| Character Template Persona Name: Samael Alias: N/A Gender: Male Age: 19 Birthdate: 06/06 Sexuality: No Preference Special Characteristics: Tattoo of a Noble House of Bosco on his right neck. Personality: Samael is usually pretty laid back, though he doesn't like getting used or having his mild ignorance of the ways of Fiore and Guilds abused to make him look foolish. He's fairly self-confident, though he does take into consideration that he isn't Human. He doesn't mind being stared at, as he thinks of himself as looking 'pretty damned awesome', though it annoys him to be made fun of by anyone who really shouldn't be opening their mouth for anything. He's not opposed to a good brawl occasionally, though he doesn't generally seek out conflict with anyone on purpose. Perhaps a rival could get under his scales enough to keep him occupied and at his best. He doesn't like asking people to do stuff for him. He doesn't want to be seen as weak, as the weak in the slave camp were often forced to fight each other to the death for the entertainment of the owners. Likes: - Spoiler:
Warm places. While not necessarily cold blooded, Samael does like the feel of the sun's warmth on his scales. He usually hangs out by fireplaces when one is lit.
Playing Piano Teralin used to play the piano in her home while he would practice his spells. It was always a soothing experience. Never shying away from his curiosity, Teralin taught him how to play the piano as a side project. She said that all the cool people play piano.
Training. He's been doing hard labor most of his life. While he likes to relax occasionally, he always enjoys time spent bettering himself. Laboring for yourself is worth it.
Beef/Pork Ramen. Especially if it has all the vegetables and stuff. Pho is pretty good as well, though he prefers the classic. There's so much color and flavor in a bowl. It was also the first real food he had when he became free.

Dislikes: (What does your character dislike and why) - Spoiler:
Captivity and restraints. He's been a slave and in chains a good portion of his life. There's no way he ever wants to go back to that existence in any way, shape, or form.
Bread Pudding It reminds him of the gruel that they would serve the slaves. And it just looks like mucus..
Chickens It's a long story involving hunger, cock-fighting, and misfortune. I don't talk about it, so don't ask.
Being made a fool of. He doesn't know everything in the world yet, especially about Fiore. He most certainly doesn't appreciate your taking advantage of him for your cheap laughs.
Motivations: (What motivates your character in life and why) - Spoiler:
Aspirations to become a wizard that Teralin could be proud of. Teralin spent many days tutoring him in the ways of magic and how it was used as well as a large portion of the mundane machinations of the world. What sort of Apprentice/Student would he be if he cannot follow up on his mentor's faith in him.
Find his own identity and values. As a slave, he never really got to think much of himself as an individual. As a student, he was instilled with the values of his mentor. He wants to affirm that these things that she taught him are what he feels is right as well. He doesn't want to live his life in the shadow of someone else's ideals, even if he does respect and miss that person.
Establish friendships and find a new place to call home. With Teralin's passing, the abolitionist group disbanded. Without her leadership and power, their little sect no longer had the strength necessary to hold off the taskmasters and guards to free those in captivity. They were all he knew, but in the end they were more mercenaries and distant friends than family. He wants to establish a bond with someone who, like Teralin, actually cares if he lives or dies.
Fears: What does your character fear in life and why) - Spoiler:
Being bound against his will. Ever since he's been free, he has placed great value in the extent to which his will shapes his own course in life.
Being rejected/kicked out from the guild(s) of Fiore. He's come all this way in the hopes that he could honor the memory of his friend and mentor by joining a guild and becoming a great wizard, just like her. He doesn't want to fall short of this hope that she had for him. It would break his heart to think that she died having apprenticed a failure of a student.
Being in the Nude in front of others. Sometimes.. it's best not to have an anatomy lesson in front of everyone.

General Appearance Height: 6'10'' Weight: 247 Hair: N/A Eyes: Teal Scale Tone: Dark/Light Green, Tan-ish Appearance: Samael is a tall, toned, plantigrade, reptilian creature with dark green scales and a tan-ish underbelly that has an almost quilted look to it. He has a thick alligator/lizard like tail with ridges that extends from where his back meets his waist. Dark green spines curve back from his head down to his tail, becoming shallower toward the middle of his back. Every digit, finger and toe ends in a small claw, which he keeps trimmed and neat enough to not get in the way of daily tasks nor clothes. His clothes are simple and consists mostly of a pair of pants and attached foot-wraps. Both are mostly white with patches of brown leather providing protection and support. Over each shoulder is a strap where a backpack or other supplies would attach to this back-harness. While practical, he thinks he looks good in it, and as such usually wears it. Guild Guild: N/A Tattoo: N/A Rank: D Magic Primary Magic: Bone-Make Magic Secondary Magic: N/A Caster or Holder: Caster Description: The caster forms bone items/shapes in order to block, assault, and support himself and allies. Bone creations are usually curved in some way, as most bones in the body are not strait. With added thought, Samael can make them strait though. Though called 'Bone-Make Magic', other connective tissues that arise from mesenchyme such as cartilage, tendons, and ligaments, may be integrated with the bones to maintain plasticity. Strengths: Freedom of Shape and Utility, which is the shape of all creation magic, Bone is a strong material that gains most of it's resilience from it's form and composition. Its basic structure and counter-curved rings allow it to resist blunt trauma and absorb shock, capable of supporting weights well beyond its own. Bone is light-weight and sturdy when healthy, though remarkably flexible if formed with varying mineral ratios and maturity. Weaknesses: Fire/Dessication Damage of the same rank causes the bone-make spell to become brittle and stiff. Bone-Make spells are reduced by one rank in effectiveness vs all spells and damage in the following post after being dried. A Bone-Make spell that is reduced to no-rank by this weakness is instead counted as an E-rank spell as the damage inflicted to the Bone-Magic Spell was not technically enough to destroy it outright. EX: D rank Bone-Make Spell is hit by E-Rank Fire Spell, Bone-Make spell now counts as E-rank in the following round if applicable, even though it technically has no rank. Extra History: - Spoiler:
Samael has been traveling to Fiore ever since he discovered he had enough magical talent and power to use magic. Their guilds are second to none and have some of the best mages in the whole world concentrated in one, legendary country.
Originating in Bosco, he was bought from a con artist as a Dragon Egg to a family in Bosco's smaller towns. After hatching, it was discovered that he was not indeed a 'Dragon'. He was immediately sold into slavery where he endured the hardships of the daily work. While this did nothing for his progress to learning magic, he became powerful and strong lifting, shoveling, carrying, building, and more. It wasn't till ten years later that he escaped in a slave revolt. Orchestrated by an abolitionism group, and their resident wizard, he, and a handful of other managed to make it out alive thanks to their efforts. Though still young, he appeared fully grown. He knew nothing of the world, only freedom.
With time, and help from the Old Wizard Teralin, he learned how to speak, eat, behave, and act in a more civilized world than the slave camp that he had been bound to for years. His self-confidence grew as did his magical power. In the last few years he spent with Teralin, he was taught the basics of magic and discovered his own magic: Bone-Make Magic.
As practice, he assisted Teralin in freeing other slaves and undermining the slave trade as a whole. He learned the proper way to wield a blade, the ways of combat, and how to handle himself in a fist-fight from the other revolutionaries who helped Teralin in her efforts. All these and more would make him an excellent addition to their cause. With time, he was not only happy to help, but found pride in assisting those with no hope, like him. He gave them freedom, just like he was.
His last few months with Teralin were heartfelt. Her time was running out as age caught up wit her quickly. On her death bed, she recommended he go to Fiore, where he would no doubt become a magnificent wizard. With his thanks for everything she had given him, he left Bosco in search of a Guild in Fiore that would take him. He thought that if anywhere would take in a vagabond like him, it would be the extraordinary wizards of Fiore.

Week three of the on-foot journey to Fiore:
Samael has gotten caught on the roads to Fiore by the boarder patrol. Though he was trying to be sneaky, his racing heart distracted him just long enough to trip over a branch and flop out of the bushes into plain view.
The soldiers pointed their pikes at the Lizard-man and began their mocking notions of what a 'pittiful slave beast' like him is doing so close to the border. He got to his feet and placed his hands in the air as he glared at the soldiers. They would certainly take him back to his owners if he let them, but he had no intention of ever going back there.
Samael bares his teeth in defiance and slams his fists together. "Bone-Make: Osteoblast!" A Spell Circle appears before his hands as he thrusts one out and sprays the two soldiers with bone shards. The shock of a slave casting magic caught them off their feet, causing them to fall backwards in a fail dodge.
Using the opportunity, Samael ran for it. He didn't want to fight any of these people. I wanted to get to Fiore, to a guild, to freedom. He had a goal in mind, and it most certainly didn't include mining silver for the rest of his life.
