Moonfall-Era recruitment

Malacanth was walking through the depths of Era's streets as he witnessed a peculiar site, two moonfall cultists beating up a random person near an alley. Moonfall in Era, what were they doing here! He ran up to the two cultist, planning on beating them up when they ran off. " Cowards!" is all he could say. He checked the guy on the ground saying " why was Moonfall doing this to you." All he could say before going down were " testing.....me." This really set him off. " How can those idiots do that!" He was ready to chase them but first he made sure the guy was ok. This took a couple of minutes to do.

"Go tell your nakama about the cultists" Mirei muttered to herself, mocking her guild leader's voice. Because of such a small request she had to walk all the way from Warth to this city. To make matters worse, it was now incredibly dark out, and the happiest news of all was the fact that she wasn't even sure where this "Malacanth" was. Heck she wasn't even completely sure what he looked like. As she paced about the city she casually removed her hood causing it's ear-like protrusions to tickle her back.

"Malacanth" she shouted quietly and in monotone "Where are you". She reached a rather dark alleyway and witnessed a couple people running away followed by a boy yelling out at them. "Well" Mirei said in a rushed tone "Guess I can't find him might as well go to sle-" 'damn it'

She found him.

The boy that had yelled at the fleeing people was rather tall, just as the guildmaster had described. On his hand was the same guild mark that decorated her stomach...

'is he really 14?' she thought as she approached him. She had a year or 2 on the boy yet with every step closer the boy appeared to get taller. "Malacanth? The guild leader says..." She quickly unrolled a piece of paper. Through the various scribbles of the guild master she had drawn on the way here she managed to catch the message. "Moonfall is said to be in Era, take care of it and show this rookie the rop-" Mirei's eye twitched, oh the guild master would pay for that one day.

With a sigh she faced him "I suppose I'm in your care until we beat these 'Moon Shine' guys" She sniffed at the air hoping to catch their scent. "I think they're this way"

Malacanth didn't know why Moonfall was in Era, were they expanding already? Either way he would have to deal with this. As he got up and prepared to run into the dark alley he got stopped by an odd site. A girl that looked more at home in a mall then the back alleys of Era was just walking around muttering to herself.....and she seemed to be looking for him? He knew his name wasn't common so it was probably him but how would she know him. He turned around even more surprised when she had a message from the master. She did not have the look of a dark mage but who was he to judge. " So your a new member huh, well if you were sent to find me and take down moonfall lets hurry up." Wasting no time he charged into the alley, can't let them get away, counter-intuitive really. He didn't care if the girl was following him or not, he had a vendetta. This is for the grunts after all. After running for five minutes straight. He turned the corner and suddenly ran into some mist. Why is their mist here? the thought quickly left his mind as a guy charged him screaming " For Moonfall!" Malacanth waited for the last possible moment and flipped over the guy. He was glad he did because a lightning bolt soon struck the man. Could of taken them both out but without getting Malacanth he knocked himself out. Summoning Way to Dawn he got into a defensive position, with this mist around him he couldn't see squat anyway.

How rude! I mean really, to just dash off without her, while SHE was trying to help HIM. If she hadn't been a dragon slayer she highly doubted she could have kept up with the boy. His strides were far longer and he seemed to be in peak physical shape. Meanwhile she was just a girl with the gift of dragon magic! It was dangerous for her to be all alone in such a large city. Still though, if she wanted money to eat with she had to follow him. Much to the girl's chagrin the boy apparently had no sense of direction. She was working far more than a rookie should.

As if things weren't going bad enough they were soon shrouded in mist and being attacked by insane people! Malacanth didn't even seem phased by all of this. Was he some kind of battle maniac? "Welll... Good for me I guess?" She muttered to herself as she paced towards her guild mate. Once she was standing back to back with him she peered up into the sky and took in a big gulp of air. At the same time a circle appeared before her face "Roar of the Sky Dragon!" A gust of air burst into the sky clearing a small part of the mist and revealing one of the assailants. "Go get em champ" She said, while placing a hand on the boy's back. A circle appeared and a light blue aura enveloped him "Aura of the Sky Dragon"she whispered.

Malacanth never was fazed by battle, a warrior like him never would get phased. He finally heard the girl catch up but he knew at this point she wasn't athletic enough to keep up. " good job keeping up, now lets take down these moonfall bastards." He said this with a steely calm, moonfall is one thing he doesn't joke about. He was surprised when she turned out to be a dragon slayer, definitely should of been a bit more considerate when they first met. It didn't matter though, she gave him an opportunity so he will take it. Charging the other Moonfall member, he swung down trying to hit his head, maybe a killing shot but still, they deserve it. Sadly he didn't have time to finish the swing because a lightning bolt struck him at that moment. He went spinning a couple of feet but landed on his feet. " That hurt." The lightning bolt cleared a bit of the mist so now he could see a girl. Probably the leader of the two lackeys that are here already. She seemed a more interesting target. " take the cultist, i will take down this priest." Charging the priestess she sent another lightning bolt at him. He easily ducked under the bolt and with a slash got her knee. She was a long range fighter so at this point he had the advantage. Sadly the advantage went back to her as she jumped back and got to long range. He turned to face her and just as he did a lightning bolt was almost to his face. Moving slightly to the side was enough to dodge it though. " This one is tough."

Eh? "Take?" That wasn't exactly her forte "Me taking anything wasn't part of the deal Malaca-" She narrowly managed to dodge an attack from the target she was "taking". With an impromptu spin she was out of reach. Her foot slid back into a defensive stance. "Umm... How about we talk about this?"

The cultist closed the game and swung for her head but Mirei was a little too quick. She ducked and performed a rather lame roll across the ground. "Seriously, there's no reason to fight right?" she smiled at the cultist but she didn't care. With another lunge she hit Mirei in the chest sending her back a few steps and onto her butt.

"R-roar of the sky dragon!"

Mirei blew an ordinary breath of air at the cultist. She simply couldn't gather the air needed while surrounded by this polluted air. "R..really!?" She scrambled to her feet and dodged a swing from the cultist's weapon. She dashed towards Malacanth but was cut off by the cultist, who swung a couple times. Mirei managed to dodge all three swipes and jabbed a fist forward into the cultists stomach.

The cultist merely grumbled. "Ahhhh! Then let's try this!" A magic circle appeared beneath her feet and a blue aura enveloped her body "Claws of the Sky Dragon!"

Power surged through her body. She pulled her bunny hood over her head and delivered a kick to the cultist's stomach. But she wasn't done yet. She followed it up with a punch to the chest, then a blow to the arm and finished with a kick to the head sending her skidding away.

She panted for breath and collapsed to the ground. This magic polluting the air had a worse effect on her than she had expected. It felt as though she couldn't breath and she had even more trouble gathering her strength. It was simply a bad match for someone who relies on the air to be forced to fight in such magical pollution.

Malacanth heard the catastrophe his partner was behind him so he guessed it was around time to help her. Using the ability he was given by her magic he easily closed the distance between him and the cultist she couldn't seem to handle, looks like she wasn't an offensive mage then. Malacanth quickly slashed at the cultist, giving the guy a deep wound. As he did this a bolt of lightning went at the girl. Great is all he could think. Doing a flip over the crumpling cultist he stood in the way of the lightning bolt. That lightning bolt hurt, need to take her out. Charging at the priestess yet again he slashed out. She dodged this but he did get a piece of her cloak. Rushing at her again he added a spell to it. " Dark infection." darkness coalesced on the blades edge and he slashed at her, the blade grazing her stomach. Thats all he needed because now she was on the ground in pain.

Mirei was still struggling for breath. The air here was so unclean. She watched in awe as Mala made short work of the cultist she had been struggling with and even jumped in front of a lightning bolt for her! Though she was sure it was only because of her spell he was able to do these things. It was still pretty cool. She watched as the priestess fell to the ground writhing from Malacanth's spell. Even while screaming in pain she was still spitting insults about "Dark Guild scum" It seemed as though her mist was fading along with her strength. Mirei smirked.

She inhaled a large breath of the now clean air. Smiling inwardly when the blue circle appeared. "Roar of the Sky Dragon!" The pressurized air sent the already injured priestess into a nearby building effectively knocking her out.

"Way to make me do all of the work!" she exclaimed as she collapsed to her knees. The hood of her jacket drifted off of her head. At this point the mist had all dissipated and she was able to breathe in the fresh air. As fresh as the air could be in this overcrowded city, that is. She took in several deep breaths feeling her stamina return to her. "So what do we do with these guys?"

Malacanth rolled his eyes as she claimed she did all the work. " if all the work means you almost died then you definitely did that." He suddenly dropped to one knee, breathing heavily, taking two lightning bolts didn't feel good. He got back up, a bit unsteadily but he could manage now. " we take them back for a reward." As he said this a man came from the shadows, he had the mark of Moonfall on him too. Malacanth was about to charge the man but he disappeared in a flash of lightning. " damn it, one got away." He sent his weapon back to the pocket dimension with a sigh. " Guess the battles are over." He turned back to the girl saying " so whats your name?"

This guy was seriously a battle maniac. The moment another person popped up Mirei stepped back cautiously. She was ready to flee at a moments notice. Yet, this boy stepped forward as if to challenge him. He could barely stand! What did he think he could do? Luckily they didn't need to find out for today, as the man simply disappeared.

With a sigh she grabbed the boy's arm. He was obviously hurt so a little patching up was in order. "My name is Mirei." she muttered curtly "Now stand still for a bit, ok?" Her hands emitted a soft blue glow which enveloped the boy's body. Slowly but surely the cuts and bruises disappeared. Soon he would feel some of his fatigue fade as well.

Once he was all patched up she let out a sigh of relief "Why do you love fighting so much?" she exclaimed. To take so much damage and still want to fight, how weird was this kid?

She chewed on her lip "Never mind, let's just turn these guys in" She really wasn't in the mood to hear his justifications at this point. She just wanted to go somewhere, take a nice long bath and go to sleep. The girl silently hoped that the tounrnament hadn't devoured all of the hotel rooms in the city.

He was starting to really like her abilities, while she couldn't fight he could support and heal him so that is nice. He waved her along as he walked saying " I'll show you a hotel, thanks for the healing." He owed her at least a hotel room since she gave him miniscule help. Walking towards the main streets of Era he said " you coming or not?"
