Koi visited the hospital to see his parents every week. He could tell they were getting better, but the recovery was not fully guaranteed so Koi could not hold his hopes up. He was glad his parents had made enough to cover the entire operation, but that was it. He knew that his parents wanted to offer him money, but they had none, so Koi could not burden them any longer. Koi would walk around each day in the blazing hot sun and the dreadfully bumpy ground, just looking around for some easy requests from the Freelance Request Boards.
Koi took a few minutes to sit down, and sighed to himself, "I keep wandering, where am I supposed go?"
He could feel and hear his stomach growl hungrily for something to enter it. He needed to go somewhere as soon as possible; he could not just wait in the blazing sun and wait till nighttime till it was freezing cold. Koi wandered to a nearby building, it was tall and there seemed to be people partying inside. He knew he would not be able to socialize with all of them... especially in that setting, but Koi's survival was on the line.
Koi was opening the gate at the entrance of the building, but once it opened, Koi fainted.
Koi woke up in a wooden bed with a plain white mattress and blue covers. He seemed to be in somebody's room and looked around. Koi spotted an elder woman and gasped out of surprise.
"So you are the one that fainted? We can bring you home, do not worry."
Koi looked down in shame and replied, "I don't have a home, kind Madam, you see."
The woman held a sympathetic look at Koi and smiled, not out of pity, but out of wonder and said, "How about joining us?"
"Joining who?" Koi said in curiosity, as he did not want to get into anymore trouble than what his parents had.
"Lamia Scale."
After the guildmaster said those words, Koi had no idea what happened. To him it all seemed like a blur because in the very next moment, Koi found himself with a grey guild tattoo of a snake on top of his left shoulder and a new family-- one never expected to get.
Koi looked to the guildmaster, Ooba Babasaama and nodded his head, in thanks to her.
