Primary Magic: Equivalent Exchange
Secondary Magic: Currently N/A
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: Equivalent Exchange is what is known in ancient literature as alchemy. Not turning straw into gold, but completely changing whatever he touches. Essentially, if he was given a metal bar, he could cast his magic upon it and turn it into a sword. It can work with anything that he touches, including turning sand into glass. However, there are a series of limitations that affect his magic. Firstly, he can only change objects into something made of the same material. He can't change wood into metal for example. Secondly, he can only change the object into something with a similar mass. He can stretch it out, or make it smaller, but only so far as changing the location of the mass. If he made it shorter, it would end up getting fatter. If he made it taller, it would end up getting thinner, and so on and so forth. Thirdly, it only works if he can make physical contact with the object. For example, he wouldn't be able to affect water as his hands would just pass straight through it. However, he could affect ice, as he could make physical contact with it. The final limitation is that he can't just summon things out of the ether. It has to already exist, and be at hand.
Strengths: There are several great strengths to this kind of magic. Firstly, it can affect anything that's solid, as long as it isn't alive. Unlike most types of magic, he isn't constrained by the element of the object. Whether it be metal or wood, he can alter it. Furthermore, he can change any solid into another version of it (as long as that is also solid). An example of this would be changing glass into sand, or vice versa. Finally, all it requires truly is to be able to touch something. Although this means that he can't affect anything his hand would pass through, such as fire or water, he can affect anything that's solid.
Weaknesses: As listed in the description, there are several clear weaknesses to this magic that permanently apply to it. Firstly, he can only change objects into something made of the same material (He can't change steel to copper). Secondly, the mass of the object before and after the change would have to be the same. He could break it into several pieces, like a metal plate into several knives, but the total collected mass would need to be the same. He couldn't just pull extra mass out of nowhere. Thirdly, he'd need to be able to make physical contact with an object, so it'd need to be a solid that he affected (as his hand passes through liquids and gasses, he can't affect them). Finally, the original ingredients have to exist before he uses his magic. Unlike most other magics, he can't just create things out of nothing.
Name: Wrist-blade
Rank: D
Magic Cost: 10
Requirements: His auto-mail arm
Class: Supplementary / Offense
Range: N/A
Element: Equivalent Exchange
Effect: He slams his normal hand onto his automail arm and changes it with his magic. The metal starts to stretch out, before forming into a short-blade, looking like a wrist blade. His hand is still usable for grabbing and such, but now some of the metal further up the arm has been stretched out into a blade. Because of the slap-dash creation of the blade, at most it can cut the skin and stab. Not enough to kill, or to seriously injure, but enough to seriously hurt.

Name: Floor Protection
Rank: D
Magic Cost: 10
Requirements: being able to touch the ground,
Class: D
Range: 10 foot
Element: Equivalent exchange
Effect: Slamming his hands on the floor, Byakuya causes the floor to extend upwards and block the attack. The strength of the defence depends on the material that he’s using as a barrier. For example, bricks are a lot stronger than mud. However, as a rule, metal and concrete are able to withstand 1 c and 3 d, or 5 d in total. Bricks are able to withstand 3 d's and glass (created by either actual glass or sand) can only withstand 1 d.

Name: Heavy Shoes.
Rank: D
Magic Cost: 10
Requirements: Concrete/brick/sand floor.
Class: Offense/Defense
Range: 15 feet
Element: Equivalent Exchange.
Effect: By slamming his hands on the floor, Byakuya softens it enough for people to sink into it. He’s able to only make specific areas soft, and thus avoids getting trapped himself. When the opponent has sunk far enough, he rehardens the floor and traps them in it. At most, they sink down to their shin, but deep enough to keep them from moving.
