greatly afraid of being forgotten himself to the point that he doesn't even care about death as long as someone remembers him. Being forgotten is the worst thing imaginable to Shadow. If no one remembers him, what was the point of living at all.
Drowning- Its not so much that Shadow is afraid of water, but he's afraid of dying in water. To him, drowning would be falling into a bottomless void which would take him in forever and suck the very life out of him. He believes that drowning would be almost as bad as disappearing. When drowning, your body is lost so it becomes easy to be forgotten, since you don't actually have a body in a grave for people to cry over.

Appearance: Shadow is average sized man of a slightly muscular built. He has a slightly pointed face that holds a pair of light blue eyes, which are usually covered by a black blindfold he almost never takes off. Besides that, he also has a ears of average size, a pointed nose, and thin lips. In terms of clothing, he usually wears a long black coat that reaches all the way down to his feet and has both a zipper & a hood to hide Shadow's face. He also has a pair of black boots and black gloves which both go with the outfit. Under this he wears fancy black pants and a long sleeved black shirt, which are both barely visible under the coat.

Description: Shadow Dragon Slayer magic is one that allows the user to take on a sort-of intangable body, so that they can't be damaged by normal means of attack. It allows the user to move swiftly, attack silently, and actually turn into a Shadow. Similarly to fire and iron dragon slayer magic, this lost magic incorporates physical attacks as well as magical.
Strengths: As stated above, Shadow Dragon slayers can turn into Shadow's to avoid being damaged and make surprise attacks. They can also able to gain strength by absorbing shadows and darkness. To do this, the user must actually be inside the darkness physically so that they actually breath in darkness, which takes the form a black mist when being ingested. As this happens, the shadow slowly shrinks until the area it covered is bathed in light again.
When in darkness, Shadow DS Mages can absorb all the power they need while the area remains in darkness. Shadow DS Magic also becomes more powerful when used around an abundance of darkness/shadows. Unfortunately, just like normal Dragon Slayers, Shadow can't absorb his own shadow or darkness.
Weaknesses: Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic leaves the user vulnerable for attack if they are caught while in a tangible form. It obviously has a weakness to light.
Extra
History: Before he became Shadow, he was only a nameless boy wandering through the streets. He was blind so he kept bumping into things, but he kept walking because he didn't know what else to do. His mind was a blank because for some reason he couldn't remember anything. He was acting purely on instinct. However, unbeknownst to him, his little walk would lead him right into the forest.
The only way he could tell he was in a different location was that he was bumping into trees now instead of people shouting at him. He found this strange, wondering why the trees didn't yell at him. Stopping, he'd reach out his hand to touch one of the trees and find that it actually hurt him. He had touched a thorn and was bleeding. Since he didn't know what to do, he just stood there and felt the blood drip onto the grass.
That's when he first met Skiadrum. At the time he was walking through the forest in search of food. That's when he found the blind boy, who didn't seem to know that he was dripping blood. Skiadrum shouted at the boy to cover his wound before something bad happened. However, he just turned towards the sound and tilted his head in confusion. Skiadrum asked who he was and the boy still didn't answer, simply because he couldn't talk or remember his name.
Skiadrum seemed to realize there was something wrong and got down so that he was to eye level...or as close as he could to eye level...with the boy. That's when he noticed the boy was blind. Considering how he didn't seem to have any idea who he was, Skiadrum guessed that the boy also had amnesia. That or he just couldn't talk. Skiadrum asked the boy if he could talk and he again said nothing, not knowing what talking was.
Snorting, Skiadrum decided to try to help the boy, since he couldn't leave him out here. He'd end up doing something stupid like walking into the ocean and drowning. So after that, Skiadrum took the boy under his wing, giving him the name Night since he seemed to like the darkness. He taught Night how to talk, eat, how to live, and everything else that he thought would be necessary. Skiadrum also taught Night how to defend himself despite the fact that he was blind.
As he continued to care for Night, Skiadrum eventually decided to pass on his legacy to Night and teach him Shadow Dragon Magic. It was of course difficult because he couldn't see and likewise had to listen to instructions, but he eventually was able to grasp the basics. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to learn everything because Skiadrum would suddenly leave him on his 9th birthday. After that, Night would wander the forest looking for Skiadrum. All he found was a black blindfold that was left on the ground.
Night guessed it was a gift from Skiadrum so he put it on. He guessed that Skiadrum must have died so he made a grave for him, though he wrote no words because he never learned to write. On that day he put on his blindfold and dressed in his all black ensemble of a cloak & everything else. He felt closer to the Shadow Dragon wearing all black. That's when he decided to always wear the outfit so he'd never forget Skiadrum.
Years past after that and Night later went on to become a freelance mage so he could make a living. Despite his blindness, he was able to perform missions as good as any other mage. So he was able to make money and even provide for himself, but there was one problem. He lived a solitary existance and eventually became afraid of dying like Skiadrum. It would be worse for him because he was afraid no one would remember him.
It was that thought that would lead him to Shiro. He was is the forest at the time, standing over Skiadrum's empty grave, when he was suddenly hit in the head by something hard. Falling backwards, he'd feel something suddenly land in his lap. This surprised Night because he never felt anything like this before. Touching the object, he identified it as something round and warm.
It was an egg, though he couldn't see that it was black with white designs that looked like claw marks. The question was, what was an egg doing in the middle of the forest and why was it so big? Lifting the egg up, he felt it suddenly moving. There was still life in it! If that were the case, where was the mother to warm the egg?
He called out as he wandered around, but he still couldn't find anyone. Knowing that he couldn't just leave the egg here, Shadow decided to take care of the egg for the time being. He was 12 at the time, but he knew from the teachings of Skiadrum that eggs only needed warmth to survive. Likewise, he'd carry the egg under his cloak so he could warm it with body heat. However, he soon found that wasn't enough so he decided to instead use the sun to warm the egg, though he hated the light.
Building a nest in a sunny spot in the forest, Night would put the egg down before retreating to the safety of the shadows. After that he began to watch the egg from the shadows since he preferred not to get in the sun. The egg never left his sight, including when he went to get food and such. Even when he slept at night, he still covered the egg with his cloak to protect it.
This went on for a while, until Night woke up one day with the egg missing. Someone had stolen it right from under him! Night immediately panicked, remembering how Skiadrum had disappeared too. He was afraid whatever was in the egg would be killed too. Running through the forest, Night would listen for anything that sounded like it could lead to his egg. That's when he heard the Vulcan wandering through the forest.
It was talking to itself about having an egg for lunch. Night didn't hesitate to pursue the sound until he was standing right behind the Vulcan. He'd then get its attention with a Shadow Dragon Slayer spell that hit the Vulcan in its back. This surprised it enough to drop the egg, so Night slid under the Vulcan's legs to catch it. Turning back to the Vulcan, he heard it angrily shouting as it aimed a punch Night's way.
Jumping out of the way, Night would turn to flee from the Vulcan. He knew he couldn't beat the Vulcan as weak as he was, especially with the egg, so all he could do was try to escape. Luckily, Night was able to lose the Vulcan by running into town. Panting heavily, Night would suddenly feel the egg shaking violently. Moments later, it would crack and something small would pop out.
Night wouldn't be able to see it, but there was actually a flying cat before him now. Still, he could feel its fur as it dropped down into his arms. It was furry, small, and had...wings. Night figured that it must have been some sort of animal, but he questioned why it had wings. However, he forgot all that when he realized that the cat was looking at him. Night was the one who warmed it so it was no surprise that the cat would now look at Night for some kind of guidance.
The first thought that came to Night's mind was the naming. Since he couldn't really see the cat, it this was incredibly hard. In the end he decided to name it Shiro because the name just came to mind, though he didn't know why. The cat liked the name too, repeating it and surprising Shiro. After that, Shadow decided to raise Shiro like Skiadrum had raised him.
As the years past, Night and Shiro grew closer & closer to the point of being inseparable. However, as they grew closer, Night began to worry more and more about Shiro's well being. This feeling was especially powerful when both he and Shiro nearly died on a mission. At the time, Night was 17 and had decided to go on a mission to defeat a rouge mage. Though he didn't want to, Shiro had talked Shadow into letting him go with him on the mission. That was the terrible mistake.
How where they to know that the rouge wasn't alone and actually had an S-Class wizard with him. Night tried his hardest, but he was being tossed around like a ragdoll. Eventually Shiro got brave enough to help Shadow, but he nearly died with one punch. Shadow knew he had to get away or they'd both die, but the S-Class wouldn't let them escape. Knowing that he couldn't flee, Shadow decided to at least defend Shiro.
It didn't take them long to finish him off and toss him into the ocean. He thought it was over then, but he would be saved by a passing S-Class Mage. She was able to take out both the mages and save Shadow from drowning. He thanked her for this, but she went on to say that Shadow was too weak. She told them that he wouldn't even be able to stop her from killing Shiro.
Shadow of course tried to stop her as she lifted up the cat, but he was too weak to move. Luckily, the female simply drooped Shiro onto Shadow's stomach. He asked why she didn't kill them and she simply told him to come to Tartaros if he wanted strength. Before he could ask her any more, she was gone. It was a while after this that someone found them lying unconscious and took them to a hospital.
After several months in the hospital, Night decided to take up the female's offer and pay a visit to Tartaros. However, when he asked around about it, everyone said that it was a dark guild and that he should stay away from it. Still, Night didn't care. He kept looking and searching & eventually found himself in front of the large guild. The female who'd told him about Tartaros was standing by the doorway.
She greeted him and told him that he'd get stronger if he stuck with them. After that, Night joined Tartaros. He was given the name Shadow by the female, who's name was Silver.
Rp Sample: The full moon up in the sky signaled the end of one day and the beginning of another. As the people of Fiore began to retreat to their beds to sleep the night away, the...other creatures would come awake to enjoy the night life. Of these creatures, two in particular could be seen wandering through the dark streets seemingly going nowhere. One of them was an average sized man dressed in a black cloak, with the hood hiding his face. The other was a small spotted cat which seemed to be hanging from the man's shoulder.
"Do you see him yet Shiro?" the man asked the spotted cat. Looking up and around he would at first see nothing but darkness. However, when he looked closer, Shiro would see a black figure darting into an alleyway.
"Over there Night!" the cat would suddenly say.
"He just went into an aley." The man nodded and turned to run into the alley.
When he arrived, Shiro would notice someone turning the corner and quickly tell Night. Following after the man, Night would quickly jump out of the way of an incoming large blue bullet. Rolling on the ground, he told Shiro to fly away before he got hurt.
"Fine," Shiro said, pouting. All of a sudden, wings would sprout from the small cat's back, which he used to fly up to a nearby building.
Knowing that Shiro was safe, Night was free to go full out. Running after the still fleeing mage, Night would suddenly cover his fist in a shadowy substance as he sped up after the mage. However, just as Shiro was close enough to attack, the mage would suddenly turn around and raise a gun towards Night. Pulling the trigger, a bright light would suddenly spring up from nowhere. It was so bright that it actually made the dark energy around Night's hand suddenly vanish.
Even so, Night pressed forward to slam his fist into the mage's cheek. When this happened, the light would vanish so they were bathed in darkness yet again. Getting up, the mage's gun would suddenly turn into a machine gun...two to be exact.
"Stay away from me Dark bastards!" he shouted, suddenly firing a large round of fire towards Night. However, as the attacks came, they'd suddenly go right through Night.
He must of fired nearly a hundred bullets yet none of them did any damage. When he finally stopped firing, the man grew wide eyed when he saw Night still.
"Why aren't you swiss cheese?" the man asked, shaking. Removing his hood, Night would reveal a pointed face with white hair and a blind fold. He was blind.
"My name is Shadow," Night said, removing his left glove and raising it so that the man could see the back of his hand.
"I am a member of Tartaros and a Shadow Dragon Slayer." As the moonlight reflected off his hand, there would be revealed to be a guild stamp of the Tartaros guild. Before the man could ask any more questions, Shadow would suddenly cover his hand in the shadowy substance again and knock the mage out with a punch. Now that he'd finished him off, Shadow lifted the man over his shoulder and called for Shiro, he came within a moments notice. It was time to return to Tartaros.
